Just at day break, Silverstar made to the far side of the clan borders, away from the rest of the clan. She sat down and waited by the RiverClan border for the two new apprentices.

Silverpaw ran up and skidded to a stop. He sat down panting a little. "Hi!" he said eagerly.

Hawkpaw ran up a moment later gasping. He stopped and looked down slightly, he felt honored to be trained by the leader. He nodded a greeting at Silverpaw.

Silverpaw turned and ran for the tree and back, after several times his muscals began to burn and his breath was coming in short gasps.

Hawkpaw looked a little worried but he dashed off after Silverpaw, running had never been one of his stronge points. After to 'laps' he was already gasping and every muscle was burning with exertion.

Silverstar shock her head. "Do you know why you ran out of energy. It was because you were not breathing right, and that you used to much energy in one try. Catch your breath."

Hawkpaw sat down and his chest heaving. Slowly his breath began to become normal.

Silverpaw followed the leaders suggestions and his breathing evened out.
