Hunting

Autumn moved through the reeds around the frozen river, silent as a shadow. Her stalking technique was better than it had been two moons ago. Necessity brings out all sort of skills in any cat, she thought bitterly. She heard the sound of snow crunching, but she didn't stop moving immediately. The wind was blowing hard this night, and snow was falling in thick waves. It would be better to continue moving with the wind, instead of stopping and disrupting the pattern of it. her golden eyes searched the terrain for what had caused the sound. The snow made it harder to see, but she thought she could just make out three large shapes moving through the snow. She felt only a slight twinge of fear, as she remembered that Riverclan warriors often went on patrol. She wondered if Heavystorm was out there... Stop that! her mind yelled. She shook her head and concentrated on finding somewhere to hide. Meanwhile, the strangers drew closer...

Angelur padded through the snow grumbling. "Why I'm out here I don't know!" she hissed under her breath. Then a scent caught her attention. It was the scent of a Kitty-Pet. Crouching down low, Angelfur began to move forward. When the Kitty-Pet was in her vision, she looked carefully at it. It didn't look like much of a threat but... "What are you doing on my Clans Territory?" Angelfur asked coming from where she was crouching.

Autumn thought quickly for a moment. She had to come up with a believable story, rather than tell this clan cat that she'd been hunting in her territory. It seemed to annoy forest cats when you did this. "I'm lost," She shouted quickly, trying to be heard over the wind. "I was exploring some woods near Two-leg place when this blizzard started up. I've been wandering around in it ever since."

Angelfurt listened carefully to teh Kitty-Pets story. It seemed beliveable, but what was a Kitty--Pet doing out in the cold anyways? Didn't their owners keep them locked up in the Leaf-Bare? I can't just leave her out here to freeze. Or can I? Angelfur thought carefully. "What are you doing out in the cold anyways?" she decided to ask.

Autumn debated mentally whether a lie would be good. Remembering her scars, she decided the truth would work best. "My house burned down in a fire. I no longer live with two legs." The snow was blowing hard enough for Autumn's appearance to be slightly blurred, and indistinct.
