[Morninglily]

Otterpaw trotted in trough the dead grass looking for badgerpaw, she was searching around for him, but couldn't see anything in the morning fog, her breath was short from running, and her mentor was out on a hunting patrol, but she wanted to talk with badgerpaw, she had seen him out once before but he looked so sad, and she wanted to tell him a dream of hers, she meowed into the brisk morning and searched arounda gain, her light green eyes wandered over the field, only to see a couple of rabbits jump, and spring away into warm burrows.

Badgerpaw's blackand white pelt glimmerd in the sunlight as he scouted along the plains, looking for Sage Roots.His paws hit the ground softly,making a soft *pit,pat* as he walked along.The thick morning fog made it so Badgerpaw felt as if he would sufficate.In such condition as these he would normally stay inside the den, but without Sage Roots cat's paws would begain to crack and he would have to lisen to winny elders all day long.

Badgerpaw sniffed the air for the bitter sent of the Sage when he sented Otterpaw.Otterpaw was a apprintice from Windclan and he often noticed her roaming around the camp.Badgerpaw slowly let out a short sigh of annoyance as he turned around to scout about for Otterpaw,"Hey Otterpaw, you there" he called out into the mist, hoping to hear Otterpaw's voice in responce.

"Badgerpaw!" she mewed and ran up the hill to meet him, she gasped for air and looked into his dark eyes, "I had a dream...." she trailed off, and bent her head, she looked up and her eyes began to sweel with tears, "Yarrowkit...she came to me last night.....she said something close to this.." she trailed off, her golden and light brown pelt glistened in the foggy air, little moist dropplets fell on her pelt and coold the heat that was going from her body, "Badger and otter meet face to face, and eye to eye, one will see love and one will see a new beginning" she looked at him, her bright green eys sprakeling, "I thought that I would ask you what it meant...I got really confused, do you know what it means?" she mewed and smiled at him.

Badgerpaw felt his fur start to brisle as he thought about what it said."No!I-I-I don't know what it meens" he hisseds and whiped his head around so Otterpaw couldn't see his tears.Though Badgerpaw really knew what it ment, he was about to betray Starclan...again...just fro the happyness of HIS life.Suddenly Badgerpaw relised that he might of be a bit harsh on Otterpaw,"I am sorry-I am just a bit grumpy today" he lied,"I think It meens you will find a love life among the harshest of creatures".Badgerpaw turned to face Otterpaw again, his amber eyes shinning into Otterpaw's green ones.

"It's okay..my mentor is a little grumpy" she smiled, "But really?...it means that I will find love of the harshest of creatures?" she mewed and kinda gave a little bounce to her hop, "Wow...thank you badgerpaw!" she mewed and nudged his cheek with her nose, "Do you need any help?" she mewed and looked at him with questioning eyes.

Badgerpaw let out a soft purr,"Yea, I need Sage Roots for cracked paws.You have no Idea how grumpy the elders get when there paws are cracked" he said softly,"Plus Sage usually grows near water and it is almost impossible to find any here and I really don't want to go near the river without someone with me!"

Otterpaw smiled and nodded, she gave a light purr back, "Well there is a very small stream only a mile away from here close to riverclan, but it won't be to far to go and find some there" she mewed. Her bright green eyes glowed with happiness she was glad she could help badgerpaw with something.

A shape drifted over Badgerpaw's head. It was Goldenpaw. She had to break her vow to her mother and Angelheart. She landed right in front of Badgerpaw. "Badgerpaw I have to tell you something" she whispered. She knew he couldn't see her yet but he could hear and when he did...

Badgerpaw, hearing his Goldenpaw's angelic voice sweep across the wind, quickly had to think of some way to get OTterpaw away so he could talk to GOldenpaw."OTterpaw-You go on ahead I need to- do some medicine cat buisness!!" he said and ran far enough away from otterpaw that she could nither hear or see him,"GOldenpaw?" he called out

"Badgerpaw I have a message for you" she whispered. "It's about Otterpaw. Can't you see she is healthy? She won't die and you need someone to help you. You can't dwell in the past forever. Even if it means breaking the warrior code. I love you Badgerpaw. Now that I have done this I fear that I can not return to Starclan so I will be by your side forever" she meowed. Then she stood on the grass of Windclan beside her love.

Badgerpaw shook his head,"No- I will never love Otterpaw the way I have and always will love you..."He whisperd.

