Shortclaw paddled in the river (I can understand and talk like cats!) laughing at himself for ever thinking that baths were stupid. He barked in excitement as he decided to try and swim against the flowing current. He turned and paddled as hard as he could, but got swept away in a heartbeat. He laughed at himself for trying, but he would have done it again anytime.
It was a sunny day with a bit of a wind. There was dew on all the leaves that made the trees look like huge crystals. It was a perfect day for swimming (or a bath) and everyone who was anyone should have taken the chance to swim. (although they probably figured they'd get mauled by a dog) The river was flowing in just enough strength so that you couldn't swim against the current.

Blackpelt was watching in wonder from the TC border. Her jaws were parted in awe, and she choked back a laugh. This was amazing! She walked forward. There was no way she was going to be afraid.

Shortclaw paddled out of the river seeing a perty black cat walk nearer "well your a first" he said knowing she'd be surprised that he could talk like a cat.

Blackpelt twitched her ear nervously and forced a smile. "Always." she replied. "At least, when it comes to getting trouble." She came nearer, confident that this new wanderer wouldn't harm her.

" Blackpelt, wait up!" NIghtpaw, her balck coat shining from a recent wash, bounded to catch up with the warrior. Skidding to a halt at the water's edge, she stared in wonderment at the dog. " What are you supposed to be?" She mewed.

Shortclaw giggled (Im just as old as any apprentice.. er almost old enough to be a warrior that is if i were a cat) "i could say the same of you"he said mischief in his eyes "but i would be a dog". He waited for the little cat to gasp and run away.

Nightpaw did just the opposite. " A dog? Never heard o' those before." She had heard tales of them, told by the elders, but had never really seen one. They were told as vicious beasts, but this one looked friendly. " I'm nightpaw, by the way." She meowed. " Wo're you?"

Shortclaw smiled "well I'm Shortlclaw!" he said hoping for a friend "I was just swimming in this here river." he said grin from ear to ear"can you swim?" He asked than jumped back in the river paddling that strange doggy way.

Blackpelt jumped up. She splashed into the water and urgently hearded Nightpaw away. "C'mon." she mewed to Shortclaw. She glanced over her shoulder to rest a steady green gaze on Bloodclaw, then she bounded up to her own terra.
