Sakura's Kitting!

Sakura felt safety in the badger set as the storm raged on outside. She felt a lot safer. But those sharp pains just kept coming, it was scaring her.

Just then another pain, much more great and painful went through her. Sakura yowled and laid down on her side. Her breath came out in quick pants as another streak of pain shot through her, causing her to cry out again.

Niche had just arrived inside the badger set, lightning occasionally flashing outside. In his jaws, he held a large marmot, his favorite prey. He had heard Sakura's yowling from outsides, and rushed in, dropping the prey on the ground. Niche settled beside her, licking her comfortingly.

"What;s worng?"

"I... I dont know" Sakura managed to mew weakly "My stomach-" She was cut off by another strike of pain. What was happening? Then she realized it. She must be giving birth... Before she could say anything another strike of pain shot through her, making her cry out again.

Niche searched frantically aroudn the area. There were a few herbs scattered around outside. He leaped out of the den and tore the first one from the ground; Clover. It wasn't great, but it was enough to help her.

Niche crashed back down under, and chewed the leaves, and giving them to her.
"Eat them, it'll be okay" He said soothingly, surprised at how calm he sounded.

Sakura nodded and took a bite of the clover. Pain continued shooting through her body like lightning. Sakura ate the clover until it was all gone, and the pain seemed to soften.

"Niche" She managed to choke "I think I'm giving birth..." Another shot of pain burst through her.

Niche's eyes widened, and he jumped back, startled. His fur puffed out to full plumage, and his eyes, though one was just a socket of blood vessels, were as wide as buttercup buds.

"birth?" He exclaimed.

A black and white apprintice had been gathering herbs, when the strom hit.He knew that he wouldn't be able to get back to camp so he was looking for shelter.Suddenly a loud cry ecoed threw the forest, The black and white apprintice quickly followed the sound and came across an old bagder den.
The black and white apprintice slowly walked into the badger den, his amber eyes shinning like the sun.

Sakura nodded. She was just as shocked, but what else could it be? Another burst of pain shot through her, making her nearly yowl. This hurt so much...

Niche felt hot with embaressment, and anger surged through him. If his kits, what he hoped were his kits, were causing his mate so much pain, then they would have to pay, or at least be really really cute! His ears perked, though he heard nothing, and saw Badgerpaw, one of his mom's friends.

"Badgerpaw?" He asked, shocked. Then he looked at Sakura, and back at Badgerpaw.
"Help us!"

Sakura looked over, and recognized Badgerpaw as well. She'd met him once, and got attacked by a RiverClan apprentice as well. But that didn't matter right now. She looked at Badgerpaw with pleading eyes.

Niche quickly turned back to his mate, wondering why he hadn't noticed, and hoped none of them had been harmed while they were cliff diving. His heart pounded in his chest, and the ever numbing beats drummed in his ears and pounded in his head. Everytime he spoke, the words echoed throughout him, giving him a massive head ache. Niche frantically retrieved the marmot and placed it carefully besides her.

"Eat this, you'll need your strength" Niche mewed calmly, giving her a brisk lick before running back outside. The clouds were angrier now, swirling viciously, thundering their madness, as if they were furious the two cats had found shelter. He shuddered, but ran off to a tree, and using the verytips of his teeth, delicatly plucked out some water soaked moss. It only took a split second for him to return to the badger set, and he too, placed this beside Sakure. Niche stared at her with loving eyes. "I love you, and don't worry, you'll be right." He whispered to her.

"I love you too" Sakura whispered. She winced in pain again. The first kit was coming...

Niche wanted desperatly to look away from the scene, but curiosity made his eye lock onto place. The first kit was brown with darker markings, it was huge! Niche wamred to it, feeling proud and, well, fatherly. He began to lick it, waiting for it's first meow.

"It's a boy... Kodiak" He mewed to it.

Badgerpaw nodded slowly at the kits,"It is a bit to late for herbs- But I will do what I can" he meowed calmly as nodded towerds the family.Badgerpaw flicked his tail,"Niche, try licking Sakura's belly, It will help alittle bit" he said loudly.Badgerpaw had really never liked seeing kits being born.It grossed him out, though he knew it was the way of life.

Sakura nodded to Badgerpaw, her way of saying thanks. She purred and licked Kodiak gently. Then she gave Niche a quick lick on the ear, before the second kit started to come.

Badgerpaw'a amber eyes perised threw the darkness like the sun threw the sky.The rool and clashes of thunder and the streaking of lightning made Badgerpaw almost jump out of his skin,"Sakura, breath in slowly" he said in a soothing voice.BAdgerpaw had felt weak when he could do nothing for a cat, so he usually keep himself at work talking or making a bridge of pebbles.


Badgerpaw glanced outside the Badger den, the storm was growing and even BADgerpaw was starting to worry now."Just...keep breathing" he said a bit quiter this time.

