Mercury stalked a mouse and tried to ignore the shiver going up his back. There was something about this place that he found unsettlng. Maybe it was because Shadowclan had been conquered by the Night and than taken to Thunderclan as prisoners. It was empty now, except for an occasional rouge ad mabey a clan cat. Mercury shrugged the feeling off and lept pounced on his prey. He quickly started to eat, hoping to get out o this place as soon as possible, when he heard a splash of something steping in a puddle...

Ghostfire cursed to himself as he stepped through the bushes and into a shallow rain puddle, giving away his presence. He looked up and saw a smaller cat up ahead of him. Ghostfire decided to play it cool.
"Greetings stanger," Ghostfire made his voice dry and gritty, hopeing to strike some fear into the cat. "Are you a Clancat?"

"Clancat? Never," Mercury said, his silvereyes flashing. He glared at the stranger, his fur bristling making him appear larger. Today, Mercury was in an agressive state and anyone who came by would probably get caught up in a fight with him. "If I was I'd be carted of to Starclan knows where, and forced to put up with the rouges. No, being a rouge suits me better. What of you, stranger? Did you run before the fighting in your clan was finished?" Mercury narrowed his eys and unsheathed his claws, ready to fight.

Ghostfire dipped his head, "mean no fight friend, wondering of what became of the clans." Suddenly his head jerked up, he heard a thumping of paws. Mercury heard also, and sniffed the air, "she-cat, she smells of Twolegs, wonder if she is a kittypet?" Just then a lean figure burst out of the bushes, Mercury and Ghostfire saw a flash of black, white, and orange, and the chase began.

Another set of eyes was watching from the shelter of the thick marsh grass. Glittering tawny orbs followed the movement of the two cats, and blinked as a third dashed out.

The kittypet looked over her shoulder, fear-striken, she was wondering why these two strong looking cats were chasing her. Veering like she was crazy, she tried to shake them off, but the attempt was fruitless. Hearing a low hiss, she looked to her left, there was a brown tom with dark stripes on him running beside her. Fireice had no time to talk with the stranger, hoping that she could trust him. "You can't get away kittypet," she heard the rouge snarl from behind her, her commrad suddenly turned around, and attacked her pursuers, stopping in her tracks, she joined the battle. After the rouges ran away, Fireice turned to her rescuer, "many thanks, who are you?" The tom looked wary, but answered, "Baneclaw, what is a kittypet like you doing around here, don't you know it's dangerous," he replied bluntly.

Baneclaw blinked slowly, his heavy lids making him look half asleep. He moved slowly but smoothly out into the open, and when he spoke, his voice was deep and had a hint of a growl in it. "Mind yourself, cat," He said. "I'm no kittypet. And you're on Shadowclan territory."

OOC: Fireice, I have noticed that you have been power playing.Not just this time ,but allot of other times.Please stop it now. If you don't know what Power Playing is,let me tell you. It is when you play another person's cat like you were doing in your last posts.If I were you I would reread the rules, I am not the best of a teacher and you would understand Power Playing better if you did ;D . Fireice was shocked, "well thank you." She said to Baneclaw, "I desperatly need help, my home was destroyed and I need shelter, could you possibly take me to this Shadowclan place," she said sheepishly.

Baneclaw lifted one eyebrow as he looked at the cat. "Shadowclan doesn't often take in loners," He rumbled, twitching his tail. "But that's for our clan leader to decide, now isn't it." He glanced at the other cats, waiting for them to speak up.

"That would be rather hard." Mercury said sarcastically. He paced the length of the small clearing. "Consider their recent position in life has been greatly lowered to that of prisoners." He sat down on a rock and gave them an unpleasant look. "Those weak cats couldn't even stand up against a band of rouges. Now they pay the price for their soft ways in the rouge's custody." He jumped of and began to pace again. "You can join them there if you want. Just get caught by a rouge and they'll gladly take you. I'm sure they will take good care of you." Mercury gave the cats another unpleasant look before turning to a nearby tree and attempting to climb it.

Bane's lip lifted in the beginnings of a snarl. "Mind yourself, I'm no kit to be taken prisoner. I'm one of the few that escaped the capture. But perhaps its the fault of some warriors in Shadowclan that grew too complacent and allowed it to happen. What Shadowclan needs is warriors that are not soft."

"What do you mean?" Fireice asked politly, though she knew that she was pushing her lock by just talking to these cats. "What do you mean, "taken away", is there a war going on or something," she asked swiveling her head back and forth between the cats.

"I know you do not talk of me." Mercury hissed, turning away from the tree and than showing his own teeth at the cats in front of him. "For I do not belong to Shadowclan. I am one of the few remaining loners and am proud of my position, unlike some." As Firiecespoke, mercury turned on her. "Of course there is a war being waged. There's always a war being waged. If you do not learn that soon, you shall never find a place within the clan other than that of a gossiping old queen." Mercury hissed at them both and than turned back to his tree.

"Sorry, but of what became of my family, I don't know where to go." Feeling the cats sharp, intense gaze upon her, Fireice continued. "I have become of here is because my twoleg home was destroyed... along with my housefolk." Salty tears were stinging her eyes, not letting the wildcats see her sadness, she turned away.

"You better know how to fight." Mercury hissed, his eyes flashing with anger. "If you didn't you'd be no good to anyone. To soft to know how to hunt and to ignorant of the forest car's ways to know a loner from a rouge." Mercury wasn't usually this mean, but today was just one of those days. He stopped glaring at the cat for a moment, a thoughtful expression on his silver fave. "Than again, join. You'll fit right in with Shadowclan."

Spottedkit walks onto the marshy ground, sniffing the air for her mom "Mom?" She cries helplessly as sh falls into a puddle. Spottedkit climbs out of the puddle, her small body growing cold as she is not old enough to be out of the nursery yet.
