FlamepawTC apprentice How old was he? He wasn't really even sure anymore, the moons that past zoomed by like silvery fish that swam in the river, in a fast, blurred motion. He knew that he was at least apprentice aged...no, more then apprentice aged, eleven moons? Twelve moons? Twelve seemed to strike a chord within him, but how would he know that even? It wasn't like he counted every passing moment, making little scribbled notes into the wall of his mind. It wasn't. He was a cat, he would live his life, stand for how mature and grown he looked, and not care a mousetail about why it mattered how many moons he was. He wouldn't care. That was how things were based off in the wild right? Not by how old you were, but how much the muscles under your coat rippled, the way your fangs and claws glistened in the moonshine.
And obviously, all this thinking was going towards his apprentice ceremony. If he had had one. He was moons past the day when he would be able to become a apprentice. Flamepaw lay, cozied up into a straw bale bed. The scent of must and stale hay speared his sensitive nostrils, but had a strangely calming affect on the young apprentice. The planks that made up this 'spook' barn were rotten and damp, coated with peat moss around the edges, and small pieces of the wall broken off. Above the tom, a large ragged hole had made its home on the roof of the barn, caused by many storms of rain and snow building up 'till it broke through the roof. Flamepaw couldn't help but to wonder if it had fallen on someone when it fell.
Perhaps Brownstar was unlike the other leaders? Perhaps she waited for a cat to truly look mature before granting them apprenticeship? But looking down at his glowing orange pelt, he saw nothing wrong about him, he was a perfectly normal cat, he was disabled by blindness or deafness or any other things that might make his apprenticeship an on going challenge. He had heard of a kit that had once been in Thunderclan, that had been blinded by something, but still trained as an apprentice with her ears and nose. Could something like that really be true? And if it was,..if Brownstar had gave a blind kit a mentor, why wouldn't she give him one? Everything seemed so unfair to him. Would he ever even become a warrior?
Did he even really want to anymore?
Flamepaw sighed, staring out into the darkness of night. Crickets chirped, and in the distance the buzzing of cicadas irritated his ears. Stars shone brightly out on the silverpelt, twinkling and shooting around like miniature lanterns hung in the sky, filled with a indestructible fire. Of course, the stars weren't really tiny, but it seemed as though they were from here. And they were just a tiny shard, a fragment of all the stars and galaxies that made up the universe. Such philosophical made his head spin. He was such a microscopic speck to all the world, was his life really significant compared to the others of millions of cats? He was pretty sure the answer was no. But as he comptemplated these facts, he barely noticed a lean shadow piecing the the light of the moon on the barn floor.

[shadow=yellow,left,300]Stitches
Veins pulsing like tangled snakes with their hearts beating out of their thin bodies, the cat's closed eye rolling under the lid. Ragged, disgusting paws landed on the ground and then flew back through the air, long yellow claws glimmering a sickening colour in the pale moonlight. The one eye that was not stitched together with wire was a gray that was sightless and reeked of a putrid smell. His body was disgusting and the tail with the staples in it twitched when he caught the scent of another cat. This is mine! Hungry...Kill...Eat... The cat made his way to the entrance of the barn and stood, a shadow against the falling moon.[/shadow] (My brain's dead...)
