The next day Smoke set out to find Salem and then travel though the woods. Salem's scent was easy to pick up and she found him in some bushes. He looked worried and a little upset."What's the matter?'' Smoke asked him.His face brightened at the sight of her then darkened.
"Sandclaw and I can't have kits because it would cause problems in her clan."He explained, and rolled over on his back and sighed.
''I'll go find Sandclaw and see if I can find an answer to you two love birds problem."Smoke said, trying to reasure him.He nodded and closed his eyes.Well I now have a reson to go out into the forest she thought to herself and dashed into the woods.
Where to find Sandclaw, she pondered this question. I can't go to Thunderclan's camp because they'ed kill me or it'll raise qustions. She sat down inside Thunderclan territory.I'll stay here and wait for her to come here on patrol she decided.I hope no one else besides her comes.

Smoke was waiting with Salem when Sandclaw. "I believe you are making a good decision." She told Sandclaw." But then again, it's not what I think but what you think. Remember, never do anything you will regret later." She smiled at her."I will watch this cerimony from somewhere no one will see or smell me. See ya again, someday, I hope." Getting up she dissapeared into the forest.

Sandclaw led Salem to the Thunderclan camp. She knew she was making the right decision.

Salem shook his calico coat and padded after Sandclaw. He turned quickly and gave Smoke a farewell lick. Sandclaw waited and then set off. Salem raced to keep up. The logs Sandclaw cleared in a single leap forced him to scramble over. But he was better off than he would have been a moon ago. Ever since he had met Sandclaw he had practised being a forest cat.
Eventually they came to a gorse thicket. Sandclaw walked through a narrow tunnel. Salem gulped and followed her through.
