Traitorous Heart of Shadow the Death

Shadowkit stood a long ways from the rogue camp. His heart was pounding. He was a traitor, an attempted murderer. He had the right to be scared. He guled down bile and forced himself to move toward the camp. He stopped. He couldn't do it! He couldn't leave his sisters, a life of promise. He had to. He was the Shadow. ThunderClan hated him, they wanted him here. No, traitor! You left on your own! You tried to kill Cloudkit and Burningkit. You would have liked to kill Knightwarrior. Fogpaw and Sapphirekit too! I hated them, and they hated me. Wht would it have mattered? You would have had a mark on your soul that would have killed you yourself. It's already there, I'm dying. I am Death. Shadowkit narrowed is eyes at the camp. He walked to it boldly, then yet shakily. "I am the traitorous Heart of Shadow the Death." he hissed under his breath.

[Thorn & Co. (Night)]

Thorn trotted out of the camp, looking back at his mate. Leaving her alone with Blackthorn robably wasn't the best idea, but he trusted Savvanahheart. He sniffed, and, smelling ThunderClan, started looking around. it was then he spotted Shadowkit and walked toward him. " Hello, there. What are you doing out of ThunderClan terra?" He growled the last part. He and Thistle had come from ThunderClan, but had left moons before. Now they were rogues, merciless killers, but Thorn was going to do that to a kit.

Shadokit lifted his head and narrowed his eyes to prove he wasn't scared, but inside he was shaking and wailing. "My business is no concern of yours!" he spat. Then he looked away and choked back a wail. "I'm running away, it doesn't matter to you. I hate ThunderClan and I want to get their stench off of me and take a new scent. A new home." He dared to look up. "I want to live with the rogues..." he hesitated as he added, "Please."

" You'd have to ask the Night, but it's fine with me." The tom smiled. " Anycat who ahtes ThunderClan is a friend o' mine!" He sat beside Shadowkit, the smile erased from his blue-grey face. " A new home, eh? Well, first, tell me your name, and we'll go from there."

Shadowkit forced himself to stay calm. Ya, the cat was sitting next to him and over doing it with the sympathy, but it was a rogue! He didn't possibly think he could take on a rogue? Shadowkit looked up and took a deep breath. "They called me Shadowkit, my warrior name probly would have been Shadowheart cause that's what my mom said. I can't go by Shadowkit anymore. Mabye Shadowheart, but there is a name that'l suit me." His eyes narrowed as he hissed out the name the flowed like venom and stung like claws to his tongue and heart. "The Traitorous Heart of Shadow, the Death." It was a name designed to forever remind him who he was: A lsot soul, a murderer, a traitor, Death. It was made to slowly wear him done until he himself could finally die.

Thorn chuckled, but seeing the seriousness of the kit, he stopped. " That's a long name. How about Shadow? It fits you alright." He couldn't believe he was talking to this kit; what kind of name was that? Traitorous Heart of Shadow, the Death. He had some serious problems...

Shadowkit nodded slowly. "What do you think the Night will call me?" Shadowkit had always referred himself as Death. He had been the near cause of two, and besides that, he felt dead. There was no ope for him, there never was. He had half expected the rogues to keep his Clan name, or give him one suitible for a rogue. Somehow he had convinced himself this name would be Death, but he liked Shadow better. It was a common name and gently reminded him of his family left behind whom he really did love. It also let cats know who he really was, a cat lost in shadows.

" Nightspirit will probably call you what you want to be called; right now she's talking to Dark, BloodClan leader." Thorn looked sternly at Shadowkit, not even his eyes showing happiness, which was rare now taht he ahd Savvanaheart. " Do you know what you're getting yourself into? We're at war; this isn't just some little kit game! This is for warriors, Shadow. Are you sure you don't want to go back to ThudnerClan, where a life is set for you?" He lowered his voice to just above a whisper. " Are you sure you want to leave your family behind?" Thorn knew what he had sacrificed to end up where he was now. He had two sisters that he knew of, Nightkit and Cloudkit, but they knew nothing of him. Nightkit would be Nightpaw now, and CLoudkit would be getting a mentor soon. How he missed his old life...but he had stuck close to Thistle ever since they were kits, then apprentices, the finally warriors together, and following her here was no set back.

