Option 1: The system we have now, where you gain ranks through posting. This means that you have to post a certain number to be an apprentice, warrior, etc.
Option 2: You will not gain ranks by the number of your posts, but Starclan will grant you your rank when you are ready.
Option 3: The ranks you gain through posting will be basic ranks, such as new member, advanced member, etc. You will put your clan ranks in your profile.

I have an idea!
0-20 Kit
20-80 Apprentice
80-550 Warrior.
550-Infinity Elder
GM can be called Leaders, and when a she-cat is going to have kits, there rank can be changed to Queen for a time.
Edit: Actually, I agree with the rank without posts. Although a clan cat should be come an Elder around 600 posts or something, don't you think?

Kit - 0 - 20 posts
Apprentice - 21 - 50 posts
Warrior/Queen: 51 - 700 posts
Elder: 771 - Limitless
A Deputy is givin the Rank Deputy by StarClan. This goes for Medicine Cats and Leaders too.
All in favour type Aye

What if ranks with posts only happen up to warrior? so then you can ask for medincine cat, deputy, leader, ect.?

1-49 kit
50-99 Apprentice
100-until you ask Warrior
To be a medicine cat, deputy, ect, you have to ask Starclan and/or the Clan leaders

I prefer when the clan leader tells you your rank. It makes you earn your rank, and is less confusing.

I believe one should stay apprentice until Starclan decides they are ready. Because they could just junk post on General for awhile, then they could become a Warrior in under a day!

I Hate when 3 of my apprentices wanted to be warriors right after I said 'i'll be your mentor' and they had already sent StarClan a message and gotten a reply.  I had only ONE obidient apprentice, Icestorm!! |

Well apprentices could simply have enough stars to be a Warrior or even an Elder but in the RP story they are still apprentices. That's how I did it.
