Meeting with a Med. Cat

(This is before Silentclaw's battle with the Night. It's also private unless you invited in.)

Phantom walked silently across Shadowclan border. He'd gotten away from the rouges for a short while at least and was using this time to look for Willowtail. It was early morining, and the sun wasn't even up, but the sky was getting lighter to one side. Phantom wouldn't be able to search much longer."Willowtail." He hissed into the shadows. "Are you there?" His tail twitched with nervous energy.

ShadowClan had been staying among ThunderClan the previous night. Despite a few disputes between reluctant cats, most of the two Clans had been to weak physically and mentally to respond. The ShadowClan Warriors had been bleeding from wounds, and, though the supplies of ThunderClan were spread around, the dosages were so light that the healing was temporary and would need more poultices sooner or later. This was the reason for Willowtail visiting her old territory. The Medicine Cat had left Arrowpelt to watch over the Clan while she had gone back. It was an Apprentice's errand really, but Willowtail ahd taken it upon herself for another reason. Phantom. The she-cat was pregnant with his Kits and, after watching the feirce display of defending ehr from the BloodClan Leader, Willowtail flet she needed to talk to him.

The silver Medicine Cat was only on the outskirts of ShadowClan territory, for she ahd crossed the Border around half an hour ago and the old Camp was deep in the heart of the Marsh. A sudden noise behind her alerted Willowtail, and she slowly turned round to see what it was. The siamese-marked face poked its way out of the brush, its blue orbs shining, and Willowtail knew instantly that Phantom ahd come for her. "Yes, it's me," She mewed back, unaware the he was on the run.

Phantom felt relief surge though him, making him feel weak. She was alright. He quickly straightened. "I don't have much time to talk. They'll miss me back at camp. Willowtail... are you alright." He spoke quickly, his eyes darting around nervously. He was more alert than ever, especally because of his recent action as a traitor. He was surprised no one had come for him yet.

[Willowtail]

Concern flashed in her green eyes, yet she still felt unable to comfort him physically, as if things weren't quite right. Privately, she knew they would probably never be alright. "I'm fine, Dark didn't hurt me, and ShadowClan are doing Okay," She mewed softly. "But being confined to the ThunderClan Camp, humiliated and imprisoned, isn't doing it any good. Moonstar is dead. Windchaser requested that I gave her a painless death rather than be ripped to shreds by one of The Night's cats." Phantom was clearly nervous, constantly looking around himself, on the watch for others that Willowtail instinctively knew would hurt him. "It's because of me that you're running, isn't it? They're coming for you because you attacked the BloodClan Leader to defend me. Is it because you love me?"

"I'm not on the run yet,' Phantom said softly. He looked at Willowtail, his eyes resting on her face for a moment. "I know that I'll be made to pay for defending you. Still, if I was given the choice again, I wouldn't change a thing excep that I would have attacked him sooner. I know that's love. I love you Willowtail, but I don't know if you feel the same anymore." His ears twitched, but Silentclaw didn't look away.

Willowtail held his blue gaze for a few moments before looking away. "I thought you had turned your back on me," She mewed softly, looking at the ground. "I thought you were heartless and I thought I hated you. I was even more certain when Phantomkit came out stillborn, it was you Phantom, but now I can see it was a mistake," Raising ehr face to meet his eyes again, Willowtail leant forward and softly licked a gash on Phantom's cheek, soothing it. "In a way, I never stopped loving you, and I hated myself for it. But I'm not going to change my plans with our second litter. Silentpaw and Brightsun ahd been hurt enough, and I don't want these Kits to be in danger because of their heritage. Your on a hitlist now, Phantom, and I don't want our Kits used as objects to hrut you." Her eyes were serious as she gazed at him, yet they held an undertone of love.

Phantom nodded. "I suppose I can't ask for anything more besides that you keep them safe somehow." He sighed, closing his eyes. He wondered when was the last time he actually slept well. After a moment he opened his eyes. "Willowtail, do me a favor. Stop calling me Phantom. I'd like to be known by my real name, in case I do... die." He had grown used to being called Phantom, but for once he'd like to be called something other than that hated name. He wanted to be called by his old name, the one he'd earned in his old clan. He gave Willowtail a look of both pleading and sadness.

Willowtail allowed a small tentative smile. He really was different, and it was lovely. Her belly was swelling with the Kits she carried, and she knew in her heart she would love them and that Silentclaw would love them to. "Silentclaw," She whispered, and buried her muzzle into is neck fur, seeking and giving comfort.

[Silentclaw]

He seemed to smile and relax with the mention of his real name. Silentclaw rested his chin on her forehead. "Thank you, Willowtail.' He said softly. He stayed like that for a moment. Than he spoke again. "I have to go now. Take care of them Willowtail. Be sure to keep an eye on Silentpaw and Brightsun. They have share my blood and my hate for Nightclan." He lingered, waiting to hear if Willowtail had anything she wanted to say.

Silentclaw's warmth seemed to flow through her, melting her heart. She was content to stay like that forever, with Silentclaw, the cat she had fallen in love with. When he pulled away, the Medicine Cat felt cold again, the real world hitting ehr like a great wave, cold as ice, knocking her off her feet with such a force. "Look after yourself, Silentclaw," Willowtail mewed softly, caressing his shoulder with the tip of her tail.

