Thinking on patrol

[Hollow]

Hollowheart sat still, eyes closed as he remembered roaming where ever he wished, not being tied down to a clan. He also remembered the she-cat who offered him a place in her clan where he could run forever. He shook his head. That would mean leaving Amberwind. Besides, he had one last thing o do here... He shivered."It'll probaly be the last thing I ever do," He mutter to himself. A wind ruffled his fur, as he sat gazing down at Riverclan territory. I wonder what would have happened if I'd accepted her offer...

[Silentclaw]

Silentclaw walked up next to Hollow. He had traveled deep into Windclan territory for no real reason. Mabey Starclan sent me, he thought to himself. He looked up to see Hollowhheart on patrol. "Hey Hollow, how've you bein doing?" Silentclaw asked. He looked at Hollow carefully. "what are you thinking of?"

[Hollow]

"I'm.. fine, just thinking of Leader," Hollowheart looked at Silentclaw. "Ever met her before?"

[Silentclaw]

"No," Silentclaw said. He heard stories about her though, all the time. "They sa Blindstar was one of her sons. He never told anyone, except me." He looked at Hollow. "He was, you know. Why are you asking about Leader?"

[Hollow]

"I was just remembering her."Hollow said recalling their first meeting. "She offered me a position as a 'runner'." He sighed. "It's hard to believe after her first encounter with that she'd be willing to do anything but slit my throat."

[Silentclaw]

Silentclaw nodded. "I have to go now, good bye Hollow." Silentclaw stood up and left.

Hollowheart nodded. He stayed there as he watched Silentclaw walk away.

[glow=dodgerblue,2,300]Windpaw skipped up the bank with a large greyling in her mouth. Her gentle sea-grey eyes floated to meet the amber optics of Hollowheart. The two cats were quite bonded together for they shared dark hidden secrets. At the sight of the warrior she quickly dropped the huge fish and skuttled over to the black cat. "Hey Hollow..." she said blanklly her eyes shinning sorrow for the cat. "How's WindClan life... you look down?" she stood just on the Border.[/glow]

Hollowheart blinked."i am sad for I feel... my time with the clans won't last much longer." Hollow couldn't explain. He liked it here but... "I was wondering to myself, what would have happened if I joined Leader's clan." He looked at Windpaw for a second. "Do you still carry dog claws with you?"

[glow=dodgerblue,2,300]Windpaw laughed. "Silly... when your mentor gives you your dog killing task... you keep those claws forever... they don't come off!" she tried to smile but a frown worked it's way out. She unsheathed her bright shiny claws. "Why?"[/glow]

Hollowheart smiled. "I used to have dog claws. It was when my parents died. I was about your age and a lot more careless. That's when I first met Leader. You should have seen her face. I thought for sure she'd kill me. Instead she raced over to me and tore off the dog claws. She then told me 'Never ever, wear those things. Only a cat who can't fight with his own claws ever cuold wear those things.' She has something against them I don't know what though. "Hollowheart shrugged. "She then did something I'll never forget. she offered me a place in her clan as the 'runner's apprentice. I wonder if I should have taken it" He looked at Windpaw closely. "What do you think?"

"I think you should not." said Mooneye as she walked up. "I meat Leader once, when I was a kit."

[glow=dodgerblue,2,300]Windpaw looked at him for a while with her mistifying stare but then retired her gaze tro the grassy floor. She quietly stepped over the border and pressed her flank to Hollowheart's. "Fist off... you realize you are a full warrior asking a undertrained apprentace that's too blinded by stupidity to understand real warriorship... when the world's garden is full of black roses... mine'll still be pink" her eyes bore into him. "But I beleive that following what you beleive is right... is right... no matter what... The flames inside be your guide always Hollow. If WindClan is willing and so is your zeal, hollowheart... go to where the flames take you... I hope that helped." her tail fluicked back and forth in hope. Then turning to Mooneye she snapped. "Hollow didn't ask you... yopu have gotten on my nervs one to many times!"[/glow]

Holowheart nodded. "Sort of my wise friend."He looked at her carefully for a minute. "Leader has a quote she uses. She told it to me the second time we met. It's, 'When the wisest cats don't have an answer look to a kit, for they may be the wisest of all." He added after she snapped at Moone eye. "Relax Windpaw, she just seems to have problems understanding, no tresspassng in other clan territories." He turned to Mooneye"Did you really meet Leader?"

"Yes, I meat her after my mothers death and when I got seperated from Wolfeyes. She wanted me to join too but I didn't."Said Mooneye.

Hollowheart looked at her."She must have asked out of pity. She doesn't usually ask clan cats. She asks rouges and fre-lancers since they tend to need order and something to do other than try to attack the clans. She broadens their views, you might say." He felt like rattling Mooneye's cage, for Mooneye was always going where she shouldn't. He looked at Windpaw. "Really."

"She did not know. I was not in ShadowClan at the time eather." Said Mooneye.

[Hollow]

"She doesn't usually accept cats from, any clan, be it Moonclan or Frostclan." He gave a small smile to Windpaw. "I think she down right hates Bloodclan." He turned back to Mooneye. "Maybe she was down on warriors. What did she ask you precisely?"

[glow=dodgerblue,2,300]She smiled at Hollowheart, but gave him a warning stare. Mooneye didn't know... and he knew how sensitieve she was about her roots. Windpaw was theroughly annoyed now! This ShadowClan cat was meddling between the two bonded friends and she despritely wanted to get away. She padded one more to her own side of the border and picked up the Greyling. "RiverClan'll be hungry y'know Hollow?" she said with a wink. "I gotta get this fishie back before The crows maul me. She took aq few steps with the over-large fish but slipped on it's tail, she laughed and got up again.[/glow]

"She asked if I would join her clan to be her daughter and be the next leader."Said Mooneye.

(Mooneye, please don't say things like that. I actually know her in real life and she'd get mad if you spread rumers like that around. She actually wants to become this site's sister site but's been down on her luck lately.)

Hollowheart gave a short laugh. "I'll see you later then," He turned back to Mooneye. "She always has a deputy and has enough daughters to keep her happy." He glared at her. "Why don't you go back to your own clan now, before I damage a relations with Shadowclan." He growled at Moomeye.

(It's an atomatic thing. The word your trying to spell can also mean ... a very in approprite thing.)

Hollowheart smiled with releave. Mooneye finally left. He went to the river and happily stuck his head into it.

Rowanpelt silently stalked Hollow and stood but three fox lengths away. He had become much better at stalking and spying.

Hollow was still oblivious to Rowanpelt. He raised his head and tared out at the sky for a moment.

As Hollowheart did this, Rowanpelt quickly decided on his course of action. He prepared to pounce, then let out a cry as he flung himself at Hollow. He hit the surprised cat in the back and the both fell into the water.
