Sakura's Kitting!

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Ariona squealed again, this time it wasn't silent. She tried to bat her brother off her.

Sakura opened her eyes at Ari's squeal. She gently picked up Kodi and took him off his sister. She set him down next to Granite and Pulse, then set Ari on the other side of Pulse.

[Meerful]

Kodiak tried to hiss at his sister, but he was sure his dad was watching him, even though he was asleep.

Niche nodded to Sakura. They couldn't let their kits fight amongst themselves, or they might end up like him and his family.

Granite began to purr. Everything was fine again. Delicatly, he got up and laid down by his father, curling in a ball and tucking his nose under his tail, a husky like position.

A sand coloured she cat sauntered into a den. It looked warm, smelled of blood, and it seemed to already be occupied. Joy. Her feet stumbled in, and she flopped down, sudenly surrounded by cats she knew and liked.

"Oh. Well isn't this my change of luck?" She mewed humorly.

Ari purred as she was set down next to her brother, comforted again. Her sister, Flare, was next to her as well. If her eyes were opened she would've glared at Kodiak. Her ears pricked at the sound of a new voice, and her head swung around, wondering where the voice was coming from.

"Hello Meer" Sakura mewed "Meet your grandkits" She touched each kit gently with her tail.

[Meerful]

Meer's eye widened in suprise. Her head flciked towards the little kits, all so like her son, some even like... Like her? "Oh. Wow. I'm getting old." She mewed. Of course, she wasn't though, she was only two and a half years old. [No idea how many moons that is!]

[HER NAME IS FLARE! Where did you get Fury?]

Kodiak snarled under his breath. It seemed apparent that Granite was a huge suck up. Kodi was so angry he almost spat, but the new arrival made him curious.

Niche wanted to get up and welcome his mother, but it seemed one of his kits were so comfortably beside him, he didn't want to disturb it. Instead he waited for Meer to come over to him, and he gave her a lick on the ear. "It's great to see you" He mewed to her.

Ariona was comforted by the new voice. It didn't sound threatening. Contently she laid her head on her front paws, occasionally swishing her tail back and forth.

Sakura looked outside. The storm was still strong. It looked like they would be staying the night here.

[Meerful]

Meer stretched, and leaned down to give each kit a lick.
"I should probably go. It's kind of stuffed down here. Besides, this weather is my kind of weather" Meer's eye shined. She loved the rain. Loved it. The thought, however, of not attacking Badgerpaw for the fun of it was saddening. Meer would have loved to attack him just for fun, but there were kis, and who knew what time Meer's clumsiness might arrive.

Niche's heart sank. He would have loved to have his mother here with him, but he knew she was stubborn as tree bark. [Yay, my new saying!] He nodded to her, pressing his nose to her shoulder. He knew that she'd probably rather go out and find some helpless cat to kill then stay here anyways.

Granite let out a wide yawn, his oddly formed teeth showing. He flicked his ears, and went to sleep.

Kodiak walked up to Meer, mewing, opening his jaws wide to show his pink gums and large thick teeth. Where was she going?

Ari's ears pricked. Leaving? Why was this new cat leaving? What was going on. Another crack of thunder made the tiny kit squeak. That noise was so loud.

"You may stay if you like" Sakura mewed. That storm looked bad. It could get worse from the looks of it. She gently licked Ari after hearing her squeak. She kept a close eye on Kodi. She didn't want him to get too close to the exit of the den, the storm still making her nervous.

[Meerful]

Meer shook her head. "Nope. I've got things to do." She mewed in her gruff voice. She nudged the kit beside her with her back paw, balancing on her tow legs. "Go back to you mom, little one." She mewed to it. Then, graceful as ever, she cleared the hop out of the den, and disappeared into the night. The last glimpse of her was when the lightning sturck and her entire body was outlined; Then she was gone.

