Wingclaw padded out of the camp and over to a patch of short grass where other mentors were training their apprentices. The sound of cats practicing stalking, fighting, and other skills filled the entire area with sound. Wingclaw sat and waited for Rosepaw, who was a little ways behind, to catch up a bit.

Rosepaw ran up. She was panting from running so much. "I am here," she anaounced. She looked around. "What are we going to learn today?" she asked.

Wingclaw smiled. "Today I am going to teach you to successfully catch a rabbit." she meowed. "But first, why don't you try to catch one by yourself?"

Rosepaw smiled. "Okay, I can do that." She looked around for rabbits. They did seem to be everywhere. Se got in her pouncing position, and looked for a good one. All of a sudden, a rabbit came towards her. She got ready and pounced, missing the rabbit. She gave a little groan for she had hit her head, bot the rabbit.

Rosepaw nodded. She had another look around the oopen field. She looked at a particular rabbit. She moved a little closer and got ready to pounce. She jumped and missed the rabbit but was very close. She smiled at her success. She had missed the rabbit by 1 inch. "I was clse," she said trying to reassure herself.

Wingclaw watched her apprentice very carefully as she pounced at the next rabbit. "Very good. But you are pouncing too soon and moving too slowly." Wingclaw dropped into a hunting crouch as she saw on the next hill over a rappit nawing on a stalk of grass. Wingclaw inched forward swiftly, her paws seeming to glide across the ground. The rabbit lifted it's head as Winclaw neared. She slowed down her pace as the rabbit looked around itself. Suddenly Wingclaw bolted towards the rabbit, loose dirt went flying as the chase began. As the rabbit was about to dart into a hole on the side of a hill Wingclaw pounced and bit down on the rabbit's neck. She returned with the rabbit hanging from her jaws. She dropped it in front of her apprentice. "Now, you try." she meowed, hoping the she learned from the demonstration.

Rosepaw's eyes were wide open. She gave Wingclaw a nod. Looking around for the next rabbit she found a white snowy one. She moved towards it and tarting running. She the jumped on the rabbit and killed it in one swift move. Her first rabbit kill.

Wingclaw padded over to the apprentice. "Wonderfull!" She mewoed. She pointed with her head to a rabbit warren nearby." Now that you've learned I want to test your skill. Go over to that warren and catch as many rabbits as you can by sunhigh. Then you may come back to the camp and feed the elders with your catch. Is that clear?"

Rosepaw nodded. "Perfectly," she said. She gave Wingclaw a wink and ran off to rabbits.
