Icestar bounded to the top of Highrock, feeling the ache in her old bones as she settled into her accostomed place. "All cats of Thunderclan, old and young, please assemble before Highrock!" She yowled, waiting as her beloved clan members gathered before her. Waiting for a moment, she then began to speak. Her old and wizened features scanned the clan, gazing lovingly at each member. "My dear Clan, I have led you for many years, and given many of my lives for you. My body is old, and my mind tired. I would lead you until my last life if I could, but Starclan has spoken with me. Our warrior ancestors feel it is time for me to rest, and to pass on the mantle of leadership to a younger warrior, one able to lead you to victory, and to strengthen you through these hard times that lie ahead. And so, as Starclan has bidden me, I now appoint Brightpelt as our new leader." She nodded to Brightpelt to join her on Highrock. "I feel she will lead us all through the times ahead. Starclan has made a wise choice." ((Sandclaw is Brightpelt. Brightpelt has been with the clan since the beginning, and I know I can count on her)) "I will retire to the elder's den, but I will offer advice if Brightpelt needs it. Brightpelt," She turned to the warrior at her side. "I know I can count on you, we all can. Leave for Mothermouth this evening, to gain Starclan's blessing."

Brightpelt nodded. She felt nauseated, why did Starclan want her to be leader? "I will." she said, trying to hide her skittishness.

Wireclaw watched from the edge of camp- what did it ean? Would the hospitality offered to her by Icestar be nulled? How would the deputy take this...?
More prominent in her mind, however, was the thought of being chased out of this Clan, and not making it to the next city before Leafbare...