Niche watched his mother leave, then rested his head between his paws. He was tired now. The near drowning experience, the kits, his mom, what else would happen? Niche sighed in contentment before letting himself be greeted with sleep.

Kodiak stayed glued to the spot, heart broken. The new cat had left him! Why had it done that? Kodiak felt crestfallen, and he dragged his paws as he walked closer towards the exit. Maybe he could find her...

"Kodi, stay in here" Sakura mewed. She wanted to go bring him back over here, but the other kits were asleep and she didn't want to disturb them.

Ari looked over toward Kodi. What was he doing now? She started to stand up, but another crack of thunder made her squeal and lay back down. She was not enjoying this storm at all.

[Meerful]

Kodiak completly ignored his mother. What did she know? He shakily put on paw out...

Niche opened his eye when he heard Sakura speak, and flattened his ears in annoyance. Why did their kits have to be adventure seekers? Then images of adder hunting, cliff diving, tree climbing, marmot hunting flashed through his mind. Niche gave a small crooked grin to Sakura, and went over to pick Kodiak up.

Granite felt his dad get up and leave the side of him that was pressed against Niche cold. Mewling, he went over to his mother and went back to sleep, circling twice before lying down.

Sakura cast Niche a grateful glance when he went to get Kodi. She looked down on their kits. She couldn't help but let out an amused purr at Kodi's adventurous behavior.

Ari looked outisde with curiousity. Why would Kodi want to go out there? That thunder was very scary...

Pulse woke up at the feeling of vibrations in the ground. Something felt wrong though. Why couldn't he hear what was going on? He saw mouths moving, but heard nothing. He shrugged. It was probably nothing. He laid his head back down on his front paws and went to sleep.

[Meerful]

Niche swooped down and grabbed Kodiak by the scruff, careful not to hurt the little kit. He ignored Kodi's flailing tiny claws and mewls of prostest. Then, he lightly placed him beside Ari. He walked back over beside Sakura, and rested his head on her shoulder, turning occasionally to lick her ear.

Kodiak flopped himself on the ground and sighed heavily. Now he'd never see the mysterious cat again! He stuck out his bottom lip and continued to sigh and roll around restlessly. Turning to his sister, he struck her on the shoulder with and unsheathed cpaw, well, attempted to.

Flare nuzzled her mother, suckling happily. While all the other cats were busy with their own things, she was busy getting fat and warm. Running out of energy, she fell asleep against her mother. [Have you ever seen kitten nursing and then just fall asleep? It's sooo cute!]

Ari squealed as Kodi struck her with an unsheathed claw. She growled and attempted to bat him on the head again when teeth met her scruff. Her mother lifted her up and set her on the other side of the large group of kits.

"We'd better keep them seperated for now" Sakura mewed "They dont look like they'll get along too well right now" Sakura gave Niche a lick on the ear. She hoped Kodi and Ari would get along eventually. But for now, best keep them seperated.

[Meerful]

Kodiak held his tail up proudly, and stalked around the den like a leader. He'd shown his dominance over Ari. [and now, all the cats, mwahuhaa!]

Niche nodded. "Indeed. Maybe it's a sibling thing. Me and Steps Soft used to pick on Cujo all the time. I think I should go see him sometime soon." He mewed, smiling at the thought.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"Cujo?" Sakura mewed. She'd never heard of a cat named Cujo. She'd met Steps Soft once. Sakura let out a purr of laughter as Kodi walked around the den, his tail held high.

Ari growled at her brother. She started to stand up, but was again frightened by thunder. And in the process of laying back down she stepped on Pulse's tail.

Pulse growled at Ari and nipped her shoulder. He just wanted to sleep! Casting her a warning glance he laid his head back down to fall asleep.

[Meerful]

Niche purred. Kodiak was a spirited kit. Then he looked at Ari. She concerned him. Ari seemed to get picked on alot by the other kits, and it made him worry about her. Niche turned back to Sakura. "Keep your eye on the little one" He mewed, gesturing towards Ariona.

