[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing leaped over the hedges and tall grasses of the loner territory. Her calico pelt glimmered in the light of moonrise and her heart pounded in her chest. Her throat was clogged with chokes of pain. Her eyes stung with tears that welled up then fell to the ground. Her spirit was heavy and dragged on the ground. She felt like a small, stupid kit. She had run herself into her enemy's territory for no reason. She felt her legs give out and she collapsed into a pile of snow. She felt her paws go numb and she felt herself fade.....but that didn't matter. She felt the sharp thorns of sorrow penetrate her mind. She felt weak and vulnerable. She wanted to lay down and never get up. She wanted to die. One of her friends was going to RiverClan. Another was missing....She just couldn't take it! Cats that had been kits when she was just made a warrior had mates, and kits....and she didn't. It made her feel weak. Snow pelted her ears and tail and the wind struck her ears. She had to come here.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart scented a clan cat. "Hello" he meowed. He noticed it was a she cat and he blushed under his pelt. She was beautiful. He knew she probably had a mate in her own clan.[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing gave a yowl of surprise. She lept out of the snow and whirled around. The iciness clung to her and made her look like a snow cat. She felt her teeth clatter. Her tail bristled and she felt her pulse quicken. There was a Loner! Burningwing drew back fearfully, thinking the cat must be one of Skulls group. Her Amber eye pulsed warmly and her blue eye glowed like ice. She slowly thought up a sentence of something usefully.
" I..i..i..i have eyes and I know how to use them!"
Ok, not that useful.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I am Demonheart of Windclan and you are?" he meowed. "What does I have eyes mean?" He thought he knew what it met. She probably thought he was Shard.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]" I...um...."
She mewed nervously. Ok, he wasn't a loner, bbbuuut would he attack? Probably not. Slowly she settled down, her tail still held up bristled though. She had to think of something smart this time. She withdrew a quick breath then exhaled quickly. What to say, what to say!
" I've....killed badgers before!"
She declared victoriously. There, that would do it! Or would it? Maybe this Windclan warrior had to! She eyed him nervously, also blushing under her pelt. Quietly she drew her tongue repeatedly over the red wing shaped patch on her right back leg.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I see" meowed Demonheart. He wasn't impressed easily. Most of the things other cats bragged about were things he had done before. He had killed a badger before. There were a lot in Windclan. He had killed a loner before too. He tried to refrain from bragging about his triumphs though. "What is your name?" he asked the pretty she cat.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]" Burningwing"
She mewed triumphantly. Her eyes rested evenly on Demonheart's head. She blinked her eyes and shifted under her pelt. He didn't seem to be impressed. Should she mention Skull?
" Hater of Skull and daughter of Hailstar and Moonlace!"
She lowered her head. she wasn't that easily impressed either. what would he say if she asked him his accomplishments?
" And what about you? What are you all about?"
Well, ya that was the old Burny all right.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart blushed. He would rather not discuss himself. "I was here to find that cat Splinter. His mate was kitting and I figured he would be caught by suprise. I leapt at Meer and he was driven into a fierce rage that even Goldenpaw of Starclan could not stop." She didn't seem impressed either. He felt a churning in his stomach. "I hate Skull also and I was supposed to kill Splinter and Meer to weaken his group."[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300] " Well, welcome to the party."
She meowed muffled. She and many other friends hated Skull with all their heart. They would all love to have his down fall. She shivered and felt a the wind swipe away her breath. Standing she walked over to stand beside him, brushing her tail on him along the way. She stared curiously into his eyes and sighed. She had to say something.
" What did he do to you?"

//you can make something' up that Skull did if you want. He is so evil he might have done bad stuff without me knowing! //[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"He did nothing to me but to others who I had feelings for" murmered Demonheart. He felt his eyes began to water at that thought. 'What did Skull do to you?"[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing felt her blood run cold. Her eyes turned detached. Her jaw fell slack. she was remembering....

"Thunderkit!" Burningkit shrieked in horror. they had been playing on a quiet patch of grass near the thunderpath when a cat had leaped out of a bush. Thunderkit, trying to protect her sister, hurtled after the cat onto the thunderpath. " No!'' she felt tears stream down her cheek. Thunderkit struggled under the jaws of the warrior. " Let...me...go!" He cried, kicking his legs helplessly. " Sister! Burningkit! I love you!" He cried again as the cat raised one paw. HOOONNKK! A truck whirled down the road. The cat leaped out of the way but Thunderkit couldn't in time. His back quarters got it. " See you in Starclan sister..." Thunderkit smiled meekly then past away. Burningkit cried in terror. She ran she tripped, everything went black....

