A ugly looking apprentice padded up to a big den. It was darker then camp was, but his eyes soon adjusted to the dim sun rays that made their way down to the Medicine Cat Den. The tom apprentice looked around, no one in sight. He had brought a peice of fresh kill to the she-cat known as Lilyfeather. As he understood, she was a medicine cat, and really didn't have time to fetch food and eat, so the tom brought a plump carp to the she-cat, while he himself chose a regular sized river vole. It was one of the cloest things prey to what he ate back in the desert. Looking around, he was able to point out some herbs, Marigold, Watermint, and Catnip, along with many more. He felt home in this den, atleast, he felt closest to home in this den. [/b][/center]

[glow=aqua,2,300]A small kit leaped out of the herbs. And stumbled. " Hello!" She meowed happily. Streamkits wound was not healed yet, so she wondered around the den waiting for fun. Now it had came. Streamkit was not sure if this cat was fun, but at least it was a start. She bounded up to the cat. Her eyes gleamed happily. " Lilyfeather!" she cried out. " Someone came to visit!"[/glow]

"A visitor?" Lilyfeather said, emerging from the back of the den with a very large leaf in her mouth. "Ah!" she purred. "Hello there! You're that tom that....yes...Raggedpaw, yes?" She bowed her head slightly in greeting. "Come in, please! Oh, Streamkit! Sit down, won't you? You don't want to get too excited and hurt yourself all over again, do you?" she put the leaf aside with a patch of feverfew and stepped up to the two younger cats. "It's nice to finally meet you!" she said cheerfully.

The small apprentice gave a small bow, lower then Lilyfeather's. Finally retracting his head back to it's regular position, the ugly apprentice gave a small smile, not big enough to see his teeth, but nevertheless, a greeting smile. "Now... I should be saying that to you!" He bowed again, with humor this time, "I've heard much about this... RiverClan medicine cat, it's nice to finally find out who I am acting that I have meant before!" THe humorrous that he was directed torwards his voice, came out as a fullfledged laugh after he mewed his sentences.
He pushed the carp over to Lilyfeather, and then looked embarresed, and mewed to Streamkit, "Are you old enough to have a vole?"
Raggedpaw's eyes then focused on the small kit's paw, he smiled, "Now... what did you do, Streamkit?" He mewed. The paw looked as if it was healed, but if she kept bounceing up and down like that, it would defeniatly break, just as Lilyfeather had told her. Keeping his mouth shut about bragging about his past apprenticeship with Dragon, the TravelClan medicine cat, he asked the small and full-of-energy kit, "What happened, did a dog bite off your paw or something?!" His short-furred tail whipped through the air, as if trying to whack a annoying fly. His dull green eyes shone brightly then usual as he smiled at the enegtic kit, waiting for her reply.

[glow=aqua,2,300]Streamkit twisted her head to the side. Her long sleek tail twined with a hanging vine. Her shining blue pelt quivered as the cold air pushed its way through the entrance. She blinked some snow from her eye and yawned. " Uh," she began." I got bit by a really big carp." She purred and sniffed at Raggedpaw. She blibked a few more snowflakes from her eye. " Um, I can eat a vole." she continued. " Im almost 6 moons. I just am a bit smaller then others." She purred shyly and padded over to a pile of crisp white snow. She rubbed her wound in it and cleaned it. Streamkit was little. Compared to a regular kit she was jay size. Not to small though, just small enough to look young. She ran back over to the other cats. She smiled and sighed. She was glad to have a visiter and was prepared to ask a few questions. " Why did you come to visit?"[/glow]

"Oh my, I think you're being interrogated, Raggedpaw!" said Lilyfeather, giggling a little. She pawed at the carp that Raggedpaw had placed at her feet, glancing up at him only once with an expression that said, "Is this for me?" She was a little hungry, since she had forgotten about eating for a while to take care of Streamkit. "Well, since Streamkit already asked, is there anything at all I can help you with?"

The small looking apprentice nodded his head as he looked and interrparted her expression. His ugly looking pelt, atleast the long hairs, relazed and smoothed out as he began to speak.
"I used to be a medicne cat apprentice. They just left me... my clan, and well, I just wanted to see what the medicine cat was like around RiverClan."
His voice shook as he spoke of his old clan, TravelClan. Dragon was his mentor, and Raggedpaw's old name was Turf. He was around his midtraining when a battle took place amoung the clans. Leader rushed to help, along with Storm, PlantClan leader, and Hollow the StoneClan leader. It all worked out well, traveling through the night, resting through the day, until they got to the forest. Turf, or Raggedpaw as you would call him, went to look for some herbs, to be specific, Tansy Leafs, and Garlic Juice. Tansy Leafs were usued for hunger and Garlic Juice was used for preventing infection. The small cat got lost, and his clan took the rest of the journey without him. After the battle, he finally made it to it, with only the stench of blood and injuries. No cats were there, every cat was gone. He wandered to the nearest camp, as he was still there.
He shivered one more time as he relived the story in his head about his past, and Raggedpaw looked up at Lilyfeather, his olive eyes looked past the medicine cat at the herbs. There it was, Wildflower Shoots. Raggedpaw had just learned about it, and that herb was his last teaching with Dragon. [/b][/center]

[glow=aqua,2,300]Streamkit glanced at him, her eyes flicked in the shafts sunlight peeking through the den entrance. She shifted her paws under her weigh to get comfortable. Licking one dainty paw as she lay down with a puff! of snow climbed up the air around Streamkit. She blinked her eyes and stretched her hind leg deeper into the den, "What was it like to be medicine cat apprentice?" She purred adoringly. She stretched herself across the floor and more snow hit the air. A ray of light hit the snow and a sparkling flash of ice dazzled the air causing Streamkit to blink in the glory of it. She turned back to Raggedpaw. She had enjoyed the scratch but it was time to get back to business. " What was it like in Travelclan?" She asked her eyes sparkling again, but this time in the curious way.[/glow]

The apprentice smiled at Streamkit. His olive green eyes flashed back to the desert.
"It was always hot in the days, but the nights were cool. You got very little prey, and it was scrawny prey. You had to be very good hunters to catch big prey like you have here. TravelClan lived in a ditch, with ferns, dry and dead fern roots as your dens. Medicine Cat's always got second choice, and so they would eat many things like snakes, and rats, and mice once in a while. Treats were cactus joive, witch was always delicious, but it was a very rare drink. We had always had only one stream. It was never anything like the river. The medicine cat was well- respected, and we always had a patient. From cracked pads, to broken legs."
Raggedpaw described TravelClan so dreamily. RiverClan was a more spoiled compared to the desert, but it was also a very hard working clan. They earned the oppruntunity to be spoiled, but the desery was hard. Raggedpaw never realized that there was an easier life out there while he was at the desert. The ginger apprentice looked at the kit and than at Lilyfeather, waiting patiently for them to say something, or atleast, he wished one of them would say something. [/color][/b][/center]
