On hunting patrol Sandclaw picked up the sent of Smoke.
I'll go meet her when I get back from hunting patrol. she thought, casualy leading the rest of the hunting patrol away from the sent. If they found Smoke in Thunderclan territory, Sandclaw probably would find her in the fresh kill pile the next day.

Smoke scented the patrol.She could smell Sandclaw but was smart enough not to greet er.If I give her away she will be endangered she thought to herself.Quietly she waited for Sandclaw to return.

After returning to camp Sandclaw slipped back into the forest to meet Smoke. She hoped no one would notice that she was missing, and she hoped the clan hadn't noticed that she was acting less responsible.
"Hello again," she said, once she had reached Snakerocks "what brings you to Thunderclan territory?"
She purred softly to show Smoke that she was welcome.

"Well," Sandclaw started, "clan deputys', medicine cats and clan leaders can't have kits. I would love to have kits but I would be giving up my positoin if I did."
She sighed laying down facing Smoke, tucking her paws under her chest.

"I've heard of a deputy who had kits.Blue something I think, any way she got rid of them. Later on she went mad with grief."Smoke shook her head and looked sad."She missed her kits.So I sugest you take the kits, better to know what if you had than not to, or so I think.But the decision is yours, make sure you don't regret it. Hey mabey after you have kits Icestar will make you deputy agin." She got up and gave herself a shake to git any moss out of her fur.There was a sound behind her and she saw a pair of eyes staring at them.

Sandclaw stared at the eyes and could smell her fear sent. It was Silverpaw, Sandclaw's apprentice. This was the sixth time since she had become an apprentice that she had followed Sandclaw into the forest. She claimed that watching what Sandclaw did in the forest, such as catching prey, would help her become a warrior."What’s this kittypet doin' in our territory?" she asked staring at Sandclaw. Sandclaw didn’t know what to tell her that could make her go away.She looked at Smoke, hoping she would have the answer.

Heavystep smelled Sandstorm on her patrol. *I'll go have a word with her* As she got closer she smelled somthing else....KITTYPET!! Sandstrom?!? Icestar just told me to tell you that there has been kittypets hanging around and that you need to send a patroll out to scare them away!I guess that won't be happening since you've made a kittypet friend! *hiss* I must tell Icestar!!

Heavy stalks back after talking with Icestar. Icestar wants to have a word with you Sandstorm! And as for this kittypet! She must go! *hiss* Get away from here!! *hiss* Sandstrom you might as well have some kits because your not going to be deputy much longer!!! *hiss*

"Well, kittypets aren’t supposed to be in ThunderClan territory. But if you tell me what the secret is I wont tell anybody about the kittypet bein' here!" Silverpaw replied looking excitedly at Sandclaw. "Well," Sandclaw told Silverpaw "you know where Twoleg place is right?" Silverpaw nodded. "I'm asking this kittypet here some information about it to see if I can get the kittypets who live there to," Sandclaw wispered something in Silverpaws ear. Silverpaw's eyes grew wide. "No way!" she whispered. Sandclaw nodded. "Now remember don't tell anybody," Sandclaw said. "Ok sure." Silverpaw replied, still wide eyed. "Now go back to camp and don’t tell anybody about this kittypet ok?" Sandclaw said to Siverpaw. Silverpaw nodded and ran in the direction of the ThunderClan camp.
"Now where were we?" Sandclaw said, smiling at Smoke.

"I was suggesting you become a queen, because it's a much safer route."Smoke said. She squinted at the sky."Sun's getting low, I got to go. Consider what I've said." Smoke left to get back to her twolegs before they got worried about her.
