Basic Coding Tutorial

have started a coding tutorial for anyone who is interested. These are basic things that I find are useful to know if you ever design a site, especially a proboards site. I hope this is useful!


Part 1

Okay, here are some basic html codes that are good to know off the top of your head. First, with any of these types of codes, there is a certain set up to them.

We’ll start with how to make your words bold:

<b>TEXT</b>

The letter for the ‘bold’ is between < > at the front, and you always insert a backslash at the end </ >.

You can do the same with:
Centering- ‘center’<br>Underline- ‘u’<br>Italic- ‘i’<br>
For putting a picture in, use this code:

<img src="LINK TO YOUR PICTURE">

You can also center it using the same coding for text:

<center><img src="LINK TO YOUR PICTURE"></center>

For anyone who has used Proboards, you might wonder how to get some special codes, such as the news box at the top, and the scrolling affiliates banner at the bottom. To access any Proboards customizing codes, go to the FAQ area of the Support site.
Directions:
~Go to www.proboards.com
~Click on Support
~Near the top of the page is a banner that says Frequently Asked Questions, or FAQ. ~Once you are there, you will see a list of customizing codes.

For the News box, click ‘Forum Info Box’<br>
For the Affiliates banner, click ‘Affiliates Code’
To change ‘member’ and ‘guest’ to words of your choice, go to ‘Change Members and Guests in the Online Box’
