Pebbles

Crimsonpaw sat staring at the pebbles, her mind was somewhere else. She closed her eyes and opened them seeming to be back where she really was. Crimsonpaw got up and started moving the pebbles, counting them. "1...2...3..........FISH!!!!" yowled Crimsonpaw as she bounded away from the pebbles. "Fish" she yowled again, as Crimsonpaw leaped up to catch the fish that had just jumped.

Rainstorm had been trotting along when she heard someone yowl fish. Curiosity brought her to investigating. Was that Crimsonpaw trying to get the fish?

"Hi" Rainstorm mewed. Then laughing she added "Having fun?"

"Helloooo, Rainstorm" yowled Crimsonpaw as she splashed around in the water trying to jump on the fish, who were darting away as fast as you could say 'vole'.

Rainstorm couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"You're not gonna catch it like that" Rainstorm mewed "You need to be patient. And you're scaring it"

"Then ow do you catch it then?" she mewled in wonder. Crimson waded into the water, carefully stalking the fish. Gotcha she yowled with a brightly colored trout in between her teeth.

"Great job!" Rainstorm purred "But here's a tip. The fish are more swift then any cat. And when the water ripples when something moves it can alert the fish. The key is to try to remain absolutely still, and strike when they least expect it" Rainstorm walked into the water slowly. She stood stiff and still until a fish swam by. The fish stayed near her, and Rainstorm plunged her face into the water, bringing her face back up with a fish.

"Do you have a mentor?" Rainstorm mewed through the fish.

"No not yet, even though I'm 9 moons old" she mewed indignantly. She got up and waded futher into the water, reaching out a paw over the water waiting for the fish swimming near her. "Like this, ummphh" Crimsonpaw shot her paw into the water reaching out at the fish, catching it in her paws. At the same time falling into the water, nearly realsing her caught fish.

"Great" Rainstorm purred. She thought for a moment.

'I am only 12 moons old but maybe, just maybe, Dragonstar will let me mentor her'

"I could mentor you if its alright with Dragonstar. And you of course" Rainstorm mewed.

"Ooooh yes, that would be great" she mewed exictedly. Jumping at another fish Crimsonpaw smiled spalhing water everywhere.[

"Alright Rainstorm" she mewed, she twitched got over herseelf and nodded.

"Ok come on then" She mewed. Rainstorm walked out of the water and licked herself a few times before headed to River Clan camp.
