Lightkit sighed. She sat outside the nursery in the sunshine. She had no friends, but wanted some badly. The little kit looked up at the clouds. She wished it were night so she could see Silverpelt and talk with StarClan again...they always helped her with her problems, but this one she wasn't sure they could.

" fine. You just lost a potential friend." That last part just slipped out, and Lightkit knew it was the wrong thing to say. She bolted away to the river, trying to hold back tears. Although she was only a kit, she knew how to swim, and she knew the river was a good place to be alone.