Burningwing knew it had been Skull. She snapped out of it and smiled thinly.
" He killed my brother"[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I see" murmered Demonheart. He felt his heart began to pound. Why did he feel this way.[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing sighed. She had been keeping her mind of the incident as much as she could, but now it was stuck there like a fly in honey. She lay down and tucked her multi-coloured paws to her chest. Thunderkit....Thunderkit.....Thunderkit.....It seemed like it had only been yesterday that her brother had died. The image replayed over again in her mind. That was one reason she had been so upset that her friend was leaving to go to RC. Goodbyes took a hard toll on her since she had been so young when Thunderkit went.
The wind changed direction and blew the bush toward them. A few dead, dry leaves blew in Burningwing's face. She sighed again and sank even more into the snow, almost disappearing under the large built up mound. She was sure Demonheart wasn't doing any better in the cold. She shot him a glance. Would he mind? No....

" Mighty cold this year.."
She mumbled, her words floating in the air for a second, then getting swept away from the wind. Her heart pulsed up her throat as she moved closer to him.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"Yes very cold" meowed Demonheart as he moved closer to Burningwing. He her pelt brush against his and he sighed in content.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing puffed out her fur, making her look like a big puffball. She blushed when she felt Flameheart move closer too. She sighed also and almost fell asleep, but she caught herself before she did. Everything went sort of wavy for her. The trees looked wonky and the grass seemed sizzled. The snowflakes seemed to be break dancing and the sky swirled. How weird....she thought. She felt a bit woozy and her stomach grumbled like some evil monster trying to crawl out of the ground. Grrrruuummmmbbb. She twitched her whiskers with embarrassment. Dumb stomach...be quiet. She stood up nervously, swiping at a mound of snow. " I'm a bit hungry, want to go hunt?"[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"Sure" meowed Demonheart. He followed Burningwing. [/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing padded over the crisp, white snow, her heart pounding with each step that she took over the land that lay blanketed by the white. A thin film of fog creeled across the stretching land like a curtain covering windows of the two legs houses. As she lifted and dropped each paw, the soft black and pink pads cracked a bit and began to bleed, slowly oozing blood from the scratches she had gathered earlier. The blood left a thick trail of red that stained the milky white frost. Her claws scrapped each time they hit the frozen ice that formed on the snow and slipped down the valley like a wave.
Burningwing pricked her ears forward in alertness that could surprise a leader. Her ears pinpointed in different directions each time there was as much as a dry, uncovered leaf blowing over the thick clumps of snow. Her nose twitched and she leaned over to scan the ground for any scents of prey that would be easy game. Her bright blue and amber eyes glanced across the territory for any signs of movement that would give away a plump mouse or hare. Her breath that had stung the air with clouds of steaming mist suddenly only let out a thin mist.
Burningwing glanced back at Demonheart. Her ears got a blast of icy wind and she bit back a shriek of surprise.
" I'll go over here to hunt"
She nodded her head to the side, pointing to a small patch of trees, about a acre thick.
She slunk off into that direction, soon covered with small twigs and branches. She crouched close to the ground, her tummy hugging the dried grass patch where snow had not reached through the tangle of vines and trees. She stalked through the trees, silently moving across like a shadow moving with the wind. Burningwing's ears tipped forward, slowly slipping across her scalp. The chattering and crunching of a mouse snacking on dried fruit caught her attention. She shifted on her feet, keeping her weight above her. She slipped through and saw the creature gnawing hungrily on a apple peal. Burningwing coiled her paws under her, like a snake about to strike. She fired her legs and rocketed onto the mouse with swiftness. One powerful bite and the mouse lay crumpled in a small pile of fur and pelt with matted fur.
Burningwing soon found many more small game to catch and cramped her mouse with it. Prancing along, she hurried back to the spot where she and Demonheart had been laying. Settling down she waited for him to come back from his hunting, which she hoped he had been successful with.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart had went the other way. He heard a rushling in the bushes. A rabbit sprang out. Demonheart ran quickly after it finally leaping on it and breaking its spine. A pigeon flew up right in front of him and he quickly caught it by the neck. Then he buried his prey and returned to where Burningwing was. [/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing twitched her whiskers to shake off flakes of snow that were gathering on them and weighing the down to touching the fur on her cheeks. She snuffled when it fell into her yawning mouth and spat out the melted ice. Her nose was starting to drip with the cold and icicles hung over her nose and whiskers.
"Did you catch anything good?"
She asked curiously as Demonheart crossed over to the patch of thin snow that was flecked with cat fur and paw marks that she sat by. She nudged forward the game she had successfully caught, a rabbit, thrush and 2 mice. The rabbits dead eyes stared blankly out at the sky as if pointing to where it's soul had gone to join the many other dead prey that the cats of the forest caught and ate.
Burningwing curled her tail around her and leaned over the rabbit, tossing the other prey in a small pile like a fresh-kill stack.
" Want to share?"[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I caught a rabbit. Sure I will share" meowed Demonheart. He was glad he hadn't stayed at camp.[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing smiled warmly and gestured to beside her where the sun shone brightly like a sign of welcoming. Her eyes sparkled with mischievous nature and she laughed.
" Don't be a stranger! Come on over!"
She flicked her tail in his direction and purred a welcoming to re force her words of friendliness. The snow twinkled like little diamonds in a river of cream and blue crystals. Burningwing raised an eyebrow and tried to think of anything to say. But before she could even think it through a question popped up.
" Who is your mate?"[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I don't have a mate. Most she cats avoid me" meowed Demonheart. He walked over to Burningwing and began to eat. He lifted his head and looked at her. "Who is your mate?" he asked.[/glow]

