Swimming Challenge(Meer)

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura padded to the edge of the River Bank. She sat down and waited for Niche.

"So, you ready to put those words into action?" She growled playfully when he arrived.

[Meerful]

Niche stretched lazily. "Sure, if you want." He mewed, yawning wide.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"I'm ready" Sakura mewed. She looked into the river, small waves occaionaly popped up and a few small silver fish swam beneath her. Bunching her muscles together, Sakura plunged into the water, sending a splash around her. She re-appeared above the surface a moment later, her head all that was showing.

"C'mon" She mewed.

Niche curled his upper lip. Unlike his mother, he wasn't super ofnd of swimming, even tohugh he was pretty good at it. He stared at Sakura, sucked in his breat, puffing out his chest, and stepped back, and threw himself forward into the water.

Sakura waited for Niche to re-appear above the surface. She continued to move her legs to keep her afloat. Her eyes scanned the water, waiting for Niche to come up.

Gasping for air, Niche popped above the surface sputteirng.

"I got bit by a fish!" He complained. Of course, his missing leg was becoming a bit of a problem with the current and such. A small stream of blood was leaking from a wound in his side.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura winced at the sight of the blood. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea...

"Er- maybe we should get out, you're bleeding and blood in water..." She shuddered, hearing stories of the Large Lake where if you bled, a large fish that ate meat would find you and eat you.

[Meerful]

Niche shook his head, an evil grin on his face.

"Well, you know, possibly a monster will ocme and eat us, It'd be a neat experience wouldn't it?" He said in fake sincerity.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura shuddered again at the thought of it. When she was a kit, her mother told her about those monsters. Though they didn't live here, she was still frightened.Getting a thought, Sakura sucked in her breath, and plunged underwater.

Niche watched her going under, ad at the precise moment her head disappeared form the surface, he freaked. "SAKURA?" He shrieked, wondering if she really had gotten sucked under or something, he sucked in, and went under.

IT was dark and blue, the coldness of it sung his eye, and corrupted his vision. Where was she?

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura opened her eyes nervously. What was she doing? The water stung her eyes terribly. She could barely see Niche come under.
"Over-" She stopped and shut her mouth as water flooded in. Why did she come under again? Oh yeah, to see if she could see better. Yeah, horrible hypothesis Sakura, she scolded herself.

[Meerful]

Niche saw small bubles pop onto the above place that was like a fantasy world compared to the river. Of course, the bubbles had come from Sakura, so he swam over fast as possible, grabbing her scruff, and trying his hardest to get her to the surface. Colours intruded his vision, and he kept his jaws locked on the oxygen in his body. If he let out now, it would be all over.

Sakura kicked with her back paws to help Niche. She wanted to yowl that she was ok, but that would probably take all of her oxygen out of her. She continued to kick until they reached the surface. Sakura stayed afloat, gasping for breath.
"Are....you....o....k?" She mewed in between gasps. Part of her wanted to lash out saying she didn't need help, but what good would that do?

[Meerful]

Niche coughed, a few mouthfuls of water choking form in his chest. He smiled weakly, sheepishly. "Yeah, I guess. I was more worried about you. I don't know how I'd live without my best and pretty much only friend Sakura." He said, a stab of grief lancing through him. No other cats liked him, they were too afraid of him because of his mother.

Sakura was about to(Again) say he didn't need to worry and that she was fine. But seeing the greif go through his eyes she decided against it. She swam over to him and gave him a lick on the ear. She again wondered what gave her the crazy idea that she could see better underwater.
"You're my best friend too" Sakura mewed "But you would've still had Bone, and your sisters."

Niche pursed his lips shaking his head.

"No. Turtle is missing, I think she might be dead." He felt a small tear, wishing he had never scarred her. "Fragment chose our father over me. Steps Soft is too... Destined. She has a path and she's following it. Bone will ever like me again." Niche sighed. It seemed he had a destiny too. He was going to be alone. Niche stared at Sakura. He would've done anything to have a cat like her for a mate. Anything.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"Well you'll always have me" Sakura mewed. She felt sympathy for Niche. One sibling missing, and two just... left.
"I think we'd better get out" She mewed, her legs tiring.

((Where is Turtlepelt, I haven't seen her in awhile))

[Meerful]

//Her mom unplugged her computer.//

Niche sighed. "Okay then. I guess I should probably go too." He mewed. His paws did hurt, and his eye stung, nad water still dripped from the wet parts of his sligghtly drenched fur.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura swam back to shore and climbed up. She shook herself like a dog to get dry. When that didn't work, she just laid down. She was exhausted.

Niche followed Skura, his legs swiftly gliding him through the body. When he reached shore, more driplets of water splashed, and he began to lick his fur. He was tired, but that didn't mean he'd have to be cold too. Then he stopped. Sakura was totally drecnched. Unsure of the consequences, Niche began to lick Sakura dry.

Sakura felt herself blushing as Niche licked her.

"Thanks" She mewed "But you need to get dry too. Don't worry about me" Sakura licked her paws, which were fairly wet, and waited for Niche's response. She oped he wouldn't get mad.

Niche stopped, and began to look down at the ground uninterested.

Sakura looked at Niche. Was he mad? Sad? She felt worried. Sakura sighed and licked her paws, thinking of what to do.

Niche got up stiffly, and stretched his muscles. Not good on his part though, the sun was shining, and it only made him feel even more tired. Sunlight gleamed off his dark pelt, and then he yawned. "Well, try not to freeze to death. At least the sun is shining." He mewed distantly. Everytime Niche left Sakura, he felt this odd feeling that she was with that clanner. He hated the feeling, just hated it.

"Where are you going?" Sakura mewed, curious. She stood up stiffly as well. Her muscles were stiff but she managed to stand. She stretched once, and gave Niche a curious look.

[Meerful]

Niche shrugged. "Anywhere I guess. I don't want to be a burden. Sometiems I spend too much time with someone, and probably like them more than I should, and I don't want to end up feeling hurt." He mewed nonchalantly.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"You're not burden" Sakura mewed. She laid back down stiffly. Her legs hurt(Like mine) and she started to lick them dry.

"How would you get hurt by being with me?" Sakura asked. One word came to her mind. Ashfur. She had told Niche about him once. Did he think... Sakura shook her head to clear her thoughts.

//Okay, now I'm angry. The person who rps Feathertail, Brindlefur, Gorsewind, Sorrowheart, and morninglilly, keeps getitng all the good cats who could be mates. Seriously! Like Badgerpaw, Sakura, Flightpaw, Emberheart, Skull, I mean come on, all that's left are the new people! This person should STOP MAKING CHARACTERS AND ACCOUNTS.//

Niche laughed hollowly. "Oh, you'd wodner wouldn't you?" He said with a sharp tone, more saying it to himself. He stretchd again, and felt the urge to run away, and never see Sakura before she hurt him beyond all reason. It had been proven by his mom that a broken heart hurt worse than any other unimaginable physical pain.

Sakura felt a stab of anger. Wasn't Niche her friend? She growled softly.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked, with a tone of anger in her voice.

[Meerful]

//Well, apparently that rule was overlooked.//

Niche turned to Sakura, grief in his eye. "Do you ever wodner why I enjoy spending time with you? Do you think about why I left Bone, the one cat I was ever close to other than my family? Have you thought about why I'm not searching for my sisters? If not, think now." He growled back, not angry, his voice just not returning to normal level.
