Lilyfeather stopped her worked for a moment and gave a deep sigh. This was a question she hardly knew how to answer. "I can't remember it very well...." she mewed. "It was quite a while ago, and my memory isn't the best." Another sigh escaped her mouth. "I wanted to help out. I knew that I could never fight, and that this way, I could still help the clan. But back then, I couldn't remember anything. I could barely remember Stormstar!" Lilyfeather began to laugh at that. "But Bluefire was the one who really made me want to be a Medicine Cat. She was like family to me, and I admired the way she helped others. I knew I wanted to be like that, too. I loved spending time with her, and gradually, my memory became better. But then....." A far off look spread across Lilyfeather's face. She shook her head. "Ah, sorry, I'm getting a little side tracked."

//I believe you mean Bluefire instead of Bluetstar... LOL//
Whitetail nodded as he heard the story, rather slowly. "Ah..." The words faded from his mouth like a setting sun. He turned to Pheasantpaw, who was obviously close to Lilyfeather. "And you, little apprentice, what makes you so eager to see the Meddie's area. I see that you are interested in this filed... are you not?" His sparkling blue eyes twinkled as he asked the question.

[glow=red,2,300]Pheasantpaw looked at Whitetail with a hholding gaze, "Er... um... I like helping, I wanna help." The apprentice knew that wasn't the whole story, and then looked at his paws. He seemed to be so nervous when someone asked him about it. His paws looked darker then usual.
"I think I could be good at it too. It's like something that just urges me on, and keeps me going. It's like a battle, only for someone's life." He was hoping that Lilyfeather would be impressed by his answer more then the bloody white warrior that asked him the question. He looked up and his look contuined, "I have no reason, but I just want to do it. It's good for me as much as any other cat."[/glow]

//No problem Lily...//
Whitetail smiled. The apprentice had given a wise answer. "Hm..." The Warrior was not sure how to respond to this... the apprentice was smarter than he looked. "Very good. I am impressed." Sniffing, Whitetail's stomache growled. "Oh, dear me, exscuse me." He gave Pheasantpaw and Lilyfeather a wink.

[glow=red,2,300]The dark colored tabby swept Whitetail a glance. He just gave him a compliment, or what it sounded like. A thankful gaze leapt into the apprentice's eyes. It was his first compliment since he got to RiverClan.
Quickly looking back at Lilyfeather to see her reaction, he drained the thankful gaze that had tooken over his head for a long moment.
Pheasantpaw waited. No one said anything, waiting longer, moments passed. Getting anxaious, the tabby apprentice looked at everyone, they seemed calm, and so nothing worried him for longer, he knew they weren't shocked of him saying anything wrong or bad.[/glow]

OOC: KYAAAA! LATE! Lilyfeather nodded approvingly at Pheasantpaw's answer. "That's very wise of you. You may well be a medicine cat one day!" Once again, she nodded at the cat.

Whitetail then began to think. "Lilyfeather, do you know Dreamheart?" he asked suddenly. Dreamheart was a tad bit older than the tom but they were about the same age. Her training was near the middle when he became an apprentice.

[glow=red,2,300]Pheasantpaw stood up with pride. He had answered right on the target, and had gotten compliemtned from the RiverClan medicine cat. Even though he didn't know if she gave compliemnts out for just being nice and making people feel good or if she meant it, but he didn't care, he just felt really good.
Shocked by Whitetail's question, he jumped up with fear, and his hair prickled up. Then reminding himself that it was just the whte warrior. [/glow]

"Dreamheart, huh?" Lilyfeather mewed, barely noticing Pheasentpaw's reaction. "Yes, I know her. I see her every so often at gatherings. Why do you ask?"

Whitetail, too, noticed Pheasantpaw's weird reaction. "No.. No reason. She is my Meddie back in TC. Thats all." He sighed. "I wonder how Brownstar is handling everything."

"Knowing her, things are going smoothly. I've never known Brownstar to let everything fall apart." The rumbling of her stomach finally reached her ears, and she looked up to the others. "Say, I'm going to go get some food. Do either of you want some?"

//lol.. and yet, Brownstar has fallen apart.//
Whitetail looked up eagerly. "Can I be of help?" he asked, winking his eye. Whitetail was tired of being cooped up in a den, and wanted to see RC.

"Well, I honestly think you should stay here and rest. I wouldn't want you moving around until you are able enough to return to your camp..." She mewed, taking another step outside the den.

[glow=red,2,300]Pheasantpaw let himself relax, "Oh, come'on Lilyfeather. I think Whitetail deserves some fresh air. He's been cooped up in here along time, and I think that he should be able to get some fresh kill, and be able to stretch." The tabby looked at Lilyfeather, without meeting her eyes.
Moving his dark, and muled pelt, he was able to adjust it where he looked bigger then he really was. Pheansantpaw grew up in ShadowClan and he was never made an apprenticce. So a cat that liked him, Innocentsoul, was made a warrior when he became an apprentice, and they were the same age, and she was his mentor.
Coming back to reality, Pheasantpaw looked at Lilyfeather from Whitetail, and back to Whitetail. They were both warrior aged and so they were both also loyal to there clans. But beacause e was selfish, he came to RiverClan, with no history, but hopefully a sucessful fruture as medicine cat.[/glow]

Whitetail flashed Pheasantpaw a thankful look. "Come on, Lilyfeather," he said pleadingly. "You, as a Meddie, shouldf know that fresh air helps everything."

Lilyfeather looked at the tom and sighed, shaking her haed in utter defeat. "My my, I guess you're right. Okay then. Come on." The Med cat slowly trodded out of the den, picking up the pace when Whitetail caught up.

[glow=red,2,300]The dark colored tabby looked up to find Lilyfeather walking out of the Medicine Cat den. Looking at the white tom, he nodded at him for no reason, and then ran to catch up with Lilyfeather. He wished he could ask her straight up May I become your apprentice, but it didn't work that way. "Lilyfeather...'' Pheasantpaw spoke once he aught up to her. "Do you think... well, I'm fit to be a Midicne Cat apprentice? I mean, not that I'm asking you to be youurs, bu ddo you think, that a medicine cat would accept me to become their apprentice?" The tom spoke, edging around the point that he wanted to be one.
That was a long, long shot though, sonce the questions that probaly flew through anyones head when of others when theyy saw the mysterious Pheasantpaw was, Who is that, Where did he come from? Is he a spy? Why is he here?[/glow]

Without even giving a second thought, Lilyfeather gave a quick nod and a smile. "Of course!" She mewed happily, trotting over to the fresh-kill pile in all her air-headedness. She reached over and picked up a small mole. "I think you'd be perfect for the position." She said, speaking between bites.

Whitetail quickly caught up. He sniffed the air. Fish. Not exactly his favorite meal but it would do. The poor Warrior was starving. Why, what a deliteful..." He pasued. HOw could he describe it? What could he say about the stench of the fish... nothing except for the fact he depsised it. Oh, well. The Warrior sighed and laughed. "Fish.. have not had that ina while." He actually had only had it twice.. and he was forced.

"Oh? You've had fish before? I thought it was only Riverclan that ate fish. I guess I was wrong." Lilyfeather mewed, looking over her shoulder at the Warrior. She finished her mole and sat down by the reeds to wait for the other two to finish.