Shadowkit looked at Thorn steadily. "I am war. Everything I do is the cause of war. I am Death itself. Anyone who crosses me knows that. My family will be fine with out me, better infact because I won't be there to ruin their reputaions. ThunderClan hates me. The only life to lead there would be that of an outcast." He narrowed his eyes. "I'll fight for the rogues and against the Clan I hate because they hate me."

Thorn stood, turning to go back to camp. " That's your choice. It's your life, do what you want with it." The blue-grey tom looked over his shoulder. " Did you know a kit named Cloudkit?" He asked quietly.

Shadowkit's eyes flared fire. "Don't even mention that scum-bag to me!" he spat. "She's the reason I got this far in the first place!"

[Thorn & Co. (Night)]

" Whoa there, buckoe!" Thorn jumped back, his mouth pulled back in a snarl. " What'd she ever do to you?" Shadowkit was in for it if he said another bad word about his sister, Thorn decided. He was sure Cloudkit had done nothing wrong.

Shadowkit narrowed his eyes. "She made me mad on purpose." he spat. "She wanted me to fight her! Then when I did, she learned that you don't mess with me and I got in trouble! It wasn't my fault!"

Thorn stepped forward warningly. " So what'd you do? Kill her? Maul her? Leave her to die?" The tom had never gotten so mad before in his life. He never thought that he still loved Cloudkit, even after he left. Nightpaw saved her, I'm sure of it, he thought. Of course she had saved her little sister; they were family.

Shadowkit sniffed smartly. "I scratched her to bits and left her sore! She lost so much blood, she probaly won't be apprenticed until after my sisters. Don't you lay a paw near me! I faught a warrior once!" Shadowkit drew back at the fierce look in Thorn's eyes.

Thorn smiled. " You're scared, aren't you? Yet you think you're strong enough to defeat me!" He took another step forward. " But she isn't dead, is she? Cloudkit lived, and you're mad at yourself for hurting so many cats!"

[Rain]

Rain was walking when she sall Shadowkit.She felt different,she felt,like, she would if she was kind."H-hello" meowed the kit.She smiled even wider as she herd the fight "Thorn ever one knows that your the biggest loser in all the land" she hissed

"Stay out of this, Rain!" Thorn snapped, turning on the kit. " Go to camp, now! This is between me and Shadow!"

[Rain]

_{"Give me one good reason fox-dung and i might leave your poor worthless butt alone" Rain meowed like she was speaking to a very young kit.}

THorn growled, his eyes balls of fire. " I thought I told you to stay out of this! Unless you want to make this your problem."

Shadow spat irritably. "Just back off, k! I can handle myself." He looked at Thorn, hatred brning in his eyes. This cat was no diferent from te rest. Knightwarrior had been farely easy, of course he hadn't one but he had lived through the neck bites and given her some scores of his own.

[Nightfur and Co.]

" Hey, I told you, s'your problem. I'm just trying to help." The anger ebbed away from Thorn's heart, though it will take a while for him to simmer down. This kit couldn't seriously think he could take a full grown warrior?

Shadowkit lifted his head, mockery growing in his eyes. Mockery, that had been his greatest weapon. Once a warrior got mad because a kit was mocking them, they went out of control putting themselves to shame. "I'm just tring to help." he hissed deepining his voice so he sounded older. "If you were trying to help," he mewed letting his voice drop to normal. "You wouldn't have yelled at me like that."

OOC: Then he's in for a big surprise.

Thorn sighed. Nocat could get through to this kit if he couldn't. " Cats help in different ways. You let yourself get mad. Control your anger, and Death may not be so close."

"Death's here whether you like it or not." Shadowkit hissed. "I am Death, and nothing can change that."

Thorn put his face closer to Shadowkit's, whispering, " Not even a friend?"

Shadowkit drew back and answered, "There are none."

[Thorn & Co. (Night)]

" Don't be so sure about that." Thorn backed up, turning towards the entrance to the Rogue camp once again. " A friend may be closer then you think, Shadow. Even a shadow lets in the light once in a while."

Shadowkit narrowed his eyes. "I'm aloud in there?" he mewed nodding to the camp's entrance.

OOC: Not to be picky, but it's 'allowed', not 'aloud'. Just so you know. *holds up mallet defensively*

BIC: Thorn started to walk away, meowing over his shoulder," Every rogue is welcome if the Night allows it." The tom stops, waiting for Shadowkit to follow him. " But you'll never know if you don't try, now will you?" He added with a smile.
