Fireice has returned

Fireice jumped over the log that was in her way. She flinched in pain when her cracked and bleeding feet hit the marshy ground. Fireice had grown blind over the moons that she was gone and could sense better in sense, scent, and hearing. She could smell that an infection had grown in her paws and was making her feel very numb with sickness. Pus had grown around her infections and blood caked her pelt and was dripping out of her mouth from a nasty cut on her gums. Fireice's eyes now were not the beautiful blue and green they used to be, but a sightless gray that made her true love not love her anymore. Fireice kept going on through her pain. She remembered not seeing her friends Eaglefeather, Innocentsoul, Dewdrop, Spiderleaf, and the few others that she had grown to. Gritting her teeth, she collapsed on the ground. She could sense the rushing of paws and could smell ShadowClan. Either I'm to die or come back...

Fragment was playing around the border lines of Shadowclan and Windclan.She was happy to wait for the Shadowclan leader to accepter her , or reject her.Fragment had been looking for her father earilier this morning but disided just to go out on her own.If she wanted to be a good warrior she would have to learn to clan first.

Fragment sniffed the air, memorys rushing back to her when she first had came to Shadowclan moons ago.Fragment suddenly sented a cat near the log were innocentsoul had showen her how to hunt.Fragment let out a loud hiss and walked over to the cat, she looked half dead to Fragment,"WHo are you- why are you in Shadowclan!!" she hissed

Crowpaw went crashing through a bush of bracken, her heart pounding like the fall of rain against the boulders and made them shimmer like forgotten gems. Her eyes were wide with joy and she didn't even seem to notice as she bowled over Fragment who was standing, unfortanitly, in the way of her paws. Crowpaw tumbled over the marshy ground, mud sucking at her ebony paws and bubbling in rage. But Crowpaw just barreled forward toward the warrior she had meet when she was a young kit, still learning about the world and how to act in situations. She remembered fondly how she had spat at the captured she-cat, only to apologize later.

Her purr rumbled like thunder clouds as she pressed up against Fireice, her small nose damp as she pressed it to Fireice's. " Do you remember me?" she exclaimed at the sight of her unseeing grey clouded eyes, that stunned Crowpaw like a unconscious mouse. Fireice's eyes had been lovely and green and blue before, but now they resembled storm clouds, leaking through the sky with grey. Crawpappy's midnight black pelt bristled in surprise. " Do you remember me Fireice?" she repeated, in a ghostly tone. " I have missed your presence since it left the camp"</sub>

Flailpaw followed Crowpaw, scenting someone unfamiliar.

"Fireice?" He mewed in confusion.

Fireice looked at Crowpaw wirth her unseeing gray eyes. "Crowpaw," she croaked. Her voice sounded like she had not used it in a long time, though she had talked to someone not long ago...but in a forgotten dream. She lifted her head, her muscles and wounds screamed in agony against her action. Fireice gritted her teeth and held back a snarl. "Crowpaw. I can't see. Please. Escort me...to...the...ShadowClan camp." She felt out of energy and was panting. Pain surged around her in her viens from the infection. Fireice felt like she was being torn from the inside out. The infection had almost spread to her heart. Fireice was slowly, and painfully dieing. She scented Fragment and Flailpaw. The scents were unusual to her and she could sense their fear and bewilderment at her prescence. "Crowpaw, it's so good to see you again," she purred hoarsly. "Can someone get me to the camp to see the medicine cat?"

Fragment, being her usual self intrying to help every one, knew that if she help this cat she would make a new friend with this stranger puls maby make frienbds with some Shadowclan cats."I am onit!!" she meowed loudly and ran over to Fireice.Fragment was 11 moons old and would be able to help the stranger backto camp.She quicklyrested her tail on Fireice's sholder to help guid her to camp."YOu know one of my mother's friend was blind.She didn't really care about being bling though..." she said trying to make small talk as Fragment nudged Fireice towerds camp.