Kodiak sat down proudly, and began to lick his paw, and then he heard Granite moce around in his sleep. This would be too easy. He stalked forward, wiggled himself before, and pounced. He landed right on his brother, and held him down. He'd only get off when Granite begged.

Granite's whole body jumped, and he felt an enormous weight on him. He pushed at it with his paws, biting and scratching with as much ferocity a kit could conjure up. Granite used his tiny hind legs and pushed Kodiak off a bit, givving Granite enough time to bite his toes.

Kodiak leaned heavier on him, but his fun was ruined when someone pick him up.

Sakura nodded. She was worried about Ari too. She was the runt of the litter, even though Flare was younger then her.

Ari felt confused. Why were her parents so worried about her? She was just as good as Kodi and Pulse and Granite and Flare. Deciding to prove it she lunged for Kodi.

Pulse growled. Was nobody tired in this den?

(Sh! Pulse wants to sleep. lol)

[Meerful]

Niche shook his head. Their kits were going to be jsut like them. "Looks like the forest will have new competition" He mewed, watching Ari attack.

Granite huffed, and stuck his nose in the air. Idiots He thought, going back to sleep beside Pulse.

Kodiak felt Ari whiz past him as he stepped to the side at her lunge. Then he counter attacked, trying to jump on her back. [Man is he mean. I like Kodiak alot! I should probably put Granite up for adoption though... *looks at lovely Granite longingly*]

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Pulse nodded to Granite. At least someone in here had enough sense to sleep. Thunder crashed, but he didn't hear it. He felt it. Why couldn't he hear?

Sakura purred. Their kits were going to be very strong. Ari did show some promise at being a good fighter. Kodi already seemed to be able to fight well natualy.

Ari was pinned under Kodi. She growled and tried to use her small size as an advantage. She wiggled out from under Kodi and turned to face him again.

[Meerful]

Kodiak yawned. Ari was getting to be boring. Why couldn't she fight like a normal cat? He wanted a challenge!

Granite licked his brother's ear and tucked his paws in, and fell asleep.

Niche smiled.

Badgerpaw purred at all the kits, and one by one he lickedthe tops of there head."Well-I guss I am done here.If you need anymore help just call" he purred then ran off.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

"Thanks for everything!" Sakura called after him. She doubted he heard her though.

Ari watched the cat go with curiousity in her eyes. Where was he going. She had let her guard down, and Kodi had the perfect chance to attack.

Pulse flicked his ear, signaling he felt the lick.

[Meerful]

Kodiak watched Ari turn around, and grinned- his father's grin. Prowling, he got rightbehind her, and sprung right onto ger back. Kodi attempted to shove his tiny teeth in her scruff. She'd surrender, or he'd get pciked up- either way he'd have to win or he'd never forgive himself.

Niche shrugged. He didn't care what Badgerpaw did.
"We'll have to leave when the storm's over; We can find a den we can raise the kits in that's safe- Doncha think?" Niche thought about his life style. He was never in one place. That was going to have to change. He sighed.

[Cinder.and.Flightfall]

Sakura nodded. They couldn't stay here, that's for sure. It was too dangerous.

Ari growled as Kodi jumped onto her. She felt his teeth meet her scruff, making her squeal. She growled, refusing to give up. Eventually she fell to the ground under his weight. She squealed, saying she surrendered.

[Meerful]

Kodiak gave her a warning nip, to show who was boss, then jumped off, landing lightly on his toes. His smirk was evident in the way he strode around the den, his tail, once again, held high. Kodiak stuck his tongue out at her, and then sat down beside Sakura. Purring, he fell asleep.

Ariona walked to the other side of her mother. She laid down and gave a silent yawn before falling asleep.

Sakura licked each of her kits on the head. All of them seemed to be asleep. The storm slowly started to calm down. The pouring rain was now a light drizzle, with only a small crack of thunder every now and then.
