Controversial Topic;

This is something that has been bothering me for quite some time, and I think I would like it to be known how I stand on this type of situation:

Gay people, Bi people, Straight people,
it shouldn't matter.
We are all still humans,
no matter what we prefer.

This is something that caused me to become so enraged;

"Gays and bi's are just WRONG! Its sick and disgusting and it makes me want to puke! LOVE SHOULD BE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN! Face it; two youknowwhats don't mix. I think all gays and bi's should just be put in prison for being sick and gross."

After I read this, I got so mad, I almost cried, so, here is what I said in response;

"There's nothing wrong with being with the one you love. if you love someone you should be with them, no matter what is in their pants. Just by saying that is proof that people only want and think about the physical things such as ___. There's so much more to love than being physical. At least hmosexuals can see that by being able to love eachother despite their differences... or similarities. and despite the criticism they receive. Love is love and no one should ever stand in the way, no matter what. I don't see what gives you the right to say who should and should not be punished for what they love."

I am so tired of social segregation.

this is just because I'm writing a report on this,
and it would be uber cool to get some thoughts

Well, personally I have at least three friends that are gay and bi. I see nothing wrong with it, half the town I live in is that way. I feel that if someone can not express their love for another in the U, S of A then we might as well be lying to the world by saying 'freedom of speech and expression'. It is the way I stand on most things, neutral, I respect everyone's views, religions and preferences. If we were to place every gay, or bi person in prison we would need a heck of a lot more land than there is. A mass revolt would no doubt take place. All that I can say is I hold my friends close, no matter their preferences. If someone holds that against them then they can keep the thought to themselves.

Im not even gonna lie, Fern- both of you really- have really good points. I agree with what she says. I know a lot of people, and talk to them (in real life and otherwise) that are lesbian, gay, bi and what not. Indeed we are still human. Everyone is entitled to theri own opinion and I am fine with any and everyone else having their opinion as long as they don't expect me to agree with them.

I'm going to be the only one who has a slight difference in opinion to everyone else. First off, I have no problem with homosexual people. But the whole bisexual stuff...[/shudders] Well, not so much. Though I don't believe in love at all, I really do think there are people out there who are...attracted to the same gender. I know it's wrong of me to even act like it, but those that sway both ways give me a bad vibe. Like many of the people [and when I say many, I mean 80%] at my school is something other than heterosexual. I wouldn't be surprised if some of my friends where something. But there were some of these people [no names, sorry] who all claimed they were bisexual and had both a girlfriend and a boyfriend at the same time. Which meant they all were...getting jiggy with everyone else who claimed they were bisexual. Not meaning to point any fingers or raise any red flags, that's just my opinion.
Also, there's the whole homosexual, heterosexual, and bisexual talk. But what about somebody who feels nothing??? A lot of the nation looks down on bis and gays, but I've gotten a lot of crap about feeling nothing to either gender. So what? I plan not to marry or "fall in love" or have children like a rabbit! And it just irks me to no end that people actually have the nerve to judge me when they are no better! So there, I got all of my steam out and will sit in a corner.

Really all that I have to say has been said. It doesn't bother me if people are gay or bisexual or anything like that, I mean it's their own opinion and feelings. It never really has bothered me, in fact I know a few people who are gay, and I don't see them any differently then I see anyone else. So basically I don't mind, like a lot of people have already said, we all have our own opinions.

Ahh... Touchy topic.

Well I do a lot of threatre which equals lots of gay people. Honestly, I think gay people are adorable. =] In doing speech and debate along homosexual people. If you go through life hating them, you won't get very far.

You guys probobly already know what I think. Personally, I understand gay and bi people to be Biblically wrong, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna pick a fight with every one that I meet. I think it's very sad that these people do not keep marriage holy before God as one man and one woman. But, like I said, it's not my job to attak them. Not that I won't tell them I think they've sinned if they ask me, but I would try to be as kind as possible, you know?

I don't think gays, lesbians, and bisexuals are any different in any way. They are human beings made by God who have, like all of us, a desired sex. I hate how our society rejects these groups of people because they chose a certain way of living. But then again, we are categorized, for some sh%^ty reason, by our actions, and this topic is very, as the title says, controversial. I have gay friends and I don't care. I have bi friends who are my best friends. I also hate it when people give these people 'titles'. Like hey thats bob, thats smam, and that the gay dude. It infuriates me. Anyways, this is my opinion.