[Silentclaw]

"I will." Silentclaw said. He nudged her softly. "Now get going. Watch your step, the rouges aren't nice to clan cats. Even medicine cats aren't safe." Silentclaw gave her a quick lick on the ear and than faded quietly into the shadows.

Luna had been wandering around, not caring where she was, and on this particular day she was confident. She caught sight of Phanotm and stopped in her tracks. He took her breath away. She tried to scramble away in the other direction, but she was rooted to the spot. "He has to have seen me..." she whispered to herself. There was nothing to do but wait for Phantom's reaction.

Phantom stopped as he saw movement. Looking around, he caught the scent of a loner, and turned to look at Luna. For a moment he said nothing. Than he stepped towards her and asked. "Who are you loner?" His voice was quiet, but not threatening. Yet.

Luna's eyes grew huge. She stiffened, all of her usual confidence forgotten. She blinked and gave herself a moment to think. Then she cleared her throat and began, "I...I am Lunarsky." She wished to look this cat in the eye. She feared his powerful gaze and yet was entranced by it all the same.

[Silentclaw]

"What are you doing here? This area is now controlled by the rouges." he said, his voice confident. There was something odd about this cat, like she was nervous of him. His eyes narrowed at the thought, as he stared at her confused by her fear.

Luna's pelt prickled and she felt his searching gaze upon her, and she heard his rich voice, filled with a commanding air. Her fear was lowly easing, but she still began warily , "Then...you are a rougue?". She wasn't quite sure what she would do if this cat attacked her, but she admired his rippling muscles.

Sientclaw continued to watch this strange cat, Luna. "Yes, and you're a loner, correct?" Silentclaw saw she was slowly losing fear of him, but there was still something odd about the way she was looking at him. He shifted uneasily on his feet, wishing that he knew what this cat was thinking. He tried to catch Luna's eye, to see if he could identify what she was feelingthat way.

Luna nodded and rocked back a little on her haunches. She hoped she was making a strong impression on this cat. She looked from his toes to his head, and then noticed her was trying to make eye contact. She gazed at him with wonder in her eyes. She thought about what it would be like to be close to this cat ((mentally not like...next to him ^.^)). She cleared her thorat and said "I failed to get your name. I can see that you are wondering about me, but there is a lot I would like to kow about you." She tried to seem mysterious, especially after she had scented that another she-cat had been here not to long ago.

"My name's Silentclaw though most call me Phantom, and I'm on watch." Phantom replied. He could see wonder in this cat's eyes, and that interested him. "What are you doing here?" He asked quietly.

"Well, I don't really know..." she admited, "I mostly just roam as I please but now I feel as if I need some cause. Something to work for." She matched his quiet tone and wondered if there were dangers about her. She hesitated then decided not to ask, for she wanted to see what this cat would say. Her thoughts wandered to the she-cat that had been here earlier and Luna wondered if this Phantom had something to do with her.

"You might want to consider the clans." Phantom said. He wasn't much of a syrporter of the rouges anymore, and wasn't about to help them with their cause anymore. He began to pace slightly, as if trapped in a cage. "They are honorable, though sometimes overbearing."

Luna tipped her head. She had heard of the clans, yes, but something seemed to be bothering him. "Is something th matter?"she asked, wth real concern in her voice.

[Silentclaw]

"Just treason." Silentclaw said with a slight cat-like shrug. He kept his face smooth and calm. "Nothing you need to worry about."

She nodded but was still in confusion. Suddenly, Luna trembled inwardly. "I want to help you!" she blurted ou, then stood rigid and scared, as if she couldn't beleive that she, herself, had just said that.

[Silentclaw]

Phantom shook his head. "I don't want any help. I've run away from this ever since my clan was destroyed. Now, I want to face it. I'm not going to run away again." He seemed to smile in a meloncholy way. "For once, I'll fight for what I have."

Phantom's words touched her, but she couldn't shake the feeling. There was nothing for her to live for . Where she had come from she had no real friends. She had simply wandered from place to place not knowing of any other thing to live for. She had found an amazing cat, but it seemed that his heart was one by another. Her heart twisted and she stood in silence.

[Silentclaw]

Phantom noticed the silence and the look on her face. Still he didn't speak, at least not for a moment. "Luna," He said softly. "There is something you could do for me..."

Luna's eyes flashed with hope, but she tried not to get too excited. She had to understand that this cat was not the kind she was used to dealing with. As long as the other she-cat, or any other cats probably, never found out, it would be ok. She raisied her eyes to meet his then said, truthfully, "I'll do anything."

[Silentclaw]

"Help fix what has happened." Phantom told her. His eyes were detirmined, and his voice firm. "Help bring an end to the Night's rule here, and save these clans. That's the one thing I could never do, but it's a dream you can make real. Will you make that drem real for me?"

Luna's eyes grew huge. She was tembling in awe of this ct. Had she really ment it when she had said anything? She swallowed a lump in her throat and tried to match the determination in his eyes. "But...will I be with you?" she asked, the workds spilling out.
