Enemy territory.

[Silentclaw]

Brightpaw walked silently on Windclan territory. He knew he shouldn't be here, but many clan cats went to other clans, so he didn't think much of it. Silently he stalked, doing his best to be one with the shadows.

Hawkpaw had been walking around their territory when he smelled a strange sent. He walked out from a small plane bush and looked at Brightpaw. "Who are you?" he asked.

[Winterwind]

Winterpaw was gathering herbs when she heard a sound. Looking wildly around she wondered where it came from and what made it. She unsheathed her claws nervously.

Brightpaw froze looking at Hawkpaw. The apprentice was larger and older than him, making him think twice before attacking. Instead he said calmly."Brightpaw, who are you?"

[hawkkit]

"I'm Hawkpaw," hawkpaw paused, he new that scent that the apprentice smelled like, "Are you from shadowclan?"

[brightsun]

"Yes," Brightpaw said rising slowly. He stared at Hawkpaw with curious eyes."Your from Windclan I presume."

[hawkkit]

Hawkpaw nodded, "Yes, why are you here?" he asked slightly suspicouse.

[brightsun]

'I was just curious to see why cats from other clans go from one clan territory to another.' Brightpaw said truthfully.He was calm and relaxed, not in the least bit worried by the other apprentice.

[hawkkit]

"I have always wondered that too," he said, he hadn't felt so good since his father left. "Maybe because they want to meet new cats or they are feeling lonly?"

[brightsun]

"Well whatever the reason, I came here to find out." Brightsun said. He noticed the other cat looked melecholy."What's the matter?"

[hawkkit]

Hawkpaw looked away for a moment as the ach overwellmed him, "I don't know if you were at the last gathering but they announced it there, my father Rownpelt disappeared, he didn't even say good bye."

[brightsun]

"At least you knew your father,' Brightpaw blurted out. He bit his lip, scolding himself for being rude."I mean, I bet he'll be back, especially if he loves you and your family."

[hawkkit]

"I hope so, didn't you know your father?" asked Hawkpaw refering to the outbrake.

[brightsun]

Brightpaw shook his head. "I've only ever known my mother. She never mentioned our father, except to my sister."

[hawkkit]

"Oh, that's sad," said Hawkpaw understanding a little about how Brightpaw must feel. "WHo is your mother?" he asked.

[brightsun]

"Wolffire,' Brightpaw said.

(It's actually Willoowtail, but he doesn't know that,)

"Oh," said Hawkpaw, "Have you discover why people go over the borders into other territoies?" asked Hawkpaw.

[brightsun]

"Yes I think I have,' Brightpaw said."I suppose you want me to leave than?"

[hawkkit]

"No, please stay, I have been kinda lonly," he said looking down rather sheepishly.

[brightsun]

"Alright, I suppose I can spare some time." Brightpaw said sitting down.

[hawkkit]

"It's kinda hard when your one of only two male apprentices, and when your father left you..." he let his voice trail off. It was still hard for him to talk about it.

[brightsun]

Brightpaw gave Hawkpaw a pitying look."I'm not home much, but I think I may be the only male apprentice my clan. I'm not sure though."

[hawkkit]

"Yeah but-" suddenly he thought he caught the scent of a Windclan patrol. "Oh no, I think some Windclan cats are comeing, maybe you should leave. Would it be okay if I came over and talked some time?" he asked glanceing around quickly.
