Torrentheart challenged him with her gaze,"You were too."She said,smiling competitivly,"And if I make it to that big tree out there first,then you were angry."She said,as she darted off.Dodgeing twigs and thorns,she made it there first,hiding her panting."I guess you were angry then."She said.Her gaze then softened,"Please don't be mad at me anymore,I have done nothing,and though you may tell me you weren't...you were."

She looked confused and disoriented.She ran off and caught up with him,"I-I was just joking..."She started,staring at him with fierce eyes."I wasn't trying to make you mad,I was trying to do the opposite."She stared at her paws and then looked up at him,"I'll never try to hurt because I-.."She paused nervously and then whispered the three words she had never muttered in her life,not even to her own parents.."I..love..you."She then padded infront of him,charging through the trees and finally stopping to let her thumping heart and panting breathe catch up with her.

Frynose's face dropped like a bomb. "Love..." But as Torrenheart disappeared thetom was left under shock. "She loves me." Then something came over him... did he love her? It wasn't that easy to tell... not yet.

Finally he entered the clearing she was in. "Torrentheart... I, I am sorry if I led you to think that I love you. I love you as a friend but... I don't want a mate." He stood strong and tall, eyes glowing.

Torrentheart felt as if she had just been raked by the massive claws,though she didn't show it."When people are upset..t-they say stupid things.That is what happened back there,I-I love you as a friend and nothing more as well."Her face was like stone,hard and unfeeling.Though inside,her heart cried."If you'll excuse me...I must go."She looked at him once more,shook her head,and turned back the way they had come,to the river...her home.

When she got there,she did not let her feelings show,but instead she sat there on the beach nearby,staring at the river's glowing water.
