Regret

Gingerkit sat on the bank of the river, Flightpaw had stopped seeing her, she felt as if he despised her, and where she came from, her heart was broken and all the thoughts of happiness escaped her mind. She stared into the blank blue water, and saw fish swim. Gingerkit sighed and raised her head, and lowered it again, slow tears dripped down her face, she knew he wasn't going to see her anymore, not at all, and here she was at four moons old, and in two more moons she was going to be apprenticed, and he was going to be a warrior, the love they shared she would never forget, but now was the time to move, on she shook the tears and raised her head, sitting up strongly. Gingerkit saw the bushes move, was this the impossible?

Flightpaw padded by the river. Why hadn't Gingerkit come to see him last meeting? Did he do something wrong? He saw a clump of ginge fur near the bushes.

"Gingerkit?" He mewed slightly shocked. What if she hated him? No, she wouldn't. Flightpaw is in love with her. But does she still feel that way?

Gingerkit looked up to see flightpaw, she hissed at him and got up, her fur poked, out, she started to walk, "How come you never came to see me" she growled as she turned around to face him angrily. Anger rising in her Emerald eyes, her ears falt against her head.

"What?!" Flightpaw growled shocked and angry "YOU didnt come see ME last meeting! I dont get it! What did I do wrong?" Flightpaw's pelt bristled angrily. He could feel tears burning his eyes. 'No, dont cry now.' He ordered himself.

"You never came, i waited all night and stayed awake all day waiting for you!!...you got my hopes up, and dropped them, I came every single time to see you..I even snuck into the thundercaln camp to try to find you!" she hissed, her eyes now starting to burn as tears began to rise and hit her eyes, "You did everything Wrong!! you left me!"she yowled at him, now the tears starting to fall down her cheeks, her fur still puffed out, and her calws unsheathed.

"You dont understand!" Flightpaw cried "My dad was watching me like a hawk! I dont know why! Oh, and the next meeting I DID show up, and guess what, no one was there! I can get in big trouble for not doing my apprentice duties!" Flightpaw felt one tear drip down. He turned away.

"I tried coming, I was over in Windclan getting held prisoner, for trying to come to see you the other way around, because a thunderclan patrol was at sunningrock and the river, I had no where to go from there! I tried to come" she hissed at him, "I can get in so much trouble risking my life for someone that doesn't show up when I come to show him I love him with all my heart" she growled and swipped an unsheathed paw at him.

Flightpaw ignored the scratch. It hurt him but not like how he was feeling now.

"Gingerkit..."He whispered. He started to walk away, tail drooping and head low. Flightpaw stopped on his side of teh border and just laid there. He didn't care who caught him, it didn;t matter now. The one cat he loved more then anyone hated him.

"How could you abandoned me....I thought you loved me flightpaw?!" she whispered now...feeling awful that she hit him across the face, she turned around and slowly walked back to her border, she felt the ice cold tears drip down her face, "goodbye flightapw" she whispered. Gingerkit's tail dropped and her head bent down, her ears flattened on her head, "I'm so sorry" she whispered to him. She felt as if this was the last time they got to see each other, and it was the worst and the most awful feeling in the world, gingerkit regretted ever feeling this way, she regretted hitting him across the face, she regretted ever coming into the world. Gingerkit looked up and ran back to flightpaw, laying there with him, she gently licked his bleeding scratch, "I'm so sorry" she whispered in his ear, "I'm so sorry" she mewed, tears falling onto flightpaw.

Flightpaw looked at Gingerkit. Was she... licking him? She was sorry? Flightpaw regretted yelling at her, he regretted not meeting her. He tried, he truly did try. But did Gingerkit believe him.

"Its ok. And I'm sorry too" He whispered. He gently licked Gingerkit's head. Flightpaw felt the tears run down his face. Flightpaw wrapped his tail around Gingerkit.

"In the sunlight or the rain, brightest nights or darkest days I'll always, feel the same way. Whatever road you may be on, know you're never too far gone for my love is there, wherever you may be. Just remember that I'll always love you" Flightpaw mewed.

((Its a song I heard on the radio. I changed a few words but I thought it fit. Oh, I'm crying now))

Gingerkit wrapped her tail around flightpaw, she let out a gentle purr, "I believe you tried" she mewed/whispered to him, and listened to his heart beat, "You are far away, but you own my soul.
You have stolen my heart,
another love I could never know.
A part of me, you will always be.
Only your love can set me free.
Free from the loneliness and the pain.
Will we meet? Or is it all in vain?
I pray to starclan above.
Please flightpaw I need your love." whispered gingerkit, and purred as she still listened to his heart beat, smiling, and hoping he would forgive her, for hitting him with a sharp unsheathed paw.

(I've had this poem on my desktop forever and I think it would be really good to put in this so there it was a sweet poem!!)

"I missed you" Flightpaw mewed "I'm sorry for not meeting you. Its just, things are tougher now. I still dont have a mentor, and I'm learning to hunt on my own. I'm really sorry." He prayed to Star Clan that she would forgive him.

"same here, soon in about two moons I'll be apprenticed and you should soon be warrior...I know someone that could be your mentor...but I don't know...things have definately gotten so tough, it's hard to get away from camp without having someone follow me, and the guards have gotten bigger and all of the plans have sunked, I can't do anything about it" she mewed as a lonely frown swipped on her face.

"Who could mentor me?" Flightpaw mewed. He was glad that they weren't fighting anymore. He never EVER wanted that to happen again. It was horrible. He knew how Gingerkit felt about the guards. Why was everything so much more secure?

"His name is Snowclaw, his sister is in my clan, and she sneaks off all the time to go see him and well he also comes to Riverclan to hang about, he's is one of the biggest and strongest cats in thunderclan besides you, that I have seen!" she mewed and thought how much better it was to not fight with the one she loved so much and cared about with all her heart.

"I'll talk with him and Brownstar" Flightpaw mewed "Thanks" He licked Gingerkit gently.
"Lets agree to never fight again" Flightpaw mewed.

"Agreed" she meowed and licked hte top of his head.
