Ghost sat near the edge of a lone barn. This barn was empty and lonely. "Hm..." Ghost entered it, and as he ented the barn door creeked. Scared out of his fur Ghost ran up a hay loft that was near by. The calico cat began to laugh as he realized it was only a barn door.
Entering the unknown dark space Ghost saw many mice and a few voles. "I could get used to this." Ghost began to spot a few mice and in the next ten minutes, he hd two mice for dinner. "You know what... I think I will live here." Ghost began to make himself confortable in the hay and closed his eyes. "Atleast for now." He drifted off to sleep.

"Hello?" A soft voice called uncertainly into the dark interior of the barn. Poking her pretty head around the door, one could pick out her green orbs, glowing like traffic lights in the gloom, and a nocturnal creature would make out her tabby stripes. Both charateristics were marks of the Apprentice's Father, Darkfur, the long-dead Leader of the Old Rouges. At least, that is what she reffered to them, believing tha they were twisted by the evil of The Night, the bloodthirsty murderess who ahd nearly added the Apprentice to her deathlist.
It was Brownpaw waiting by the door of the barn. Brownpaw had been through what she considered hell in her life, right from when she came into this world of light. Her Mother, Smoke, had died before Brownpaw was born and had to be cut out of her abdomen. Their were four kittens in the litter, Rowan, Storm, Pepper and Brownie. Storm was the throwback to their lost Mother, stained grey-blue and kepping her lovely orbs, while Brownie was an exact copy of Darkfur. Rowan and Pepper were tabby and white. Each sibling had found out their Father was a Rouge far to late and hated him ofr it, whilst they joined separate Clans, bar Brownpaw and the newly-named Winterpaw who both went for WindClan. Later, after finding that they loved their Father, they discovered he was dead, struck down by the WindClan Warrior, Hollowheart, yet the closest of the siblings, Rowanpaw and Brownpaw, did not believe it, and so the ThunderClan tom and WindClan she-cat went to the Rouge Camp to speak with Nightspirit.
During that period of time, Brownpaw had found the Kittypet, Forest, and brought him back to WindClan to become Forestpaw. Now he had left, and Brownpaw had been following his scent to this very barn, eager to see her friend again. "Forest?"

Ghost, known as Forest to this she-cat, poked his head up at the sounds his old name. "Forest no longer lives here, the ghost of his old life does." Ever since getting the rejected feeling Forest had become different. He never talked unless he was addressed and he only gave simple and flat answers.
The calico cat began to realize that this was Brownpaw. the she-cat that had inspired him to join WindClan and the one that had almost touched his heart, yet, he never told a soul. He knew of another she was for and never even tries and thing. He began to manuever himsself very slowly so that he would appear in the barn door light that she had left open. That way the colorful lights would make hima appear like a whost for a few seconds, hence giving him his name and what made him happy.

((Ok))
The calico face that appeared before her was one that she greatly recognised and liked. T'was Forest who stood before her, though his words were strange and alien, his mew a little hoarser than it had been. "Forest? What's going on?" Her own voice was uncertain and hesitating, as if she were afraid of this transforme cat.

"I am Ghost," meowed the confused cat. "The Ghost of Forest." The ruffles fur began to move closer to this brown she-cat. "Brownpaw?" It was her, the she-cat that had brought him to the strange Clan,WindClan. "Why have you come?" He straightened out and sat, staring at her with green eyes.

As the calico tom took a step towards her, Brownpaw could but take a step back, keeping a distance between her and him. "No," The brown tabby Apprentice breathed, her voice soft like the flutter of an owl's wings. "You are, and always will be, Forest. Now what is going on?" Her sage lamplights flashed uncertainly, mirroring the bewildered she-cat's thoughts as she stared at her friend. It felt like she was losing everyone over a long space of time, her Mother, her Father, her Uncle dissapearing and rappearing then dissappearing again. All that Brownpaw had ever managed to hold on to were her siblings and her friends.

The little calico cat could not argue at the moment. "Forest is gone." Ghost began to move closer to her, soon he was right next to her, fur pressing. "Ghost is near." The confused cat sat down, staring hard and slyly at her. "Yet again, Brownpaw, why have you come?"

((PM me this plot of yours))
"I asked first," Brownpaw's arguement was like the play-cries of a Kit, each high pitched note pathetic in such a dark atmosphere. Suddenly, the tabby she-cat felt fur pressed against hers and instinctively, Brownpaw slipped sideways, her fur standing on end as an attempt to make herself look bigger than she truly was.

//I am still working on it however, I have some of it worked out.//
Ghost looked rather annoyed but said nothing more of it. "I left WindClan because I didn't seem to fit in. After that, I found this old barn and well... I am living here." His ruffles fur moved slightly as a gentle breeze hit him. "Now your turn."

"No," Brownpaw mewed, holding her pretty head high. The green stains that made up her orbs flashed violently as Forest evaded the true meaning of her question. "Why all this Ghost nonsense? That's what I meant. Oh come on, Forest, it was kinda obvious that WindClan hadn't accepted you, though of course I did."

