Swiftpaw shifted uncomfortably in her bed of moss. She had no mentor yet. She had no friends. Her brother and sister didn't even respect her! Just because she was blind and deformed. Swiftpaw's sea-foam eyes swam with anger. If only her mother loved her, and if her father wasn't dead, long-gone. And if cats didn't sympathize her! She hated that feeling, the feeling of being sorry for. And she hated the feeling of being lonely even more. Why didn't anybody like her? Wasn't being strong and great at hunting enough for those hard-headed fools?
"Mouse-brains," she muttered, laying her head on her paws and tucking her tail close to her side. "I wish somebody could be my friend--"
She swiped her tail over her mouth; Swiftpaw hadn't thought she'd said her thought out loud. Pelt prickling with embarrassment, she closed her eyes, pretending she was asleep.

( no picture yet) { AROUND ME ARE ALL FAMILIAR FACES } { WORN OUT PLACES, WORN OUT FACES }
Sunpelt stared silently at the sky. His amber eyes glowing with nothingness, clouded over with memories. Oh how he missed the old days, if only things could have stayed that way. Sunpelt, now a bit sad, decided to take out his sadness on the apprentices (wouldn't he just be an amazing father xD). Slowly the muscular tom bounded over to the apprentice den. Looking for the apprentice who were sleeping in, he noticed one laying in a bed of moss and he purred. Stepping on the little she-cat, the tom glared down at her. "Warriors don't sleep in" the words wern't said hurtfully, even though the words were meant to be hurtful.
[ooc] please excuse my super short post, my brain is not working properly. I think it died from the lack of use these two weeks [/ooc]

Swiftpaw jerked her head up at the sound of Sunpelt's voice, eyes burning with anger. "I'd like to sleep a little, thanks!" she retorted. She couldn't care less if she offended the older warrior, or even made him angry. She loved to argue, anyway.
Swiftpaw closed her sightless eyes and carefully folded her tail over her deformed stump of a leg, hiding it from view.

Emberpaw listened intently to the argument between the warrior and apprentice. With an amused flick of her tail, she strutted in with her tail high in the air and said, "Hello. Hi Swiftpaw. Greetings, Sunpelt." In her mind she was saying Yeah, right. 'greetings Sunpelt' HAH! Her eyes never showed it, though. She daintily sniffed the air, and gazed at Swiftpaw. "I was going to ask if we were needed on a hunting or border patrol, want to come with me?" She akwardly tilted her head, and looked into Swiftpaw's cloudy gaze. I'm a little shy on my own thought Emberpaw. The tortiseshell she-cat waved her tail and walked out of the den, embarassed at what she was thinking. Sometimes the portal between her mind and her emerald-green eyes was transparant, easily visible. Lovely, thought Emberpaw sarcastically.

Swiftpaw followed Emberpaw eagerly, wanting to put as much distance from Sunpelt as possible.
"Sure," she murmured, catching up to the apprentice. "I feel like hunting." Swiftpaw shot a glare in the direction of Sunpelt's scent, anger boiling inside her. Maybe she'd have a friend at last, though.

The noon sun warmed her pelt, as Emberpaw padded quietly up to the leaders den. A chilly breeze tustled and played with her long, tortoiseshell hair... the leaf-fall breeze tickeled her face and whiskers. She cast a longing glance at the growing fresh-kill pile, then silently reminded herself that she was going hunting. DUH. Emberpaw scolded herself. Wake up, mousebrain.. But that thrush over there looks SO good..! her stomach argued with her. Emberpaw sighed and glanced at the fat, appetizing thrush. Her stomach growled, but she walked on to the leader's den. The tortoiseshell she-cat gazed at Swiftpaw and inquired eagerly, "Where would you like to go hunting if we can go?" She continued on their way and offered, "I think the area between the pine forest and herb shrubs would be best, there's lots of ferny places where there's a bountiful source of voles and mice, but we can split up, too."

"That sounds fine," Swiftpaw mewed. "I'll just hunt with you, I guess. Two hunters are better than one!"
Swiftpaw flicked her tail as Emberpaw sniffed the fresh-kill pile. She smelled the tempting scents and her stomach complained. Swiftpaw blinked, embarrassed. "Better get hunting," she muttered.
