The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows and giving off a warm glow. It was the time of day right before twilight, the time when the sun's rays still touched everything in sight, but was gradually fading from the sky. The sky seemed to turn golden, and the sun was a beautiful shade of orange. Despite the dying sunlight, there was warmth to everything. This was the time of day that Wingstar loved most, which was why she had chosen then to take a long walk.
She trotted through the tall grass, trampling the younger blades as she did. Despite the length of the grass, her ears and tail just stuck up over the top. The wind was blowing gently, causing the grass to bend, revealing her face. It a normal face for a cat, and bore no scars save for one thin one right underneath her left eye. The wind died down, and her face was hidden behind the grass once more. The distant sound of cicadas could be heard, and Wingstar pricked her ears to listen. Some cats found the cicadas to be annoying, but Wingstar had found the sound comforting. Soon though, the cicadas would gradually be replaced by crickets filling the night with song.
Wingstar was padding in the direction of the gorge, the place where the River had dug a deep trench. A fall into such a thing would be most likely fatal. Wingstar had no real reason to be going there, but walked on anyway. The grass became shorter as she neared the gorge, and she could plainly view the surrounding area. She spotted a rabbit warren in the distance, and being downwind from it, the rabbits had scented her and dashed into their holes. If she were hunting, then that could've cost her a lot of prey.
"I'm going hunting, do you want anything?"
"How about a thrush?"
The words echoed from the back of her mind as she recalled a distant memory of she and Amberwind as young kits. Amberwind was just Amberkit then, and she had been Wingpaw. She was apprenticed a few moons before Amberwind because of her size, but she was near the same age as Amberwind.
Wingstar had reached the gorge now, and was sitting not too far from the edge. The river swirled far below her, and the sunlight was gradually receding from the gorge. Wingstar laid down on a slab of rock overlooking the river. She laid her head down on her paws and tried to remember long ago. It seemed she had been reminiscing like this a lot since Silverstar died. It was like a chapter of her life had ended, but she refused to read on, simply remembering the old days.

[glow=brown,2,300]"Don't worry dear sister, I'll find my place" Her brother spoke quietly outside the entrance to the camp. Windclaw blinked sadly and gazed forward at him, "You promised mother you'd stay here and take care of me!" Tears welled up in the young she-cats eyes. "I know, but she's passed, and so has our father, and everyone else in this family. It's time that I moved on into my own life". Turning about the jet black tom stalked away. "Were pure Windclan Ravenstrike, why do you wish to ruin that?" She recived no answer, and she collapsed onto the ground, tears flowing down her soft cheeks.
Blue eyes blinking open she sat up in her nest, she looked around the den, then to the ground. She missed her brother, and now she couldn't get the dream out of her head, she had been dreaming that dream for several nights now. Sitting up she sighed and stood to shake the dust and any bedding that stuck to her pelt. Sitting back down she licked her paw and dragged it carefully over her ears. Shaking her head she stood and steped lightly out into the clearing, the sun was setting, but everything was still warm. Looking around camp she turned to the entrance, dream still fresh in her mind.
Exiting the camp she turned her head to the left, and gazed at the spot she last saw her brother. Tearing her eyes away and pushing the memories aside she took in a shallow breath before continuing on her trek onto the plains. Her blue eyes followed a rabbit as it ducked into it's hole, ready to rest for the next day. Her ears strained to ear anyone or anything walking nearby, but htere was nothing. She had slowly become a loner in the clan, perhaps her brother was right? Her family had been in Windclan so long they forgot about other lives in the other clans, but her mother talked frequently about the other clans, so that couldn't be the reason. As she began to fade away, lost in her own thoughts she was pulled back to reality when the sound of the falling water of the gorge echoed. Blinking and looking to the darkening sky she stoped, not entirly liking the gorge, but not hating it either.
Parting her jaws she took a deep breath then looked forward again, Wingstar? Pacing forward she approached the leader from the right, but not to close as she didn't want to spook her and have her fall into the gorge. "Hello Wingstar" she said dipping her head as she stoped a fox length or so from the leader.

((No problem! I was really hoping that someone would reply ^^))
Wingstar lifted her head to look at Windclaw, her tail twitch back and forth, upsetting a few small stones and tossing them into the gorge. "Good evening Windclaw, out hunting?" she meowed matter-of-factly. She turned her head to look across the gorge. "There isn't too much to catch out here unless you want to try your paw at catching flying fish."

((^-^ Alright)) [glow=brown,2,300]The tan she-cat gave a half smile, "No Wingstar, just out for a walk before moohigh". Turning her gaze to the gorge she sighed, it was cooler here, a place to escape from the hot days of the moorland. The spreay from the water falling sweeped into the air, cooling the stones and living things surrounding it. Steping forward closer to the edge she gazed over, crouching so that she could keep her balance and not fall into the deep trench. "hmmm, I don't want to take the plunge for a slippery fish" she said giving a small smile and purr. Sweeping her tail closer to her body she finally layed down and turned her blue gaze to her leader. "How's your day been?"[/glow]

((I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a while! School hit me like a ton of freaking bricks )) Wingstar's tail flicked back and forth again. She gazed across the gorge, to the territory on the other side. "Alright." She meowed nonchalantly. She looked back down at the river. She watched the waters move by, twisting and turning through the stone canyon. "Though a little....nastolgic."

