Silverwater had decided to get away from everyone else. She felt so out of place in the Clan, but her brother felt at home. She just wanted to feal like he did at home and safe. She was wondering when a RiverClanner would come to this place, but she stayed put, where she was. Thinking about the days events.

The moon was shining brightly as Silentkit walked out of camp. Tiny stars dotted the sky as she walked, her eyes on her paws and her tail dragging in the dust. There weren't any kits left in the Nursery, she was alone...
Suddenly her eyes met with Silverwater's and she froze. Would she tell Dragonstar she was out here? Kits weren't allowed out of camp at night...

Silverwater gazed at the young kit. "Well, are you not supposed to be in the camp, little one?" she asked gently, "You don't want to get in trouble I see." She looked back up at the sky, her water-blue eyes on the moon. "Well?" she asked looking back down at the small kit.

Silentkit shook her head. She couldn't tell this cat anything for one reason. She was mute. Silentkit couldn't speak to anyone, no matter how hard she tried. But it appeared that Silverwater didn't know... Silentkit shook her head again gently.

"Ah. I see your problem, you can not speak, can you?" she asked gently again, still looking up at the stars, then back down a the kit. "Well that's okay. I used to be mute too, then I got my voice." she sighed. Her gentle gaze still locked onto the little kit.

Silentkit again shook her head. There was no way she'd be able to speak, the medicine cat of her old clan told her. Then her ears pricked. Silverwater used to be mute? But... she could talk fine now. Silentkit would never be able to speak, she would be silent forever. Silentkit looked up at the sky, remembering her three siblings. They all had disabilites too. Soundkit, her older brother, was deaf. She could communicate best with him. But they were all gone...

Silentkit smiled and pressed close to Silverwater, tears on the brink of her eyes. Suddenly she heard something, like a cat padding through the undergrowth. The cat sounded younger then Silverwater, but barely older then Silentkit. She flicked her tail in the direction she heard the sound, trying to show that she heard something.

Silentkit shook her head in answer to Silverwater's question. She was once in a clan called SnowClan, but ended up here after many, many strange events. Silentkit looked ar Solarpaw with gentle blue eyes, and the corners of her mouth slowly lifted to a smile. He seemed nice enough.

"So you don't have a home?" Solarpaw mewed looking at his sister. Silverwater giggled at her brother and gave the kit a quick lick on the head. Solarpaw laughed back and looked back at the kit.

Silentkit shook her head. She had a home, it was RiverClan. At first, Silentkit didn't understand what Solarpaw meant, making her head hurt slightly. She shuffled her paws, as if embarresed about something, and looked up at Silverwater confusedly.

Silentkit smiled, and looked back and forth between Solarpaw and Silverwater. How did they know each other? Were they brother and sister? Mentor and apprentice? Just friends? Rivals? Silentkit wanted to ask, but of course couldn't. Her tail thumped on the ground, and her tiny claws sheathed and unsheathed. She should be an apprentice soon, and she couldn't wait. Apprenticeship would be great! Her smile widened as she thought of it.

Well, that was conveinent. Silentkit thought to herself, laughing on the inside. Solarpaw and Silverwater were brother and sister. They were lucky... Silentkit's other siblings, Soundkit, Scentkit and Sightkit, were probably all back in SnowClan, being apprentices together. She looked at her paws at the thought of it.

Silentkit shook in Silverwater's grip. She was five moons old, she didn't need, or want, to be carried. She started thrashing wildly. Apprentices weren't carried, and Silentkit would become an apprentice eventually. She wouldn't be forgotten.

Silentkit nodded in thanks, and started for home, walking high and mighty as if she were a warrior. She smiled playfully back at Silverwater and Solarpaw, before heading home.
