ThunderClan Apprentice/Warrior
i feel alive beside you
and all at once, i am whole again
Night had fallen by the time the two cats reached the outskirts of Fourtrees. Stars glittered overhead, lighting up the blackened sky. Not a cloud shielded the sliver of a crescent moon. The wind remained as the occasional breeze. Though it was night, the air was not as chilled as Riverpaw had thought. His emerald green eyes gleamed like twin gems gazing across the night. The tabby tom glanced back at Icepaw and shot her a smile, locking his emerald orbs with her multi-colored ones before padding on. He wanted to get there first, just to be sure that what he wanted to show the femme was still there. The tom padded ahead on long legs, lean muscle showing with every step he took. Sure, he wasn't as big or as strong as his brother, Pumafang, but Riverpaw was already beginning to show a sign of becoming stronger as he grew. Soon he'd be a warrior (although he technically already is xD).
Thoughts of Icepaw made their way into his mind. The beautiful white she-cat was Riverpaw's only real friend. She was everything to him. Yet she was in RiverClan. The thought caused Riverpaw's face to fall for only a split second. He glanced behind him again, catching sight of Icepaw's stunning white pelt. He couldn't ignore the feelings he felt growing for Icepaw. She was perfection. Right now, she was Riverpaw's everything. He craved seeing her, was hypnotized by her melodic voice. And yet they were seperated by borders. Riverpaw had made up his mind that he'd ask Icepaw to meet him again later on that night. Just before they were forced to part again. He couldn't stand the thought of never seeing her again, except for the occasional Gathering they were both invited to. Riverpaw wondered if Icepaw shared his feelings as well. She seemed to like him enough. Riverpaw smiled at the thought and pressed on through the forest.
Just as he reached the edge of Fourtrees he stopped, standing in front of Icepaw and offering her a smile. Riverpaw glanced behind him, into the depths of Fourtrees, and let out a soft breath when he saw what he was looking for. Sure, there weren't as many as before, yet there were more of them then normally seen together. The tabby tom looked back at Icepaw and shot her a quick grin. "Come on," he mewed quietly. Quickly he walked toward Fourtrees, beckoning Icepaw with his tail.
All around the two cats, lights of multiple shades of yellow and orange fluttered about. Their lights would flicker off momentarily, before flickering back on with a much stronger force. Dozens flew around the clearing, dancing across the night like dancers performing a recital. Riverpaw's emerald green eyes followed each one, awed by their graceful beauty for a moment. When he had asked Pumafang about these creatures after he had found them, his brother identified them as fireflies. Riverpaw looked back at Icepaw, wondering what her reaction to the fireflies would be. "Do you like them?"
{{Gah sorry so rushed, not much muse left}}