Ghost took no notice of her comments about him and WindClan. "WindClan is not my home. I am not going back. If you came in hopes... you are let down." He began to move forward... approaching a stack of hay. Next to it were some mice. Moving violently, he began to attack them. In an instant he had two mice killed. "Eat." Whether that was a question or order was for her to decide.

Releif flooded Brownpaw for a nanosecond as she realised that Forest had seemed to have forgotten his question as to her reasons for following him. Startled, the tabby she-cat wearily padded forward and took a small bite of the dead mouse before her. The plump offering was juicy and the sweet blood rolled down her throat as she smacke her lips. "It's good..." She murmured before taking another, larger, bite.

Something inside made him made begin to laugh. Then, the feeling died down to a slow movement of lips. "Hmm..." He quickly golpped his down, not saying a word.
"Brownpaw... why have you come?" His voice was not the same. It was full of some hopeful interest. Maybe she had come to see him... and why he left.

"I came to find my friend," Brownpaw mewed, her voice curt and shallow as she addressed Ghost, yet avoiding his orbs. "But I see that he is not here. Instead, there is a cold unloving tom who still has to decide what to do with his pathetic life."

Ghost loooked down, shamed for a slow moment. "Brownpaw.." He could no longer get out the words, his feelings. "What I do with my life... does not concern you." He turned, back to her.

"What? I was the one who gave you a life, the true life of a cat: hunting for food, sharing companionship, enjoying freedom. Not stuck in a nest eating Kittypet slop!" Glaring up at the calico tom, Brownpaw felt a slow disgust run through her as she saw how mad a loner could become.

Ghost started to look anoyed, however, keeping his voice the same he continued his thoughts. "Brownpaw... I thank you for what you did. However, life as a loner is very nice. I do not eat Kitty-pet food but hunt for myself. And, I get freedom. Freedom to live my life as I want..." He turned o face her. Moving closer he whispered in her ear, " And with who I want." He smiled quite evily.

Blinking slightly, Brownpaw rose her head high and leaned away from the calico tom, avoiding his orbs as she struggled to think what to say. "You're a Loner. Loners can't enjoy the companionship of others, for they shun it."

Ghost frowned as the little brown tabby rejected his muzzle. "I can have a mate if I want," he insisted. Angry at Brownpaw he turned his gaze to the hay. "How is Rosepaw?" he asked.

Brownpaw did not miss the frown as she backed away, though no satisfaction came from watching the flicker of uncertainty, for it was only out of loyalty to Silverpaw that she was cruel to the tom who ahd not done anything to her. Of course, she would feel great satisfaction if it were Torrentheart who she were shunning. At Ghost's query of her friend, Brownpaw thought of how the pretty she-cat had gone into a slight depression after the many bad things happened to her - Her Mother's death, her Father's choice to leave, Hawkpaw rejecting her for Pheonixpaw, the list seemed endless. "Not thinking about you," Her voice was cold as she spoke to the tom before her.

Ghost just hissed at jer reponse. "Well then..." He felt some jealousy crawl up him as he figured she had found a tom to love. But that didn't matter... nothing really did. "HAs anything happened to her?" he stared hard and close, so not to miss a single flick of Brownpaw's eyes. "What about Puddlepaw?" Puddlepaw was quite young and he had never held a conversation with her.. however, he thought he might try to cover up asking about Rosepaw.

"Neither of them have missed you, if that's what you want to know," Brownpaw meowed, speaking the truth, for neither she-cat had voiced Ghost's old name. "Nothing has happened that a Loner would be interested in...or that I would disclose to you," Orbs sparkling for a few moments, Brownpaw mewed, "However, Silverpaw is happy, he seems to be showing more interest in me as a friend and I'm enjoying it."

//Sorry about this post... my friend's comp is not letting me log in. It says at the bottom that I am on but the screen still claims I am a traveler. Once again, sorry.//
Ghost stared hard and long. So Rosepaw had said nothing.. yet again, that didn't matter. "Silverpaw?" he asked quetioningly, "I don't think I..." A flame sparked as he remembered he old silver tom that was Bronwpaw's very close friend... the thing he wanted to be. "How... how is he doing?" Jealously floated in his body and he was stiff.

"Oh, he's really growing into himslef as a hunter," Brownpaw teased as she struck Ghost's sore spot. Green lamplights glittering emeralds, she continued, "I am constantly recieving lovely gifts."

Ghost just grunted. He couldn't get ahything out of his pretty she-cat... unless. "Brownpaw... Brownpaw, we are friends, right? Of course we are. Why don't you come and sit by me.. we can.. talk."

The next question was a surprise to the pretty tabby. Surprising herself, Brownpaw padded forward and sat down beside the tom, remembering in time to give a long-suffering sigh to lighten the mood. "Come back." She mewed, pleading for not the first time in her life.

Ghost looked pleased, she was beginning to come to him.. it wouldn't be long. "Brownpaw... you must understand. I have had a long life and well.. I need to be comething that I have always wanted." These words came out like nothing, no meaning or thought. "I just want to be.. me." Putting on a good show he began to look sad and deprssed. "You don't undstand."

"Well you obviously weren't born a true Kittypet," Brownpaw mewed, not looking at Ghost as she spoke. Ignoring his attempts to look depressed, the pretty tabby sat still, only a breeze ruffling her pelt.
