Thinking, wishing...(Fireice only)

Tanshadow sat on a rock, looking out over marshes. He hadn't been in Shadowclan long, but he was beginning to think of it as home. His name brought him some comfort in this case. Tanshadow. Maybe he did belong in Shadowclan. What did it matter? He was with Fireice, that was all that mattered.

Fireice walked up to Tanshadow, her gray eyes confused and worried. The fronds shivered around her as she walked by and her claws sank slightly into the marshy gorund. The scent of Tanshadow made her slightly perk up...but dread what she had to tell him. Tanshadow...I never knew this would happen... Fireice jumped up on the rock beside him. After purring a greeting and rubbing her cheek against his muzzle, Fireice spoke. "Tanshadow...I have to tell you something..."

Tanshadow returned the nuzzle. "What is it? You sound worried?" He drew his head back, staring into her grey eyes.

Fireice's whiskers twitched. "I..." I'm what?! Tanshadow...you're not in counted as a ShadowClan warrior yet. Did I break the warrior code? "Tanshadow, I'm..." A kick in her belly made Fireice wince. "I'm...pregnant. Tanshadow, I'm pregnant."

Tanshadow's eyes widdened. A wide smile split his face. "Y-you are? This is great!" He leaped into the air before nuzzling her again. Then it hit him. He wasn't offically part of Shadowclan yet. He pulled back, looking into her eyes again. "Do you think Dogstar will be angry?"

Fireice didn't smile, she didn't laugh, she wasn't happy. Will Dogstar be mad? That's a rhetorical question...For one thing, I really don't want to find out. But, Fireice instinctively licked her chest fur. It won't be unnoticeable for long. I'm already three moons pregnant. "I-I r-r-really don't know Tanshadow. But, whatever happens, until death do we part...I'll stay right by your side." A small purr broke the uncomfortable silence that followed.

Tanshadow could tell how worried she was. He purred and nuzzled her. "I promise I will never leave you. I will protect you and our kits no matter what happens." He licked her shoulder.

Fireice still was worried. But, Tanshadow had proved countless times that he would stay with her forever.

"When will I get to see our kits?" Tanshadow asked. He knew they had a problem on their paws, but he still couldn't help but be excited.

[glow=blue,1,000]Fireice frowned. She had been pregnant for two moons and there was probably another two moons before the kits came. "Tanshadow, I feel like this isn't right..." She trailed off, lost for words. 'I don't know, another two moons or something."

Concern showed clean in Tanshadows eyes. "Why? Why does this not feel right to you?" There was no reproach in his voice, he genuinly wanted to know his mate's heart. He hated seeing her distressed.

Fireice frowned. "Well, you're not a ShadowClan cat. So wouldn't it look like I went against the Warrior code if I had kits who were half ThunderClan and ShadowClan? Also, I don't even have Warrior blood within me...They won't even be part ShadowClan...Only ThunderClan and..." She gulped. "Kittypet." That word burned her tongue. Fireice hated calling herself a kittypet.

Tanshadow licked her ear. "That doesn't mean they can not grow up to be great warriors. Hopefully Dogstar will except them and they can grow up here in Shadowclan."
