Brightpaw lept from rock to rock, softly. He did this with effort, and was getting better at it. Normally, he'd be training with his mentor, but he didn't know where he was so, he'd been training without them. He saw a mouse and halted his practice in balance. He deftly lept from stone to stone everytime the creature turned its head. At last he was only a leap away. For the last time the creature toward its head. Brightpaw struck out than. Leaping on it and breaking its neck with a quick bite to the head. He looked down from his rock and at the other rocks, deciding on a new obstacle course.

Windchaser watched the apprentice. She decided to wal over to Brightpaw. "Hello, Brightpaw," she said to the apprentice. "How is training going?" she asked. She noticed that this young cat much be trying to train itself.

"Fine Windchaser."Brightpaw said bowing his head slightly in respect at the Deputy."How is your hunting patrol?" Brightpaw asked, taking a guess at what Windchaser was doing.

Windchaser smiled. "They are going very well," she said. "Prey seems to be cming back into the forest. Although, I don't know how long it will last."

"I doubt it will be long, since Winter is coming and most of the forest's prey wil be gone." Brightpaw said, speaking plainly."We should probaly increase our hunting patrols to deal with the upcoming shortage of food."

Windchaser smiled and the apprentice's knowledge and understanding. "Yes, I agree," she said. "How about you and me go on one right now?" she sugguested.
