Battle at Mothermouth

[Hollow]

Hollowheart looked at the cat."I promised I'd see if his heart was black." He told her. She looked horrified at him. He placed his paw on the rouges chest and doug into it. The rouge twitched then died. Hollowheart took out the rouges heart. It was like any other heart, red. He tossed it away and left.

[Willowtail]

Willowtail dispatched the tortoiseshell she-cat and followed Hollowheart out.
"Why did you knock me out?" She asked with quiet venom.

[Hollow]

"Because you were about to get yourself killed for a pointless cause." He ran faster remembering what his mother said his destony was.

When darkness vanquishes the one you love,
You will vanquish the Darkness,
And then you will slowly waste away
Until at last death claims you.

It was an old prophecy, but Hollowheart knew it was still true.

[Willowtail]

Willowtail sped up aswell.
"You doubt my strength?" She asked with deeper venom

[Hollow]

"No I doubt you skill," He said to her. He suddenly stopped."How many full fledged killers have you fought!? How long has it been since you killed another cat.? Do you think I'm going to stand by and watch you get yourself Killed!" He looked menciling at her.

[Willowtail]

"Actually I took the lives of many Rouges." Willowtail replied. She was not proud of it but she was not going to be treated like an Apprentice. Then she had an idea.

[Hollow]

Hollowheart looked at her."Cat, you were not prepared to fight Darkfur. You know you weren't so don't try to say you were." He continued on his way again.

[Willowtail]

Willowtail sped ahead of Hollowheart, spun round and stood in his way.
"You know nothing about me or my abilities." She snarled. And then she sprang at Hollowheart.

[Hollow]

Hollowheart dodged and sprang on to Willowtail's back. "I'm not going to play childish games with you Willowtail." He hissed into her ear. He got of her and started on his way again.

[Willowtail]

Willowtail just sat there. Questions filled her mind: Is he right? Why did I spring at him? Were the most common ones. And then another question made her jump a foot in the air, Where was Darkfur and the Moonstone!?
"Wait, Hollowheart!" She yowled, "Where did Darkfur and the Moonstone go?"

[Wingstar]

(Uh...they didn't take the moonstone did they?)

Hollow stopped for a second and thought. Then he started walking again and told her in a cold voice."I don't know and I don't care."

[Willowtail]

"Hollowheart?" Willowtail continued uncertaintly, "Are you OK?" When he did not reply Willowtail said, "Hollowheart, I care about you."

[Hollow]

"I care about you too." Hollowheart whispered."I just don't care in the way you do." He kept on walking, walking to Windclan. He vaguely wondered when she would walk towards Shadowclan.

[Willowtail]

"Hollowheart," Willowtail began, "I want to show you something. Will you come? It's important."

[Hollow]

"I can't," Hollowheart said impatiently."I have to get back to my clan. What is it you want to show me?"

[Willowtail]

Willowtail flinched. She was hurt by his words. "You will see when you come."

[Hollow]

Hollowheart sighed."I'm not so sure now that you aren't my sister," He said turning around to follow Willowtail."You act just like them." He smiled at the happy memories of his sisters.

[Willowtail]

"Don't change the subject!" Willowtail snapped, "Hollowheart I need you to come and see this! You won't forgive me if you don't."

[Hollow]

"All right!" he said exsaperated.He sighed and said."Let's go before they start looking for me." He loked at her stricken face and sighed again. "Sorry I snapped at you." he said.

[Willowtail]

Willowtail nodded and led Hollowheart to a glade. Lying there was a she-cat. Her shallow breathing came out in gasps and her swollen belly showed she was close to giving birth. Willowtail nodded at Hollowheart's questioning face.
"She is you mother," Willowtail explained: "She wasn't dead, Hollowheart, just knocked out. I looked where you said your family had died and found her," She then beckoned to Hollowheart with her tail and whispered, "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do for her. When she has her Kits she will die. I told her about you and she said that she wants you to take them to WindClan and care for them."
The old she-cat looked up at Hollowheart and opened her mouth in one last word, "Please...?"

[Hollow]

"You don't look like my mother,' he said in a soft confused voice. He looked concerned about this cat and took a step closer and sniffed her fur. His eyes opened wide with amazment and a little fear. "Nana," he spoke in a loud surprised voice."What are you doing here? Nana you can't die, you just can't" He looked sadly at the dieing cat and felt a a sadness inside him.

[Willowtail]

The old Queen's contractions began. Willowtail darted away and fetched the herbs. She kept an eye out for Kits.
"Hollowheart! Soothe her!" Willowtail snapped. Hollowheart began to lick the she-cat's face. A little tabby kit had appeared. Willowtail began to lick it, getting it's breathing regular and speeding up it's heart beat. A little head had appeared and was fast coming out. Willowtail quickly placed the tabby Kit next to the Queen and started to lick the grey one. She placed it next to it's sibling and waited whilst a third Kit, black this time, arrived. Willowtail followed the same procedure. Then a tiny ginger one came. Willowtail began to lick but stopped. This one smelt of disease. She restarted licking and waited for a little squeak. It's small body was motionless.
Willowtail looked up at Hollowheart. The Queen had died.
"I'm sorry Hollowheart," Willowtail began, "I hadn't realised she was so close to her time. One of the Kits was stillborn. But you have two healthy toms and a little she-kit. The black one is the female. If it was up to me I would name them Tigerkit, Darkkit and Nightkit, but you can change the names if you want."
Hollowheart was silent.
"If you can't take them into WindClan then I'll look after them in ShadowClan, but. . .but they're your kin so you can choose." Still no answer. Willowtail sighed. "Who was she?"

[Hollow]

Hollowheart shrugged then told Willowtail Nana's story."She was related to my mother, I don't know how. I don't even know her true name. After my mother was banished Nana had grown sad and irritated. She decided to go look for my mother and found her, but mother was dieing by then. When she finaly let go of live, she helped bury her. I ..never saw her again til now." He licked the old she-cat's face. "Mother told me stories about her. She said I get my eyes and determinatio from her." He gazed sadly at the old she-cat."Willowtail... have you ever wanted kits?"

[Willowtail]

Willowtail blushed and murmured something to herself.
Aloud she said, "I've always wanted Kits, Hollowheart, I always wanted your Kits. But I couldn't take them to ShadowClan without a Queen caring for them."

[Hollow]

"I'll wait till they're older." he said in a numb voice."Then, I want you to care for one of them. I can't say I'd be the best parent to them. I want you to at least train one of them in the healing, so they wouldn't waqlk the same bloody path I do."

[Willowtail]

"One of our Queens recently lost her Kits," Willowtail said, "Maybe she could take in the Kits. I could not train all of them as Medicine Cats but I promise I will train one of them," She picked up Nightkit then put her down again, "Place Darkkit on my back, Hollowheart," He did so and Willowtail said, "Now place Tigerkit just behind Darkkit." With saying that she picked up Nightkit and began to steadily walk in the direction of the ShadowClan Camp. Then she turned round.
"Thank you Hollowheart."

[Hollow]

Hollowheart sat still looking at her and the kits for a moment."No Willowtail, thank you." Before he left he yelled to her."Don't forget to tell them of me." He then dissapeared.

[Willowtail]

"I will, Hollowheart, I will." Willowtail said to his retreating back. Nightkit squealed in her jaws. Gently Willowtail began to walk back to camp.
