Flamefur hovered just outside the camp. Did Stormstar say I was dead? Who became deputy? Are my kits alive? He had left, it had been too much. His kits had rejected him, and he had wanted to get away. Now he was back. He wanted to see his kits, he was worried if they were even alive. News had filtered back to him about everything that had happened, about all the battles. His heart had been with his kits, he had hoped that they were fine. They probably still hate me. He nervously liked his chest fur and gulped, padding forward into the center of the camp, not sure what was about to happen or even if he would be accepted. Will people remember me? He just stood there, waiting for something, anything to happen.

[glow=black,2,300] "Flamefur, is that you?" asked a voice. A beautiful young she-cat slowly walked over to Flamefur. He fur was the color or the rushing river and her eyest he color of saphire. The she-cat was a resonabily small cat, but it was still eaisy to notice she was a warrior. The she-cat also had a very long tail, that she used to trip on when she was an apprintice and now and then she still did. That she-cat was Streampelt.
Streampelt couldn't belivewhat she was seeing. Flamefur had been the deputy when she was only a meer apprintice, training with her friend, Northpaw and her mentore Dragonheart. Streampelt had never really been good friends with the deputy, but she went on a few hunting patrols with him and also admired him as a deputy. [/glow] |

He smelled the air. It was him. He was here. How dare he just show up like that, completely ignoring me for moons, and here he is, back from his long expedition. Frynose remembered his father and he remembered right before his father left, they had had a major fight, Frynose hadn't forgiven his dad.
Morninglily had tried to talk him to apologizing and forgiving his father, it had almost worked.. but now.. his hatred was too much.
"Well, if it isn't the wonderful Warrior back from his big expedition." Hatred flew in his eyes as he stared at his father.

"Streampaw? Well, I guess it isn't Streampaw any more is it?" Flamefur smiled, at first he had been afraid nobody would remember him, obviously this was not the case. Then he caught a familiar scent. Frynose. Flamefur turned around, and let out a long purr. He knew Frynose wasn't happy to see him, but he ignored his comments. "Frynose, I'm glad to see you're okay." He walked over to his son, wishing to touch him. "I'm so sorry I left you, so sorry...."

Frynose ignored his father's happiness to see him. He didn't share the same feelings. "Came back to ruin my life? So how's Lilyfur... good I trust. With your new kits.. forgetting your old ones." Dappleface hadn't come out, but she didn't feel the same hate for their father like Frynose did. "I've been fine. Just fine." Sadness throbbed inside.. the sadness of a kit not having all his parents. He had lost his mother, and his father repays him but not seeing his warrior ceremony, and leaving the Clan soon after.

[glow=black,2,300] Streampelt purred,"It is Streampelt now" she said happily. Streampelt was about to ask Flamefur how his mission had been when she noticed Frynose. Streampelt knew that Frynose was his son, and of corse Frynose would be the one to hate him. Streampelt really didn't want to be in the middle of it all so she disided she would talk more with the deputy later. "I will talk with you later Flamefur" she said quitly before running off.

"Frynose, please. Can't we put that in the past? I'm alone, I've come back. I know, I've made some horrible mistakes, and I'm sorry." Flamefur felt anguish rise in him. This was one of the problems that hade made him leave. He had hoped that Frynose's anger would have died, but obviously that wasn't the case. He heard Streampelt's words, he would have to talk to her later, apologive for what must appear like rudeness. Those thoughts flicked through his mind before returning to the present trouble. "I never stopped loving you or your sister."

"No.. you didn't stop loving us, but you loved us less. You loved Lilyfur enough to leave us. You loved your new kits. You never talked to me anymore.. then you left." He turned around, flicking his tail up and down, frowning and almost crying. The thoughts of his father and him playing when he was a kit was strong, but he still couldn't find enough love to forgive his father. He had been so proud of his father, then his father abandoned the Clan and made his reputation suffer. Could he forgive his father for that?

Flamefur opened his mouth but no sound came out. He sighed and sat down, staring at Frynose's back. "I know there is no reason for you to accpet this, but I love you, I never loved you less. Just because I fell in love again meant that I loved you less."

His hatred had calmed down, but his anger still ran through her veins. "Then why did you leave, ruining your reputation and mine!" Tears began to leave his eyes and trickle down to the ground. "I just wanted you to be there through training and my warrior ceremony.. but you weren't. Why should I be here now?"

Flamefur felt tears leak from his eyes. "I'm sorry, I wanted to be there for your cermony, I wanted to be there so bad. I can't change that. I know I have no honor here, I know I hurt you. Don't you think I have regreted these mistakes? That is the reason I came back, I couldn't leave you the way things were. I wanted to come back and make things right." He ran to his son, he couldn't hold back.

Frynose held his tears back, trying not to cry and give in. Maybe Morninglily is right, maybe I should just forgive and forget. Maybe I should let it all go... maybe... His mind was whirling. Could he forgive? Or had he become too corrupt. He touched his father's nose, the first time in seasons.

Flamefur let out a long purr as his son touched his nose. It was the first time he and his son had touched in such a long time, it felt so good. Flamefur tenativly leaned forward and wrasped his tongue of Frynose's ear, he had missed his son so much that any contact was healing.

[Mind if I join? haven't posted in a long time...ugh it feels like forever!]
Feathertail sat in front of the Nursery with her eyes slightly opened but she couldn't really see anything, she was just a kit when Flamefur had been deputy for that short period of time, and then when she was an apprentice some reason he had gone missing. She looked firmly at the cats and noticed it was Flamefur. He had returned to be with his family and clan, it was amazing to see all the changes. She just gazed at all the cats that surrounded the wonderful tom that had once been Deputy.