Sakura did as Badgerpaw said. A few moments later, another tom kit was born. He looked almost exactly like Niche, except he wasn't missing a leg.

"Pulse" She whispered licking Pulse gently.

[Meerful]

Niche's eye glowed with happiness. This was his moment. He was becoming a father, and not anyone else but him. He trew a thankful glance at Badgerpaw, before licking the other kit.

"They're beautiful" He whispered to her, amazed at the fact that he had two kits.
[Yeah. Who should we give Pulse to? Shard or Gorsewind? I mean, Shard has one of Meer's kits, and she never rps her, but sometimes Gorse is never on, but Shard doesn't get on much either...]

((I dont know... Maybe we could have a contest between them. Whoever does the best roleplay example gets Pulse, and if the winner becomes inactive we give Pulse to the other one.))

Sakura purred. Two kits so far, and still another coming. The next kit looked like a dog she once saw. Some kind of husky. She couldn't think of a name though...

Niche saw the nest kit, and his heart nearly stopped. It looked like a dog!

"Granite" He mewed at once, pushing the kits he was licking over to Sakura to nurse, and then he started licking the one that had just come. It was a boy, he was grey and white, and his body was absolutly chunky. Sakura must have been eating more than Niche knew. [lol]

Sakura purred and licked Granite. The next kit looked a lot like her. She had a tortoiseshell pelt, but was missing a leg.

"Ariona" She mewed licking her. The last kit started to come.

[Meerful]

Niche looked at their four kits amazed. Each of them were so beautiful and unique. He felt his hearlt melt for them, and he dared anyone to defy either of his kits. Turning his gaze to Sakura, it was filled with everything he felt for her, and their kits. It was something he could not put into words.

"What will we name the last one?" He asked her, his voice low and melodic.

Sakura wasn't sure. The last kit was a she-kit with different shades of ginger and amber. It was a beautiful sight.

"I dont know" She mewed looking at each of them with love in her eyes. Five kits. She felt so happy. She gave Niche a loving look.

"What do you think?" She asked. The furious storm raged outside. The wind howled, thunder crashed anf lightning flashed. She brought her kits close to her, as if protecting them from the terrifying storm outside.

Niche merely shrugged. The last kit was definitly a girl, but you couldn't just pick out a name to describe her. She looked like the amber coals at the bottom of a fire, the rising blazes of fire, and even that first little spark of fire you'll see. Her fur was amazing, her eyes were stil closed, her nose looked broken, but she was delicatly shaped too. A wedge sized head, a slender body, beautiful, absolutly gorgeous pelt. How could one just think of a name?

"What about... Fl... Fl-something." Niche had the word on his tongue, but like usual, he forgot at the wrong moment.

Fl... Flame? Flower? Flare? Flare!

"What about Flare?" Sakura mewed, eyeing the pelt of the kit again. It reminded her of a flare in the sunlight.

[Meerful]

Niche's eye brightened, and he thought about jumping up, but then he thought smarter. [lol]

"That's perfect!" He mewed, nuzzling Flare and Granite towards their mother. It seemed so wonderful... The storm outside raged on above them, crashing and screaming, but it was hardly noticed by Niche.

Sakura licked each kit in turn. This was one of the happiest moments of her life. Five kits. She licked Niche on the ear and mewed "I love you"

Ariona heard all the noises around her. They scared her yet brought interest to her at the same time. She felt warm by her mother and siblings. At the crack of thunder the young newborn let out a silent squeal.

Niche pressed him muzzle against Sakura's flank. He breathed in her scent, mingled with the bitter odor of blood, and whispered back, "I love you too." His purr caught in his chest everytime he looked at his kits. No matter how many kits they had, he could never be more proud.

Kodiak was nursing hungrily, clawing at his mother's stomach. Lightning flashed and thunder roared, but he didn't care. As long as he was happy was all that mattered. He hesitated his suckling, and turned to Ariona. He couldn't see her yet, his eyes were closed, but he gave her a nudge, hoping to push her over. Then he resumed.

Granite was lying beside his mother, perfectly content. He was curled in an elegant little ball, facing his surroundings. He was snug, warm, and full of delicious milk. Quietly, he let out a little meow to his brothers and sister.

Ariona let out another silent squeal as Kodiak pushed her. She lifted her tiny paw and batted him on the head.

Sakura purred contently. She laid her head on her paws, letting the kits suckle.

Niche sat down next to Sakura, and laid down, closing his eye, but staying awake.

Granite's eyebrows knitted into a frown as his brother and sistar fought eachother. He didn't think there was a need for all the violence. He shook his head and rested it on his outstretched paws.

Kodiak growled in his throat, and jumped at his sister, attempting to pin her down until she cried for him to get off. No cat beat him!
