Going Hunting

[Silentclaw]

Silentclaw stalked through camp, checking supplies and moral. He knew some rouges still remembered the argument between Sientclaw and Thistle. He'd have to take care of any tension between them, or else it would cause problems. Looking around he saw how low the fresh kill pile was. An idea formed in his mind, and he went to the den where most of the rouges slept. Sticking his head in he asked quickly. "Is Thistle in here?"

[glow=red,2,300]Thorn looked up form his grooming. "Yes, Silentclaw. One moment." He got up, stretched, and headed to the back. A feeling formed in his gut; he didn't like the fact that their leader wanted Thistle for something, so soon after their public fight. He prodded Thistle's sleeping form, and she groaned.

"What do you want? I was sleeping," she growled. The dark tabby glared at her friend.

"Silentclaw wants you. And it's about time you quit sulking."

"I'm not sulking!" insisted Thistle. With a grumble she stood, shaking moss off her pelt, and walked out to stand in front of Silentclaw, waiting for him to say something. Thorn sat back down and continued his grooming within earshot.[/glow]

Silentclaw had seen some of their exchange and was careful to keep any of his amusment from his face. He spoke as soon as she stood in front of him. "The fresh-kill pile's getting low. I want you to go with me on a hunting patrol." His tail twitched impatiently as he waited for an answer.

[glow=red,2,300]Thistle shrugged. "Alright. If you say so. Sir." She added the last bit in comtempt; she was still angry at him, still wanted to slice his throat for his foolishness. Savvanahheart would have never been so mousebrained! Calm down, This. Keep it cool. It's just a hunting patrol, he's not going to cut you down. She shouldered pasted him and out to camp. "Ready when you are," she said.[/glow]

Silentclaw felt some of his enthusiasm for his plan drop. Working hard to keep his temper in check he followed her out of the den. "Just waiting for you. Where do you think we should go?" The last was a bit of a test, though Silentclaw didn't really want to start questioning her. That wasn't part of his plan. At this season there were a few places guaranteed to be good hunting and where they could stay out of trouble with the clans.

[glow=red,2,300]Thistle thought hard. Where did she want to hunt? First she found herself thinking of the forests of ThunderClan, but he would expect that, and there wouldn't be a lot of prey there anyway. WindClan territory sounded food...but they would surely be scented. "Where do you think we should go?" she asked curtly.[/glow]

[Silentclaw]

"Border between Thunderclan and Riverclan." Silentclaw replied instantly. It was obvious he had thought of it before she asked. "The border's are harder to tell apart because the river is frozen. We can move from side to side if we see any patrols." He glanced at her to see if she agreed with his assment.

Thistle shrugged. "Whatever you say." She twitched her tail back and forth, waiting for Silentclaw to lead.

Silentclaw set off, not looking back to see if Thistle was keeping up. He was beginning to wonder if his plan was actually good. He knew it was, but the thought of it was starting to make his fur bristle.
