Meer stretched out,eyeing the cats, then saw her daughter and grinned proudly.
"That there is my daughter. You leave her alone. Also, touch her, and I will eat your brains." //lol// Meer hissed, amusement in her sharp voice. She turnedto Shard and licked her cheek.

"Eat their brains?" questioned Steps Soft with a small smile. She was pleased that her mother was happy. She turned to the two Windclanners. "Hi I am Steps Soft as you know I am Meer's daughter. Since she hasn't attacked you yet you must be getting along."

"actually shard was right, loners are judged wrongly. All the cats i know have told me meer was evil and doesn't care about anyone she just goes and kills cats not talking to them. meer, shard and you aren't that bad, actually friendly." creek said to the 3 loners respectfully.

"Oh Meer doesn't kill randomly. Only cats that ask for death. Ususally she talks to them and messes with their brains first" meowed Steps Soft. She walked over beside Shard. "Hi Auntie Shard."

"Very good" praised Steps Soft. She was pleased that cats would understand that so easily. "Many cats don't understand that, but of course she likes to kill but only when nessary to her."

"I don't go around killing cats, but if one came up to me and kept bothering me and was asking for a fight i would kill them if necessary too." creek said as if they were clan mates to the other cats. " and don't worry, even though i know you weren't, i won't tell the clan about this and i am sure sparrowpaw won't either." creek said kindly to the mis-understood cats.

Steps Soft dipped her head. "It is too bad you are not a loner because you would make a good one" meowed Steps Soft. Then she nodded good-bye to both Shard and Meer and disappeared into the shadows.

"Then follow me" Steps Soft's voice drifted back. She was giving the clanner a choice. The clanner understood and wasn't weak. Steps Soft could train her. She could be like Meer and Shard. She walked away letting Creek decide for herself.

Sparrowpaw understood about misunderstood cats. She was one. She had always been hated and shunned for as long as she could remember, until she came to WindClan. Still it took time for the others to get used to her. She wanted to go with Soft Steps, to be a loner, but she was torn by her loyalty to WindClan. "Soft Steps!" she called out to the loner. "I want to.....to.... come with you to be a loner." she blurted out at last. She was thankful for everything that WindClan had taught her, but it wasn't the life that she wanted. She wanted to be free as Clan life was too crowded. She thought of the friends she would be leaving behind, but she knew her destiny wasn't with a group of cats. Her destiny was living off of her wits and no one elses. She had lived too long like a loner to truly go back to living a Clan life. She turned to Creek. "Tell Wingstar my choice and that I won't forget what WindClan did for me. Sparrowpaw followed Soft Steps into the shadows.

Meer nodded to Sparrowsong, proud of her daughter for saving her a speech. Of course, she didn't mind killing randomly, but it wasn't moral. Meer was moral... Sometimes. Shaking her head at Creek, she bounded towards the labyrinth of darkness she called home, waiting to escort Sparrowsong. Nodding to Steps Soft, she let her daughter know she'd handle it from her.

Sparrowpaw followed Meer and Soft Steps into the dark felling more at home than she had ever been in WindClan. It felt like a weight had been lifted off of her shoulder.