//Heya, I'm back!//

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing gaped and turned her head in confusion. Why was she asking this stuff? She stuffed her mouth with rabbit meat and chewed rapidly. A sliver of meat caught in her throat and she resisted the urge to throw up the mouthful of tender hare flesh that sizzled her taste buds. She gulped down the rest of her mashed lagomorph and focused back on the conversation. What should she tell him? About her life of loneliness? Only having her friends and brothers soul to guild her through the tough paths that Starclan lead her to?
" Don't have one,"
She mumbled glancing away to keep Demonheart from seeing the red blush of her ears and nose. Why do you act so nervous?[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart blushed his face felt hot. No he thought she is Thunderclan. So is your sister said the little voice in his head. He wondered why he wanted to know if she had a mate. Sure she was pretty, fierce, and loyal. She was everything he had ever wanted in a she cat. "Do you know my sister Erminetail" he said quickly to hide his embarresment.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing wiggled around a bit. She turned over to look back at him and squirmed. She had no reason to, but she wanted to do that anyways. She began to meow her reply to his question when she stopped. He had changed the subject? Did that mean that he was also nervous? Burningwing ripped the thought from her mind and directed her attention back to Demonheart. She nodded slowly and meowed, " No, I don't think so,"
She wasn't sure if she knew Erminetail. She might have seen her before, but she didn't remember it. She gnawed embarrassly on her lip. She wasn't usually like this, but she was now.
She snuggled closer to him absently as a harsh wind blustered down on them. She wrapped her tail around him also and ducked her head down to her chest.
"Do you know Swiftwind?"[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart shook his head. He was very embarrested. He wondered why Burningwing had never met his sister Erminetail.[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing just lay there with her head tucked down in her white chest fur. She was so embarrassed but ecstatic at the same time. She wanted to get to know Demonheart. She thought he was nice, brave.....she even sorta liked him.
Her cheeks burned with her blushing and her nose turned bright pink. She had just met him and she already had a crush. She felt a purr rumble in her throat.
" So..."She mumbled unwarily.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]Demonheart lay down beside her. "So um what do you want to talk about?" he asked. He was very glad he had black fur because if he didn't his face would be completly red. His face was burning.[/glow]

[Burningwing]

[glow=red,2,300]Burningwing felt her pelt poof out in a flash, as soon as Demonheart lay down beside her. She felt like squealing and running in circles. She wanted to know Demonheart as much as she could. So she had to think of something to say........
"Whats it like in Windclan?"
It just thrust out of her mouth. Wasn't the worst question, but couldn't she already answer that? She had lived in all clans one time, but Thunderclan was her birth clan. She twitched her tail as a chunk of snow landed flat on the end.
Burningwing sighed and finally, worked up the nerve to snuggle close to Demonheart. Her eyes glinted in the sunlight and lit her heart with happiness. Even though the day was cold, the mood was shining.[/glow]
