Liontooth approached the ThunderClan border cautiously. He had finally gotten a apprentice, and was waiting for him to show up aat the border where he told, Flailpaw to meet him. 'Oh no. Will I have a disobeying apprentice!' He thought worridly, 'He's not here yet, so maybe he's a lazy apprentice.' Liontooth knew it was terrible of him to be making assumtions of his apprentice, when he'ld barely said five words to him, but that was hard not to do!
The silver warrior looked around, taking in all that surrounded, and waited unpatiently for his first apprentice, to show up for their first training session.

A dark tabby tom quickly made his way through the mrashy territory, the ground gradually getting firmer and more solid as he crept by. Unfortunatly, he had been delayed by Crowpaw, but that wasn't his problem anymore, he was on his way, and planned to be there. wow, he probably hates me now, he probably hated me before, so I guess I'm not losing much Flailpaw sighed, finally reaching the border and keepign an eye out for his mentor.

Liontooth looked releived as his appretice made his way threw the undergrowth. 'Should I be strict with Flailpaw, or should I let him off the hook for it was his first day?' He debated with himselve inside his head before speaking clearly with his deep voice to Flailpaw, "Do you know where we are?" He asked, padding over to the littler cat. His blue eyes searched the apprentice for any spark zapping through his body, happy to know the answer. They were at ThunderClan's border.

Flailpaw scented the air, testing and tasting. He searched his mind. Flailpaw cleared his throat before answering. "So um, we are at the Thunderclan border... Right?" Flailpaw didn't fel to confident on his answer, but it only seemed right. There were no moorlands, there was no flowing river, and the only reasonable place left was Thunderclan.

Liontooth nodded, his small and fluffy mane bounced as he nodded. "Correct. Next time, be a bit more cofindent in your answer." He mewed, critizingly. He didn't like when people answered unconfidently, so he simply corrected Flailpaw quickly. "Can you tell me where the dividing line is?" He asked. He liked his apprentice so far. Liontooth looked over to where the border was out of the corner of his blue eyes and thanimmediatly back into Flailpaw's orbs. His gaze was soft, and nothing was wrong so far with his answer, of course, he only answered one question...

Flailpaw pulled his ears back in shame. How could he be so stupid all the time? His fur beganto prickle in uncomfort. Then he perked back up, ready to challenge his knowledge to see where the border was. Flailpaw got a sly look in his eye and look up at Liontooth. "Well, assumingly, I would say its over there" He mewed, flicking his tail where Liontooth's eyes had averted. "But then again, you did clue me in by looking at it." Flailpaw answered.

'Stupid!' He called himself in his head before he started slimming the answer down a bit more. "Could you tell me where, exactly?" He asked, stongly. His silver fur brushed softly to the south. 'I like his tone a lot better!'. Liontooth let his blue eyes scan over to the right.

Flailpaw walked over to a tree, where the strong scent of the other clan wafted towards him. "Well, here." He pointed out, not in any type of tone, just one saying, 'I know it's right, don't judge me' Flailpaw curled his tail aroudn his paws elegantly.

Nodding enthusiatically, the bigger silver maine coon mewed in a deep voice, "That is correct. Now. Can you scent of any ThunderClan cats near here, or have been across the border?" After he spoke, clearly, Liontooth padded closer, beside his apprentice, Flailpaw, and sniffed it for himself. Mud oozed through his paws, covering his silver paws and making them a dark brown. He wanted to make sure the apprentice was correct.

Flailpaw looked to the warrior. He didn't know how to answer this question. Which scents were fresh? He could certainly smell them, but he couldn't tell. "I- I don't think so" Flailpaw said. The uncertainty in his voice was clear, but atleast he had answered. Then he decided to ask. "How can you know which are fresh and which aren't?"

Liontooth thought boldly, 'Finally, a question!' The silver maine coon looked at his apprentice and smiled. "Ok, here's what you do." he began loudly. "Do you notice how some scents are stonger than others?" He mewed. His voice was loud and he still had a deep voice. His thin tail flicked back and forth, as he waited for his answer. None of the scents were even very strong, but he needed to know that his apprentice, Flailpaw, could tell small things appart like that.

//I've got to go//
Flailpaw nodded eagerly, wantign to know. "Well, I knid of noticed that, but I coldn't tell whether or not that was just other scents interacting with the ones I was looking for" He meowed. His gruff voice wasn't as loud as Liontooth's, but Flailpaw wasn't as big as him either.

The tom shook his head enthusatically. Lionttoth had gotten a smart appretnice, and he was happy about that. "No, no. You see, scents can cover other scents very easily, but they do interact with eichother. They most they do is cover eachother up. The stronger ones are fresher, and the stale scents are old ones. They do not all the way disappear, but they may seem like they do." Liontooth explained clearly, and hoped the apprentice understood him.

Flailpaw nodded. Simple words, simple to understand, simplicity to him. "Okay, I think I got it now. So I'm going to say that no, these scents are pretty old sense the smell of pine is stronger than the smell of cats" He mewed heartily. His mentor was kidn and easy to learn with.

Liontooth smiled at his apprentice. "THat is also correct. You are very wise." the silver warrior nodded as he complimented his apprentice. He cleared his throat, and started his next question. "Can you tell me if our scents need replaced, or are they strong still?" He patiently waited for an answer. The apprentice was smart. He was very advanced, for his new age. That meant less explaining for Liontooth, but he didn't mind that, for that made his job as a mentor a lot easier. He hated apprentices that didn't listen, although he had never had one, he didn't want to have one. Flailpaw was his first apprentice, and he was going to make a fine warrior one day.

Flailpaw scented the air. "I um... " They seemed alright to him, but still. When was it not enough? When was it regularly enough? "Wait. I think they are okay, but it wouldn't hurt to refresh them" He mewed, stil slightly lost inh is thoughts.

The silver maine coon nodded. "You must know... it never hurts to refresh your border line." He spoke in his deep voice. His eyes twinkled, as he spoke. The training day was half way over, after he made sure Flailpaw knew how to mark the borders. They would than travel WindClan's border, witch was a thunderpath, and was clearly more dangerous. "Now, do you know how to mark the borders, Flailpaw?" He motioned for him to mark them if he knew how.

Flailpaw nodded, enlightened by the praise his mentor gave him. In a flash, he marked a tree along the border. His chest puffed out slightly, pride filled his mind, and Flailpaw felt like he was walkign on winged paws. He had a great mentor. It struck Flailpaw instantly. I couldn't possibly have had a better mentor, even if I had Dogstar. Liontooth is so nice and understanding, even if I odn't know all the answers. Flailpaw shook ihmself to clear his thoughts. "What now?" He asked, eager to get going.

//how nice of you! Just to let ya know Bold=Talk...Underine=Thinking...Swicthing it around!// Lionttooth nodded enthusiatically. "Correct. Now, that you have mastered this border, with your excellent knowledge, we are going to move on to the next border. I'm really proud of you though. Just know that... now follow me."
The silver looked at his apprentice, gave small and short toothy grin, and started moving to the WindClan border. //I start a new thread... in the same board. It'll be Training Flailpaw II//
