Crowpaw skittered nervously over the thin stalked grasses that swayed in the slightest of breeze. She felt uneasy out here, no juts or hollows to hide under, hardly no reeds or rocks to leap behind to escape the vision of hostile warriors. She could hardly believe that this was her true clan, the clan she had been born in, with the naturally long muscular type legs for dashing over long stretches of land without breaking even a drop of sweat. But she was with Shadowclan down, used to wet under foot and spongy peet moss soaked with mouthfuls of bog water. It seemed strange to walk over chalky, rocky land and feel loose dirt under foot.
A shiver broke out from deep in her heart as a wind broke loosely through the windswept moors as she remembered her job. She had to find someone, the medicine cat apprentice, to help Fireice. She had to get the Windclan apprentice to her friend. But what was his name? Was it Badgepaw? Must be some kind of WC thing. She decided, then, quickly, she broke into a nervous trot, gathering her feet under herself then letting loose like litter in the wind.