Fireice got up and nodded at Fragment's comment. "Yes. Wasn't it Shard that you are talking about?" She winced in pain. "Crowpaw. Run and get the medicine cat. I don't know if Arrowpelt is still the ShadowClan medicine cat or not. But I still need to be tended to." Fireice lept over a log. She could smell its bogish smell and knew it was there before anyone could tell her to jump. "IIs Innocentsoul still around?" She asked hopefully. When Fireice first came to the forest, she put the burden of her love secret in Innocentsoul's paws. She trusted her never to tell of Fireice's forbidden love. But it doesn't matter know. She thought hatefully. No one can ever love a blind cat. A blind cat can never stay a warrior. Fireice flinched inwardly at the thought of never being a true warrior again even if Dogstar let her stay as one, she would never fight in the heat of a battle or go hunting for the clan in Leaf-bare. She hated being blind. It made her helpless. Nothing.

Framgent was a bit suprised that Fireice knew Shard, but it ok"Well, she isn't shard anymore.Her name is midnight now" she commented mainly to herself.Fragment nodded her head,"yea Innocentsoul is still around!! Why do you ask?"

Splinter and Willowbranch walked up to Fireice. Willowbranch had never seen the cat before but Splinter had. "Fireice did you know my sister Goldenpaw?" he asked.

Fragment felt joy fill her stomic, she was very glad to see her father.Though she was raised to loath Splinter she couldn't help but feal like she belonged around him,"Hello Splinter" she meowed happly she glanced back at Fireice and waited for her answer.

Fireice flinched at the thought of Goldenpaw. She sighed, "Yes. But can you not sneak up on me like that. I can't see. You have to come up to me slowly or it'll be a disaster." Fireice looked at Fragment. "Wow. Many things have obviously happened since I left. Shard--I mean Midnight, I knew a long time ago. I really wished I could know her better." She then remembered that Fragment had said that Innocentsoul was still around. "Fragment, I knew Innocentsoul ever since I came to the forest. She never doubted my kittypet roots and believed that I would make a strong warrior. I grew so close to her. I even told her about my forbidden love with Tanshadow of ThunderClan."

_{Crowpaw's fiery gaze dulled and she scuffled her paws in the peat moss. Where was the Shadowclan medicine cat? None of the medicine cats seemed to be around. Shadowclan's and Windclan's and Thunderclan's medicine cats seemed to have disappeared, but Windclan did have a medicine cat apprentice, and Riverclan still had a medicine cat. Windclan would be the closest, they had to go there. She hoped that Fireice, dulled by the loss of her sight, would be able to make it to there. " Fireice," she mewed gently, her voice soft and kind." The closest medicine cat is in Riverclan, but Windclan does have a medicine cat apprentice, I think he could help you." She gave a worried glance at Flailpaw, as if to ask, your coming are you? We need someone to protect us! Then with a quick bound, and a flash of pitch black fur, only disturbed by a pair of moon blue eyes, Crowpaw landed gracefully beside her friend. She leaned herself so fireice could feel her fur, then nodded to Fragment.}

Fireice nodded. "You don't have to worry about my navigation." She sniffed the air and pointed with her paw at the WindClan territory. "That's where we head." She started to run towards the area and smiled when she felt the wind in her fur. She then sensed Crowpaw's doubt in her sight. "Crowpaw, I've grown used to my sight. There is no need to worry about me. I'm only hurt when others think I'm now useless and a wailing kit. I'm now stronger from my agony. Not weaker."

<sub>Crowpaw's eyes widened as Fireice pointed out the direction of Windclan territory. Her black pelt smoothed itself down to a sleek wave and she nodded, her ocean eyes glimmering. " I'll go and find the Windclan Medicine cat now," she purred, trying to lighten the mood that hung like heavy fog in the air. With that, she waved her tail and burst of through the marsh, her tail streaming like a parade banner, as she used her roots of Windclan speed to get her there.

Splinter stared at Fireice. "You have been gone she always wanted to see you come back Fireice" meowed Splinter. "Unfortunatly she died a few months ago."

Flailpaw was a bit shocked, but he observed, and waited to see if he was needed. Flailpaw was always the sat backa and reserved type.

Fireice could feel tears well in her eyes. "Innocentsoul--she's dead?!"