((It's alright, I know what you mean, I have two math classes along with Biology and Spanish)) [glow=brown,2,300]The tan she-cat nodded, today haden't been that good for her, Ravenstrike kept coming back to mind. Sighing she spoke, "But that's life right? So long as we aren't attacked by a fox, badger, rogue, or another clan I think it's been a good day". Shifting her blue eyes to her leaders she spoke again, "I just wish life was easier, but everything needs to fight for something right?" Turing her gaze back to the gorge she closed her eyes for a few moments, Everyone needs to fight for something right? Should I have fought harder to keep my brother in this clan? Or was that the path Starclan had layed out for him? [/size][/glow]

Wingstar's tail twitched quickly, back and forth. "I suppose so." she meowed. The sun was sinking below the horizon, casting a dull light on everything. Crickets replaced the cicadas of the forest.
Wingstar looked up from the gorge. "Life is not an easy thing." she agreed. "And change makes it all the harder." Her tail twitched again. "Days may seem to fly by, unchanging, almost never ending, but eventually it all changes." Her tail began to move in almost a beat, twitching with every new thought. "But change is necessary, and whether you want it to happen or not, it will happen."

[glow=brown,2,300]Windclaw sighed, the memories of her past flooding over her like the water in the gorge. She angled her head towards the sky, just as the sun began to slip away. "Change is necessary, but not everyone has to like it". She turned her gaze to the new leader, change could be hard on a cat, like losing a friend in a battle, or losing your family because they didn't care. "But sometimes you need help, and that's what a clans for right? Survival, support, if they all like you it's almost like having a large family ready to fight for you when there is trouble". //mind if I join?//
A small tuxedo cat loped over the wide, sloping hills of the plains, ears perched forward on his head, high and beside his bright blue eyes, which were dark as the depth of a pool in midnight. His long tail trailed in the dust, and his narrow shoulder lay as smooth and barren of the ground he walked on. Still a kit.....he was old enough to even be a warrior now! At fourteen moons, the nursery queens had driven him out of the den, their glinting eyes and bristled fur apposing to a cat of such small size such as himself. The praire grass tickled his belly, causing a small sneeze to explode from him. He swiped his paw across his small black muzzle, then he noticed two cats padding along in the distance. In an instance he recognised Wingstar's sleek patched figure, and he could feel fury pulse through him. Spreading his long legs, he dashed forward, angry thoughts running through his mind. Why would his leader be out for a walk when many apprentices needed to be made? As Ravenkit approached the two she-cats, he let out a timid mew. wondering is he should say more. " Hello, Wingstar," He mewed. " I was just wondering when I could be an apprentice? I say you out here, a-and I-I thought that I should a-ask." He dipped his head, scuffling his paws in the dust.

(Sure, no problem!)
Wingstar's tail twitched as the jet-black kit suddenly arrived. She had thought for a moment that night was coming on so suddenly that it had taken physicle form. "Your apprenticeship?" she meowed. Wingstar stared at her paws. The apprentices! Why had she not thought of them? What had she been doing these past moons?
Wingstar shook her head angrily. She had been so absorbed in thoughts of the past that she had completely ignored the future. She had said it herself hadn't she? Change is necessary, so then why had she ignored that fact?
Her tail twitching, Wingstar looked back at Ravenkit. "Yes, you're right." she meowed. "When we get back to the camp, I'll hold an apprentice ceremony."

[size=1Ravenkit's small black tail shot straight up into the air like a flag raising up a pole. His eyes glowed warmly with excitement. " Really? A apprentice ceremony!?" He mewed in astonishment. Witha yowl of glee, he burst upward through the air, hurtling down on his paws to race in circles around the leader, his raven tainted fur rustling in the wind. He finally screeched to a stop in front of his leader, amber eyes stretched wide. " Thankyou Wingstar!"

Wingstar flicked her tail back one last time. "It's getting late, and if we want to have the ceremony tonight then we'll have to go now." She meowed, turning from the gorge and headed in the direction of the camp. The sun had set now, and silverpelt shown brightly over their heads.
Wingstar turned to Windclaw. "Windclaw, do you want to accompany us back?" she meowed.
OOC: Sorry, short post. >.<

((sorry I haven't been on, Speech and Drama)) [glow=brown,2,300]
The tan pelt of the she-cat rustled slightly as she pushed herself to her feet and gazed at the warrior aged kit. Her icy eyes shifted from the kit to Wingstar, she silently waited. Turning her head to the sky she gazed at the black sky decorated by silverpelt, she sighed. Apparently the conversation had come to an end because she heard an excited meow from Ravenkit. She smiled, she remembered her apprenticeship. Her gaze dropped down to the kit, then to Wingstar as they turned towards camp. She pulled her tail closer to her as Wingstar addressed her. "Why not?" she purred looking to Ravenkit. She moved forward, her eyes looking to Ravenkits, was he the only kit being apprenticed tonight? [/glow][/size]

Windflight stepped up to the other cat hesitantly. "Hello, how are you?" She mewed, eyeing the cat warily.
