Eyes blinked at the edge of the ShadowClan den. Timidly, Dogclaw...no, Dogstar now, stepped into it, breathing a deep sigh. Somehow, he felt like he had returned home. Smiling slighlty, he turned his head to the wall, and saw the dried moss that had been sitting on the floor for...he guessed quite some time. A faint smile appeared on his face as he settled down, gazing out into the sunlight. A shaft fell on his face, illuminating his bright eyes. Before long, he sighed, and lay his head down onto his paws. It was all starting now...something different...

The ShadowClan Deputy spotted the leader, her old friend, and Clan mate looking about, searching the Clan. Dogstar was finally leader, and Windchaser had stepped down, due to needing revoery from her mother dying, and trying to serve under a leader, that would not go away, under 5 moons of serving as Leader. "Hello, Dogstar," she said, nodding poilitely. "Tired?"

Gentle eyes looked up at Windchaser. He nodded silently, once again turning his head to watch the camp. He opened his mouth to say something, then seemed to think better of it. It made him sigh to think that this Clan was his now, his responsibilty. Turning his head, he finally said, "Thanks for everything, Windchaser. I hope you'll help me in the times to come."

Windchaser nodded. "I am here for you, Dogstar. Along with Arrowpelt." Smiling, she nodded at the distant Medicine cat in the distance. "Why did you want to become leader?" she asked, suddenly.

Dogstar himself was surprised by the question. He looked up into the roof of the den, wondering himself about the question. Why did he want to become leader? Was he power-hungry? Now that he thought about it, it seemed he couldn't quite think of a satisfactory reason. "Erm...well...I...uh...I guess I just wanted to help the Clan. They've seen so many leaders go down or leave, that I guess I feel it's my duty to help them realize it's not all bad."
