Traveling Herbs

[Lilyfeather]

Lilyfeather sat in her den, waiting with herbs at her feet for the group that would come soon. She had made them the moment she heard of Stormstar's death, knowing that he would not want her to waste time when the time came for Dragon(star) to make the trip to Moonstone.

[glow=aqua,2,300]Streamkit limped gently into the entrance of the medicine cat den. She had just been at the nursery, watching all the kits for a while and had come back to Lilyfeathers den. Her soft blue eyes scanned the seen and watched Lilyfeather carefully.

Her pelt glowed warmly in the sunlight that filtered through the branches of trees that reached for it, like squirrels for a nut. Streamkit lowered her head and paced into the den.

Resting beside Lilyfeather, a cloud of dust puffed when she sat down. She gave a cautious sniff in the pile of herbs direction and pulled back slowly, carefull not to make a wind tho scatter the piles.

She tilted her head slowly toward Lilyfeather's direction and asked softly; " What herbs are these?"[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonheart padded quickly into Lilyfeather's den, they would need to leave soon if they were going to get to the moonstone before dark. "Lilyfeather, have you got the herbs?" He meowed as he saw her standing towards the back of the den, he then saw Steamkit reasting beside her, "Oh, hello Streamkit." He said as he nodded at the young cat. [/glow]

Crimsonpaw bounded into the den were she had been told her new leader was here. "Dragonstar, can I have a mentor? Rainstorm offered if thats alright with you?" she mewed exictedly bouncing.

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonheart turned to look at the apprentice. "Of course you can have a mentor, but not nesessarily Rainstorm." He meowed. "When I get back from the moonstone I will give all the aprentices mentors." [/glow]

Streamkit could hardly keep her voice at a considerate level but ti was so hard after all these painful months in the nursery. Maybe I will be a medicine cat apprentice! The thought jiggled through her like a hundred worms rising to the surface of the ground. Her eyes glowed with anticipation as the thoughts of sorting herbs and talking with the other apprentices. Of course she wasn't sure if her dream of healing would come true but she could dream of it.

Streamkit let a dreamy sigh escape her throat and her eyes fluttered. Leaving the nursery! What a relief! Streamkit padded over to Dragonstar and gave the air in front of her a few waps with her paw as if the soften it.
" When will you come back?" She mewed curiously, her voice quivering.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonheart smiled down at the kit. "I'll be back tomorrow." He mewed. "Where are the others?" He said as he turned to look at
Lilyfeather. "They should be here by now."[/glow]

[Northland]

Northpaw scampered eagerly into the den, just in time to catch what Dragon(star) was saying. "Here!" She mewed excitedly, turning around quickly. She gazed back out of the den searching for Lightpaw. She'll be here soon, thought Northpaw. Her exitement turning into a fizzling bubbling energy.

[Lilyfeather]

"Ah, well..." Lilyfeather nudged the hearbs towards Dragonheart and Northpaw. "Here are the herbs. It's a shorter trip than it would be if you were in, say, Thunderclan, but I would still caution you to preserve them until the last possible moment. This isn't everyone, right?" She tilted her head slightly, smiling and filcking her tail. A good attitude would mean good luck.

[glow=aqua,2,300]Steamkit's ears perched thoughtfully on the top of her head. More cats? Coming to get herbs? That would mean that this trip had to be very important if many cats were going. Must mean Dragonstar is going to get his nine lives! Streamkit's pelt bristled with anticipation of the coming day. Maybe even she would be apprenticed! The thoughts sizzled like fire crackers in her mind and the more they flamed, the more she had to bite her lip to keep from yowling out to StarClan in glee.

Her eyes glowed warmly as she glanced around the gathered cats. Slowly, she allowed her mouth to hinge open a inch to purr a response,"How many are going?"[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]"Five, me, Lilyfeather, Northpaw, Lightpaw and Snowpelt." Dragonheart told the excited kit. "Northpaw could you go and find the others for me we need to get to the Moonstone before moon-high." He meowed as he turned to look at his aprentice. Dragonheart was trying to stay calm but his mind was full of worries. Will I be accepted by Starclan? Will we get stopped by a Windclan patrol? Am I the right leader for Riverclan? Does my clan accept me? He quickly pushed these thoughts out of his head. I can't worry now, I have to be strong for my clan.[/glow]

[Nightfur and Co.]

OOC: Yipes! I'm so sorry guys. Unexpected vacation.

Snowpelt walked calmly into the den and glanced around, picking up the sights of Streamkit, Crimsonpaw, Northpaw, Lilyfeather, and Dragonstar. "Sorry it took me so long, Dragonheart," he meowed apologetically with a small smile. Lightpaw came in soon behind him with a blush.

"Are these the herbs?" she mewed.

[glow=red,2,300]"No worries, but it may mean we need to go a bit faster on the way there." Dragonheart mewed. "Can we leave now or is there anything anyone has to do urgently?" He then asked looking around at the assembled cats. He was looking forwards to having a long think on the long walk to Highstones and wanted to make sure that they got there in time.[/glow]

"Of course, Dragonheart." Snowpelt nodded, burning with pride. He gobbled down the bitter tasting herbs quickly, so he would taste them that much. LIghtpaw went slower, retching at every mouthful.

[glow=red,2,300]Dragonheart followed suit and chewed on the traveling herbs in disgust, Why couldn't they taste at least edible He thought as he swallowed. "Come on then." He mewed as he headed towards the entrance of the camp.

[glow=aqua,2,300]Streamlight looked disappointedly after the cats as they left off to the camp entrance. They would be going to Moonstone and exploring while she waited her doing nothing but sitting with the herbs....not that she didn't like sitting in the den, she liked sitting in the medicine cat den mostly when there was company. Then a idea sparked her mind and she open her mouth wide.

" I'll look after the herbs while your gone!"

She hollered after them, he blue fur tingling with excitement of looking at the herbs and memorizing their scents and what they did while the others went to the Moonstone. She looked back at the herbs, drinking in their scent, then at the retreating cats.[/glow]
