As the silver ShadowClan warrior approached the border catuiosly. First, he opened his mouth just a little but to taste the air, to see about if there was a WindClan patrol near. The last thing he wanted at that time was a fight. He had a first time apprentice with him. LIontooth glanced at his back, looking for his tom apprentice, Flailpaw. He was a very smart apprentice. He knew how to mark, scent very well, and easily. "Flailpaw, hurry up!" He called loudly, and awaited patiently for his apprentice to show up at the border, witch was a very dangerous thundderpath.
A loud booming noise made it's way to Liontooth's ears. He knew what it was, and immediatly, as a reflex, paniced and ducked in some near by brush. As he watched the bright red monster pass by, he knew that he was safe, and came out of hiding, and contuined waiting for Flailpaw to catch up to him at the WindClan border.

A dark gray tabby colored cat, medium sized, was padding towards his mentor. He was almost there when a gush of wind flew his way, as if something large had rushed by. A stench so foul hit Flailpaw's nose, and he shrunk back coughing and hacking.
His eyes watered, and his chest hurt as he struggled for untainted air. Quickly he closed his jaws, and breathed quickly so that it didn't seem to linger as long. Flailpaw's feet seemed to falter as he made his way to his mentor.
Making his way over to his mentor he continued coughing again. Flailpaw began to get very dizzy, and his chest heaved up and down as he was trying to breathe. "I'm- I'm here Liontooth" He mewed, getting there in time to see the end of a bright red thing whizz by.

Liontooth watched his apprentice cough. He couldn't hold back his grin. "I guess I should introduce you two." He said humoursly. "Montser," He said pointing to the fading red object, still flying own the thunderpath, "Meet Flailpaw. Flailpaw, meet Monster." That was supposedd to be a joke, becuase Monsters can't genarally talk..
The silver warrior turnd back to his apprentice. "You see, this is the WindClan border. It is very disgusting. The smell and all. The two legs ride in the giagantic mosters, and sometimes they leave some of there rubbish behind. You have to be VERY careful when crossing, and you always want someone with you. It is a very cruel and unwanted, cold and painful death for a cat to get hit by one of those. You, of course, won't cross it yet. You will leave the scentmarkers at the side of the thunderpath, and come straight back here. Understand?"
When Liontooth was cautious, he got really serious. And that was what he was doing at that moment. Being very serious. He would feel terrible for the rest of his life if Flailpaw died under his control, from a monster.

Flailpaw looked up to his mentor. Did he... Did he want him to cross it and scent the border? All by himself? Flailpaw's core shook slightly with fear. He definatly could not do that. It was just oen of those things. Then Flailpaw shook himself. you can do it, don't worry. Do it for Shiroken...
A small tear glistened in his eye as he thought of his sister, then straightened up. His sister would be proud of him if he grew up to be the best he could. That's all he wanted right? Still... The monwhatisit that Liontooth spoke of seemed very fearful. His eyes closed tightly, blinking away the tear.
"I- I understand." He mewed, covering up the fear in his vocie. With a fearful pawstep, he head towards the foul smelling thunderpath, his eyes watering because of the horrid smell.

Liontooth stayed close. He did not want his apprentice to get hurt, even if it meant he hadd to sacrafice himself. His father sacraficed himself, and Liontooth idolized him because of that. "Remember, just the side, just a little above the last of the peice of tall grass. Make sure no mosters see you!" He whispered in a loud voiced whisper.
He remembered what happened to one of the apprentices training with him...
The stars were shining high, as a little silver apprentice approached the border with three others. Two identicle brown apprentices, and than there was a burgandy red one. 'Hey'. Said the red apprentice, turning to the twins, in a daring tone, 'Flashpaw, Lionpaw, and Brownpaw.' He mewed in a low tone. 'Which you need, Flamepaw?' Brownpaw had spoke in a fast voice. Flamepaw chuckled, knowing what he said, for Flamepaw and the rest of the clique had gotten used to little Brownpaw speaking so fast. 'I dare you guys, to walk out while a monster is passing and lay on the side.' Lionpaw perked up immediatly, 'Are you a mousebrain! We could get killed!' He immediatly backed out of the dare, but Brownpaw, Flashpaw, and Flamepaw agreed that the one that stayed there the longest got the others' prey for that evening. Lionpaw would just stick around to watch in the tall grass. The rest happened so quick, that Lionpaw could barely keep it in order. The three lay there, and a dark navy colored moster came into a dead stop. A two leg stepped out. The apprentices didn't even notice, even after Lionpaw had tried to warn them, the three just stayed there. The two leg captured all three, and even after a long struggle, the twoleg kit forced them into the monster, and Lionpaw never saw his closest friends again. The last thing he saw was Flashpaw pressing his face against a clear thing and mouthing thee word 'bye'.
Liontooth shivered, a tear gathered in his eye, as he remembered the look of horrid in Flashpaw's eyes as he mouthed good bye to Liontooth, Lionpaw at the time being.

