Silverpaw stopped dead in his tracks and stared at Brownpaw, he wanted to scream at the top of his lungs that he loved her too but now was not the time, soon he told himself. He ran over to Phoenixpaw and Brownpaw. "You better run or I am going to catch you!" he shouted as he drew close.

"Yea come on,' Winterpaw said, joining in with Silverpaw."Bet you can't catch me you two.' She stopped a little way away from them. He original plan seemed to have backfired and now she was trying to put out the flames, so to speak. "Are two still discussing my little joke? You do realize I was kidding right?" She gave them a smile, looking like the perfect image of a playful kit.

Brownpaw jumped back as Silverpaw and Winterpaw raced towards her and Pheonixpaw. Spinning round in mid-air, Brownpaw hit the ground running.

Brownpaw crouched and prepared to spring. Uncoiling her muscles, the tabby Apprentice sailed through the air over Silverpaw's head and landed a short distance behind him. Not missing a beat, Brownpaw shot forward to distance herself from the silver tom.

Silverpaw turned around, and watched her for a moment, he felt his heart flutter for a moment and then he sprang after her.
