[glow=green,2,300]The brilliant sun hid itself behind the silver-lined clouds in the sky. Faint whispers flew around the forest floor, the wind skimming the grass gently as they were murmured. A shadowed drop of water slip from a sage coloured leaf, echoing as it toppled onto the ground. It was peaceful, silence surrounding everything in a blanket. Then, the sky darkened to a deep sapphire navy, the dim light of the sun now invisible. A creaking sound of thunder rose, fading after a moment. The winds picked up, blowing scarce leaves into the air. Water dripped from the heavens, in a whirl wind of rain.
Slowly a dark cat moved. She gazed into the sky, water rippling on her delicate face. A few chips came from the trees, humming sweetly. They stopped, the only thing heard in the forest was the soft sound of the falling rain. The cat sat down, still staring into the sky. Thunder crashed bitterly, scratching the sky with lightning.
Dreamheart spotted a bronze rock to her left. The clan's camp was a long walk from here, she would be soaked by the time she reached it. Dreamheart skipped to the cave like shape, shaking her fur free of water. She would need to stay here for a while, or at least until the rain calmed. Dreamheart decided to lie down, curling her paws underneath her. No one would really miss her right now, she hadn't been gone too long. Dreamheart shut her eyes, blurring the vision of the forest. A little sleep will make the time go by faster. She thought, resting her head on the patch of grass in front of her.
Dreamheart bolted out of sleep by the sound of a harsh crash. What's going on?! She thought quickly, looking around wildly. Dreamheart stood up, gazing at the sky. A couple pieces of hail had fallen, but they were finally stopping. The thunder was worse now, lightning appearing often. Maybe I'll just run home.... Dreamheart thought. She was fast, but there was a clearing she would pass, making her the tallest object in the forest. Dreamheart felt herself being pulled back by her mind. Is it still day? She wasn't sure at all. Dreamheart stood up, but froze. The scent of a fox hit her. Dreamheart craned her neck out of the small cave, but she couldn't see any animals. Her eyes widened slightly as she realized the fox was above her.
She stood still, wondering how large the fox was. Dreamheart looked around her, noticing the cave's roof start shrinking. I'll be crushed! She whispered frantically. Dreamheart charged from under the rock, the rain singeing her fur with a chill. A muffled yelp came from behind her; the fox falling off the rock. He quickly recovered, then bolted forward after Dreamheart.
Dreamheart panted slightly, swiftly moving. Hiding in a tree would be a dangerous idea, but stopping would be even worse. Dreamheart ran and ran, all of sudden she felt a piecing pain in her star-marked paw. The pad was ripped, scarlet blood dripping. I'll heal it when I get back.. She murmured as she continued running.
Dreamheart had forgotten about the fox, until she saw it pounce. Dreamheart skidded to a stop, the fox landing in front of her. It's amber eyes gleaming as t once again serged forward. Dreamheart dodged the fox by a mouse-length, panting hard. The rain was falling harder now, creating a mist everywhere. Dreamheart didn't know which way to go. She decided to just keep running.
The scent of the fox had faded away, but Dreamheart wasn't sure if the rain washed it away, or if the fox left. She stumbled on a root, falling down. Dreamheart saw a dim tunnel and crawled toward it. The tunnel wasn't made of anything natural. Dreamheart quickly realized she was near ShadowClan territory. Dreamheart was too tired to think. She would be the safest here. Dreamheart closed her eyes again.
The rain had stopped, but clouds were still everywhere. Dreamheart stretched, forgetting where she was. In a second she recalled everything. I need to get home, before the rain starts again. She thought as she rushed out of the tunnel. Dreamheart recognized the scents around her again, finding her way home would be easy. She ran until she was half way at home. The clouds were a deep dark grey now, Dreamheart knew the rain would fall again soon. Her fur had dried, but it wouldn't be like that for long. She began walking, briskly but no so she would use up all her energy.
Dreamheart was now so close she could almost scent other cats. The rain was now falling ever so gently, but it would crash down soon. She entered the camp slowly after many steps. Dreamheart saw everything covered in a light fog. She then made her way towards the center of the camp.[/glow]