Flailpaw, even thoughh he felt his mentor's sadness crash over him in a wave, he set forward, desperatly wanting to make his mentor proud. He needed to do this. Carefully, he laid each paw down, getting ever closer to the darkness and foulness of the grayish asphalt. His body quivered slgihtly in fear when he felt a bit of wind. A monster passed him, his fur ruffling, and his eyes widened in fear.
As soon as the monster was beyond the hearing range, he started forward again. in three, one two... three! Flailpaw propelled his body forward, running like a maniac until he was on the other side of the Thudnerpath. A stench other than the thunderpath filled hiss nose. eww. Windclan he thought. He turned to Liontooth. "Okay, I got it." He mewed.

//Uhhh... I sort of meant on ShawdowClan's side the border... but that's okay too. lol// Lionotooth watched his apprentice approvingly. He thoughts wandered dreamily, his mind still stormed with the same questions. 'What hapened to Flashpaw, Flamepaw, and Brownpaw. Are they well fed still. Have they grown into fat kittypets? Did they ever escape. Do they remember Liontooth as he remembered them?' And than to his horror, Liontooth thought of the most dreaded question of all... the one he had always hated... Were they still alive...?' That question always put the silver ShadowClan warrior on the edge of his bad mood.

Flailpaw heard no acknowledge for him to come back, so he cautiously approached the Thunderpath. "Liontooth? Are you... Are you okay? Would you think it's safe to cross?" He mewed over the black asphalt of the blackish gray road. His paws trembled. What had happened to the gray warrior? Was he okay?

Lointooth shook his head, leaving his fantasy world before yelling loudly, "Get over here! It's safe." The silver warrior shouted a little louder than he really needed. His eyes hardened, a emotionless yellow, one that only came when he was really thinking. Finally he looked at his apprentice across the thunderpath! "Hurry!" He yowled very loudly.

Flailpaw tried to nod to his mentor, but he had already started running frantically across the gray darkness of the foul smelling Thunderpath. His paws scrabbled across, and he almost choked while running.
When he made it across, he started coughing really bad. The stench really got to him, and it kind of made him feel well, dizzy.

Liontooth tried to get out a laugh, but all he managed to do was choke as he attempted to lighten up his subject. 'Calm...' The oversized silver warrior thought quietly inside his own head, 'Make yourself clearer! Your own apprentice could of killed himself, or created a major anger issue with WindClan, and it is all your fault. Be calm, but explain. Be calm but explain. Be calm but explain.' The same words echoed in side his head, until he succesfully managed to come up with a lecture that he could calmly, without reveailing his anger, what he had jsut risked.
"Okay. Maybe I wasn't clear enough," Liontooth started in a calm and his own deep voice. The words still echoed louder each time in his head. "The scent is supposed to be marked on our side of the border. It is only to keep confused apprentices, and other mixed up and maybe even drunk warriors, to remind them that this is our terratiory. That is only why we mark it. Also, I've once heard of a blind warrior. She didn't have much of a scent either. Her paws weren't very strong, and she didn't notice she was crossing the thunderpath. Back than we didn't mark our side of the terratory over the thunderpath, so she didn't know what she was doing. If I had seen her for real, I'ld of thought that she had just taken a big whiff of catnip! Well, the cats were under a war back than, and so she had finally climbed a tree, and stayed there. She died in ShadowClan terra, because one of our own cats had thought, the elderly warrior was just a mangy loner, or rogue, or something..." Liontooth had heard this story from his own mentor. He was sure if it was nessarily true, but he never tried to use his common sense on the dumb story. It didn't matter if it was or wasn't true, it had taught Liontooth to mark the border, and never forget to.

Flailpaw turned his head in confusion. "Um okay. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I can tell you're md at me. If you want, I'll just go and cover it." Flailpaw barely mewed. What had he done wrong? Didn't he say to cross the Thunderpath? Flailpaw shook his head in confusion. He wanted to die.

"I meant you stay off the thunderpath. You must scent the border on our side. Do you understand. I am not mad at you, I am just trying to ecplain to you that it you go over and cross the thunderpath, you are on WindClan's side, and you could get in big trouble." Finally able to let out a crackly and scratchy chuckle, "In other words, you would of been cat chow." He smiled. His white teeth reflected off the sun.

Flailpaw hadn't really listened, and he wasn't really speaking either. "Whatever you say" He mewed in a monotone. Flailpaw took no notice to anything than the dull uncolorful ground beneath his paws.

Liontooth sighed. 'Oh drat, now my own apprentice hates me on the first day! THis always happens. Why do I always think of my old friends? They are gone! Do you understand Liontooth. G-O-N-E! GONE!' He thought and than after sighing the warrior's eyes hardened, into unemtional green eyes. "Oh, Flailpaw, you don't understand." He tried to get his voice to sound surrowful, but it just sounded hollow as he contuined to explain. His eyes set out on the setting sun, and he sighed. "It's time to turn in. You know what, today, I think, I think we are both parched, and famished! Follow me, and we can start training tomorrow." The silver warrior ran torwards the ShadowClan camp without looking back. Flailpaw followed the warrior. i don't understand. That's what they all say. "I don't understand?" He mewed to himself in slight anger. "My mom told me that before she left me and Shiroken" Flailpaw felt like lying on the ground and whimpering. He just knew now tat his mentor had said those fateful words, Liontooth would not be happy with him, ever.
