Angelfur looked at her as if something was wrong. "Mommy, what's the matter with you?" she said and then looked up at Blackthorn. Icekit nodded to the black-and-white cat.

Waterkit came bouncing up. She had been playing in the water. Since meeting Blackthorn, she had become more independent. Now, as she saw her rogue friend, she raced forward to greet her. She saw Angelfur, and backed away. This cat took up most of her father's time. Bloodclaw didn't play with Waterkit any more. Sometimes, it seemed as if Waterkit was being ignored all together. Not with Blackthorn. Blackthorn spent time with her, teaching her what she needed to know. She walked up beside the rogue and stared up at her. "What's going on?" she mewed softly.

Waterkit lifted her head proudly and sat down. She rapped her tail over her paws, a ussual gesture that she was going to do what SHE wanted to do.