"No you won't you can't love two cats the same way" meowed Goldenpaw. "But please don't worry about me I died so what I am still here with you aren't I" she whispered. Then she walked in front of him.

[badgerpaw]

Badgerpaw felt astrang sesation of bitter-sweet.A deep purr rumbled in his throat and he brushed up agents Goldenpaw's beautiful pelt "GOldenpaw..."

"Badgerpaw" whispered Goldenpaw. She didn't want him acting like a lovesick tom right then. Right then she need Badgerpaw the medicince cat apprentice but she couldn't help it. She twined her tail around him gently.

Badgerpaw nuzzled his best friend/ lover.Badgerpaw licked GOldenpaw's ear .

"Oh Badgerpaw" purred Goldenpaw. Then she licked his ear. "I love you so much but we all have to let something go" she whispered. Then she nodded toward Otterpaw. You talk to her I"ll stay here.

Badgerpaw flicked his tail at Otterpaw,"I havn't seen you in forever- I want to stay by your side forever" he said aftly and gentaly, making sure to put every ounce of emotion into his words.

[goldentail]

Goldenpaw drifted over by Otterpaw. "Hello" she whispered. Her form was slowly becoming clearer as she left Starclan and returned to earth.

Otterpaw turned around and felt her fur rise, her face was emotionless, her eyes wide, "w-who are you?" she mewed studdering on the first word, this she-cat was very pretty and probably knew badgerpaw, but was she talking to her? "are you talking to me?" she mewed and looked at the golden she-cat. "Your Goldenpaw..." she gasped and noticed, "I've heard stories about you..." she trailed off and looked at badgerpaw, and turned her head away from him and looked over her shoulder. Otterpaw looked at goldenpaw and gave a sweet sincere smile, "I-I have to go...I'm not feeling well." she mewed and looked at the two cats, and walked away and then started to run to the small stream.

"Oh no" meowed Goldenpaw. Then she gently stood in front of the cat. "Oh Otterpaw" she giggled. "Don't worry I can't come back to life. I am dead don't worry about me. Sure I love Badgerpaw but he needs to stop dwelling on my life. I am dead I died. End of Story" meowed Goldenpaw.

[Morninglily]

Otterpaw looked at her with eyes wide, "but it would never be the same...." she looked at goldenpaw, and then at badgerpaw, "besides, he'll never learn to love me like he loves you...I would..." she trailed off and looked at goldenpaw, her eyes still wide, but a light green shimmering in the day light.

"Honey listen to me" meowed Goldenpaw. She fixed her amber eyes on Otterpaw's green ones. "He is a medicine cat who is helpless because he has found an illness he can't cure all by himself. Don't you know that love is the only cure for a broken heart. Even companionship would help. He needs help. Maybe not love right away. Take it slow just relax and live your fullest. Let him learn to trust you. You don't need instant healing for a wound like that. He needs healing though. He needs to learn that even if he died then..." Goldenpaw died off. She couldn't burden Badgerpaw or Otterpaw with that dreadful news.

She nodded. Otterpaw felt just a little bit better, her crush on badgerpaw had been with her ever since she was a kit, but she felt also a sudden pang, that badgerpaw does not seek Otterpaw for his mate, but longs for his lost loved one.

Badgerpaw watched the two she-cats talk in great awe.The beautiful shade of Gold the reflected off of Goldenpaw's plet memorised his and he stared at her with ahppiness that she would be able to stay at her side forever.

Otterpaw looked at goldenpaw, "It will never be the same...."she whispered and looked sadly at badgerpaw. Otterpaw felt the sun rays hit her pelt, the light shot off of it, and suddenly her eyes were blue, Otterpaw felt different. "Badgerpaw!" a voice not Otterpaw's own escaped her mouth, suddenly otterpaw fell limp and a faded light brown cat appeared infront. "I have waited long for my time to be back here badgerpaw, life is not to waste, my sister should not have to spend time looking for love in the wrong places...look what happened to me and Goldenpaw...don't make a mistake you'll regret" she mewed and fadeed into the last light in Otterpaw's blank eyes.
Otterpaw woke up a sparkel in her eye, she felt shakey and couldn't get up, she looked around, "I really don't feel well, I have to go...." she felt tears seep into her eyes, she tripped over her paws, and tumbled practically down the hill crying.
