Wingclaw stepped aside as the two apprentices darted out of the den. "They sure are in a hurry." meowed Wingclaw as she watched them dissapear through the camp entrance. Shaking her head and smiling at the antics of the cats she padded into the Apprentice den. "Rosepaw?"

Rosepaw looked up. "No, of course not. I always look forward to training." This was a slight lie since she was usually hurting. But, atleast it meant she was one step closer to being a warrior.

Poenixpaw gave an ashamed look and stared at the ground. Her head lay on her paws and she miserably sighed. It was a bold fact that the didn't fit in. RiverClan and WindClan are so different. Yet BloodClan, where her tippy personality originates from was completely dfferent. /was this how mum felt when.... she came to riverClan/ Poenixpaw thought her eyes beginning to water. /Was thi-- NO DON'T LET HAWKPAW SEE YOU CRY!!!/ poenixpaw lifted her autumn-red paw and hid her face under it.

Rosepaw looked at Poenixpaw. She sighed. She must admit that she never felt any strong feelins for the kit. But, she did know how it was to be left out. "Peonixpaw, are you okay?" she asked. "Would... would you like to go huniting after I go training? Wingclaw doesn't train me too hards and I usually have some time." She smiled greatly. "I would like to be friends."

Rosepaw looked at her more encouragingly. "Come on," she said. "It would be fun. We could bring home lots of prey and impress Silverstar." She laughed. She dearly wanted to show her leader that she was capable of being a warrior. She was one of the oldest appretnices since she was Amberwind's kit.

Phoenixpaw lifted her head, she really didn't want to tell Rosepaw that she couldn't hunt because she had barely any scent and she was half-blind. So she nodded enthusiastically. "yea!"

Rosepaw smiled. Peonixpaw may be blind in one eye but she waas sure that she was good at something. "Okay," she said. "Great, I will go after I go training." She gave Peonixpaw a big smile. This may be the beginning of a friendship, she thought.

Rosepaw walked into the den. She was tired and overwhelmed. Her parents had just left. They didn't even say good-bye. Her mother had died from Darkfur and Hollowheart, her father, had just dissappeared. She sat in the den. Could she ever get used to not having her parents in camp? This thought raced throught her mind.
"Wait, I am like Brownpaw and Peonixpaw," she said with a gasp. "This mus be how they feel." She began to feel guilty. She never knew it would be this hard. "I wonder how they handle it..." She lay her head down on her aching paws.

Rosepaw didn't look at him. Indeed, she did like Hawkpaw, sometimes even more than a friend, but she didn't want compforting that much. Anyway, she knew that Pheonixpaw liked him alot. "Thanks," she whispered coldly.

Hawkpaw walked away, he had a feeling that she didn't want to see him at the moment. He walked to a corner of the den and laid down. His heart was aching, his father had left with Hollowheart, Hawkpaw didn't understand why, was it his fault? He blinked and closed his eyes trying to fall asleep, but it wasn't helping.

Rosepaw watched him leave. She felt a little guitly but didn't pay attention to it. She hurt that her fther had left and she was upset. Hatrid seemed to fill her.

Wingclaw padded into the apprentice den, her tail swishing back and forth behind her. She looked around the den. Most of the apprentices were inside. She raised her voice so that they could all here. "All apprentices go to the freshkill pile quickly. Silverstar wants you to all get to know eachother well." She meowed.

Rosepaw looked at her mentor. She wasn't in the mood for a social but got up anyway. She left the den gloomily. The death of her mother and loss of her father had grieved her more than anything. "Yes, Wingclaw," she mumbled.
