Garden

[Winterwind]

Pepper lay beneath the willow tree at the edge o the garden. It was surronded by rose bushes and flowers. She sighed and looked toward the strange stone that two-legs called a tombstone. This was where Smoke was buried. She remembered that day vividly, though she had been young. She remembered the Bradfords coming into the garden with a shiny black case with a strange gold symbol. She had seen them put Smoke within it. She saw them bury it in this spot. There had been tears and the sound of cries had filled the air. At last the Bradford had but flowers here and gone inside to mourn. Pepper now came her to think, feeling calm beneath the willow tree. "Mother," She said softly. "What were you like?" She stared at the stone and closed her eyes.

Rowan came up to her. He new that his siter missed their mother dreadfullly. "Are you ok?" he asked shyly.

Pepper opened her eyes. "Yea, perfect." She sat up. "You?"

Moonstar came into the garden. She had to say her final goodbyes to her old friend, Smoke. She then noticed the two kits. "Hello."She said.

Pepper looked to the new cat. "Hello," She said. "Who are you?"

[*:Moonstar~Melodypaw:*]

"I am Moonstar, Leader of ShadowClan. I was a friend of your mothers."Said Moonstar.

smoke said:

Pepper opened her eyes. "Yea, perfect." She sat up. "You?"

"Fine"

Roawn looked at her admiring her. "Wow,"he said. "I want to be a leader when i grow up," he said happily.

"Maybe you will little one."Said Moonstar in a kind voice. "I heard of your mothers death and I came to say my goodbyes."She said.

Rowan smile turned into a frown. He hated remebering his mother's death. He loved her so much and missed her. He lay down and started to groom himself.

Pepper glanced at the cat. "It's painful to remember those who have gone from here." She padded over to her brother. "You alright?" She asked.

[*:Moonstar~Melodypaw:*]

Moonstar could see the sadness in the kits eyes."I know how it feels to lose a mother, I lost mine when I was not to much older then you both."Said Moonstar in a conforting voice.

Pepper shrugged. "It's more painful to Strm and Rowan" she said silently to the older cat. "They knew her much longer than I did." She looked at the grave. "I really have no memory of ho she looked, though I can imagine. I do remember her voice." She closed her eyes for a minute then shrugged. "But that's all."

Moonstar looked at the kit."Aleast your mother wasen't killed by a dog infront of your eyes."Said Moonstar as she went and bowed to the grave, saying her goodbyes in silence.

Pepper sighed. "Why do cats try to compare grievences?" She asked looking towards the willow tree. "Pain is Pain, Sorrow is Sorrow, one cannot be greater than another." She turned her gaze to the cat. "Do you not agree?"

"I agree. Its just so hard to forget that day."Said Moonstar. "I have to go, farwell."Said Moonstar as she went off.

Pepper shook her head. She wondered if the cat actually understood or if it had just ignored the words she had said. She sighed and looked towards her brother.

storm came up behind them and tackled pepper,she was always hyper,and her mother's death had made her stronger

Pepper rolled and glared at her sister. "Can't you see we're having a serious moment?" She hissed, beggining an argument with her sister as usual.

"You know I loved her too"she said sitting up,"But she would want us to go on and get stronger,wouldn't she,I'm sorry if I hurt you,I was just trying to make you happy"she said,her ears drooping

Pepper smiled."Nah, your right. I just like being the serious one." She smiled at her sister.

she returned her smile,"I can tell",she muttered,"What clan was mom in,and what clan is dad in?"she asked tilting her small head

Darkfur was lisening to Mooneye and jumped down after she left."Mommy wasn't ever in a clan, I...I was in two, Wind, and ShadowClan, I was deputy in both, wish to know more?"said Darkfur

Darkfur smiled."Generations and Generations ago clans were formed over time into four, the cats of the forest where called ThunderClan.*Started to speak in a strong voice* They were brave and loyal to what is know as the Warrior Code. Then there was another, formed on a farm. It was called RiverClan, for the river that seperated it from the others.*Starts to speak in a soft voice* They were the ones that can swim with ease and are experts on catching fish. But in my expereance with them, I find that they are very, very, cowardly. Then there was a clan formed on a moor highland, high above the others. The one I was born to and was deputy of was called WindClan. They relly on there agileness and speed.*Starts to speak in a dark scary voice* Then last, there was a clan, formed in the earry marshes of the forest, It was called ShadowClan. They are the most fearce, and probobly one of the worst of all the clans. It is said' that the west winds blow over there land, chilling there hearts." Darkfur said finnishing the story of the Clans.

"wow"she said her eyes,wider than before,"which one do we belong to?"she asked,her fur chilled by the story

"You know Darkfur, not all ShadowClan cats have cold hearts."Said Moonstar with a purr out of nowhere.

"Tell me more dad"she pleaded

Darkfur looked at the small kits."Saddly you are not of a clan, you are what the clans call Kittypets, or house-cat." Darkfur sighed,"but if you were looking at blood, you would WindClan cats." He turned to Mooneye."Its an elders tale"

"kittypet?"she asked tilting her head,"Is that a good thing?"
