Smoke lay in garden moaning now and again. Her twolegs had left to go get something, she wasn't sure what. She had gone into the garden and had started to kit. But something was wrong, there was to much blood and she was starting to lose consiousness. She hoped he twolegs would come soon.

Darkfur walked out into the gardan. He could smell the scent of blood."Smoke, Smoke, whats happing,"yelled Darkfur in the gardan. He came close to her."SMOKE," yelled Darkfur when he saw the blood.

Smoke's eyes fickered open. "Darkfur, is that you?" She asked in a weak voice. She felt numb and tired. She heard the distant roar of a monster but payed no attention to it. She let out a moan.

Smoke smiled slightly to. "I.. l-l-lo-ove you to," She said gaspng in pain.She nearly fainted and closed her eyes.

Smoke eyes flickered open again. "It's.. okay ... Darkfur," She said panting. She looked at him for a second. "I'll ..aways be ..with you." She squeezed them shut again and gave a moan.

The Bradfods walked into their house laughing. They's gone to get some cat toys for Smoke and her soon to come kittens. They were both excited at the prospect of little kittens in their house. Mrs.Bradford looked around. "Smoke," She called her brow furrowing in worry as she looked at her husband. She heard a meow come from somewhere outside. They both rushed outside and wht they saw made Mrs Bradford yell. "SMOKE!"

(The Bradfords)
Ms Bradford rushed to Smoke's side. "Alan, we have o get her to vet." She said looking at her husband. He nodded. "I'll start the car," He said and noticed Darkfur and something dark laying next to t. He walkee over and picked it up gently. It was a little brown kitten. He quickly ran inside to get towles. He rubbed the kit until it squeaked. He smiled. "Vivian this little guys going to make it." Then he remembered what he was supposed to be doing. He held the kit as he started the car."Get smoke and come quickly he shouted. His wife gently scoped up Smoke andran as quickly as she dared to the car.

Darkfur ran after the two-leg. He did not want to leave his beloved mate, he wanted to be right next to the female two-leg. Darkfur begain meowing franticly.

Mrs. Bradford stopped for a moment. "Alan, I'm taking this cat to," She said as she looked into Darkfur's pleading eyes. Her husband gave her a look and she glared at him. He sighed and snapped back. "Alright," and started the car. Mrs. Bradford let him go in first and came in after him.

(Smoke again)
Smoke gave a weak smile. She felt numb accept for the pain Mrs Bradford rubbed her head. She closed her eyes agan.She hard a squeak from her little kit. "It's ok," She said in a soothing voice. "Don't worry, you'll be alright." She broke off as fresh waves of pain hit her.
(Back to the Bradfords.)
Mrs. Bradford looked to the dark brown cat to Smoke again. There was blood on her dress, but she didn't care. "Hold on Smoke, hold on." She said repeatdly and was close to crying. In this time another kitten came. She was grey with black stripes. Mr. Bradford handed her a towel and the other little kit. "Here, see if you can wake that one up." He said softly. He glanced at his wife, worry in his eyes. Then he glanced at the kittens. "The brown one will be Rowan," He said suddenly. His wife gave him a surprised look but then shook her head. "Then the grey one will be storm." She said simplely, rubbing the kittntill it let out a squeak.

Darkfur gently put Storm and Rowan by there weak mom. He started to lick them.

Smoke opened one eye weakly and looked at her kits. "It's ok Storm," She said softly. "I'm here, mommy's here." She moved her head closer to her kits.

(The Bradfords again)
They had finally arrived. Mrs.Bradford picked the kits up gently and Mr. Bradford picked up Smoke. They quickly walked in. There was little people here at this time and they rushed to the front desk, "It's an emergency," Mrs Bradford said and he story came out in a rush of words. Thelady nodded and told them to go to the emergency room, and that the vet would see them right away. They went and layed Smoke gently on the table along with the kits. The docter came in and after taking a quick look at Smoke's vital signs and a few other things he shookhis head. "I'm afraid there's nothing we can do," He said softly. Mrs.Bradford began to sob into Mr.Bradford's shirt. He held her close.
(Back to Smoke)
Smoke panted hard on the table she felt her kits but couldn't open her eyes. She felt a rush ofpain as the last kit came and felt dizzy. She heard it squeal as the docter rubbed it and managed to open her eyes to see her last kit.

Mrs. Bradford looked to Smoke's last kit and pet the little kitten's head. "Pepper she said softly. Little Pepper squired at her touch. She smiled. The docter put Pepper next to her mother and stepped backwords.
(Pepper)
Pepper squirmed close to her mother. She had no idea what was going on and wanted her mother.
(Smoke)
Smoke licked her kits on the head. "I love you" she said softly, feeling more tired than before. She lay her head down and looked to her mate. "Darkfur?"

Darkfur looked at his mate. She didn't move very much. No, no, thought Darkfur. He scrached against the glass. He felt tears come down his face. When he heared her speak he moved toward her."Yes, Smoke"
